Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted August 6, 2003 That looks 10x better than Raw. Rhyno and Eddie vs. Tajiri and Benoit sounds like a great match. FBI wins?! Over Gowan no less. I have an unsettling feeling Gowan's first victory will be over Hardy. Cena wins! Cena wins! About damn time. I bet they did this because of all the lockerroombacklash they got from the PPV match. I like the Gunn/Knoble tag team. Why? More Knoble and Nidia baby! Rey w/ Kidman? /foreshadowing/ And finally, FINALLY, Brock turns heel. Vince did something right for a change. Guest krug Report post Posted August 6, 2003 For Dark Matches, we had Harry Smith beating a smaller guy who's name I've forgotten. Velocity had the Fbi going down to the APA, Shannon Moore lost to Ultimo Dragon, and The Worlds greatest Tag Team beat Spanky and Funaki. The last two matches were pretty damn good. Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Good that Brock turned heel. He was more over as a heel anyway. Too bad Heyman and Brock had the falling out, cause I thought Brock & Heyman were good together. Oh well.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Good that Brock turned heel. He was more over as a heel anyway. Too bad Heyman and Brock had the falling out, cause I thought Brock & Heyman were good together. Oh well. ....WHAT?!?! Until Late October/Early November (around Brocks face turn) No one gave half a shit about Brock, until he beat the crap out of Taker in HIAC and roughed up the Talentless Show. IT was after his face turn he got mega popular. (Using Mega loosely)
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted August 6, 2003 I know where this Gowan thing is leading. Zach is on an incredible losing streak to anyone and everyone then finally overcomes it when he beats Matt Hardy at Summerslam.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Eddie Guerrero beat Chris Benoit via DQ interference from Rhyno and Tajiri. Slaughter came down and made the referee make it a tag match since they all interfere in each other's matches every week. Chris Benoit and Tajiri beat Eddie Guerrero and Rhyno via Benoit's crossface submission on Guerrero. No complaints here. Nunzio w/ Palumbo and Stamboli beat Zach Gowen. Matt Hardy gave Gowen the twist of fate after the match. *sniff* The little trouper tries so hard! John Cena beat Undertaker with the FU. Very long match which saw Albert interfere early on. It's best that I leave this be. Taker debates are shelved under 'things I avoid like the plague'. Jamie Noble w/ Nidia beat Doug Basham w/ Danny Basham and Shaniquia. After the match the Basham Brothers double teamed Noble until Billy Gunn came out to make the save. That's an... odd match. I guess Noble IS a face after all. And thank God youknowwho was kept to just running in. Charlie Haas w/ Shelton Benjamin beat Rey Mysterio via submission. Most likely akin to Benjamin/Mysterio from last week. No mention of Kidman? Sable comes out to the ring and says that Stephanie's ego is too bruised to show her face on Smackdown. Preach on, Sable. And when McJuggs makes her return, make her make those horribly entertaining screeching noises. I love those. Early in the match Angle had the ankle lock on Vince. Why? Vince brings the title in the ring and hands it to Lesnar who busts Angle open with it. Lesnar throws Angle head first into the cage. Lesnar and Vince stand over Angle and then hug. Lesnar and Vince walk to the back. Let's hope that now Vince does all the talking for Brock. And I mean ALL of it. But the thing is, Brock was still very, very popular and we might see a repeat of April 2001.

Of course he wasn't over yet, but he was in the Randy Orton "we're shoving him down yer throat whether you like him or not mode" Heyman basically got him over by being such an asshole character. I dunno, maybe I just fucked up my whole statement, I don't care anymore, I am not high on Lesnar heel or face anyway.

Yes, Orton is also getting the Brock push, where 96% of the fans despise him, but its the other 4% WWE is listening to by throwing him out on RAW every week for 15-20 minutes. Heyman should turn face to manage Angle. LOL

Guest Nobody in Particular Report post Posted August 6, 2003 I guess I should give my impressions of the show... -The Arena was almost full. A few seats were empty around the camera but otherwise it was full. -When Tony Chimmel was doing his start-of show speech the ref in there was bouncing all over the place causing Tony to bounce around, tehile barely containing his laughter. -I was shocked by the lack of promos. Just a handful of backstage skits and only two in-ring promos. Also of note was the lack of pyro. The only fireworks were in Ultimo and Rey's entrances. -Loud. When you hear a huge Slaughter chant when he comes be shocked with the fact that there will likely be no piping involved. Other moments of volume include Taker's entrance, Benoit and the beloved TWO! Supplied heavily by myself. -The cage match sucked. Almost right away Brock goes for the F5 but drops him and collapses. Huge bullshit chant ensues while Kurt and Vince go at it. Brock kips up and attacks Kurt while he has Vince in the anklelock. Brock beats down Kurt and that's it. -No Steph. No Big Show. No cheese. And much to the disdain to the guys sitting behind me, no Doink.
