LaParkaYourCar Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Everytime I try to join a multiplayer game online it causes my computer to reset and it has to do the disk scan thing before loading up. I have Widows XP and had it when I bought the game and it worked fine before. I have DSL internet. I bought Quake III Gold awhile back and haven't updated it yet. What's causing this?
MrRant Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Not sure. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling Quake. Have you updated your video card drivers recently? That may help.
LaParkaYourCar Posted August 10, 2003 Author Report Posted August 10, 2003 I downloaded the Quake update and it fixed it.
LaParkaYourCar Posted August 10, 2003 Author Report Posted August 10, 2003 Nevermind it's doing it again. It's when I log onto a multiplayer game.
Guest David Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 That happens to me when I play counter-strike, but I don't know how to fix it, so I just play, and when the computer resets I play agian
Guest Urine Sane Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 Could be your power supply, I'd have that problem (except mine would freeze usually) I got a stronger power supply and it fixed it.
LaParkaYourCar Posted August 11, 2003 Author Report Posted August 11, 2003 But it's never done it before. I used to be able to play online all the time on Quake and Half Life.
