Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 Salvatore Rinauro's Column "Unrated" Rinauroism is the religion, Sal is our God, Unrated is our Bible, and I aspire to be a registered minister of the religion someday.
Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 Review WCW Sal Rinauro ...... Ok, I had nothing to say there so I WENT SCOTSMAN~! on yo ass. But seriously, is this guy the god you praise him as? I've only seen him in the CZW Battle Royal at Best of the Best (he was suspiciously not in the tournament though....hmmmm.....), and he made me audibly go "MEH." I'm serious. I said that. Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 You didn't see him in his element, man. He honestly can't be judged until you catch his body of work in Wildside. Almost everything he's done there in the past year has been GOLD, and I don't mean that in the ROH flippy-shit, "strong style" (whatever that means, besides stiffing some dude in the face) way. Total old-school dick heel.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Fucking NOSAWA looked bad when he was in CZW. If he didn't look good in a singles match, of course Rinauro won't look good in CZW battle royal with a bunch of other juniors. Watch him in Wildside and see some great shit. His feud with Altar Boy Luke has already produced some of the best matches in the company's history and with Luke returning on 9/6 and guys like Icarus finally being picked up by NWA-WS, he's bound to produce more classic bouts. Usually, in a battle royale (or a scramble, or whatever), you'd have to show your signature spots. He really didn't even do that. Honestly, I don't really care to seek his Wildside stuff out because of lack of funding and the want for more important tapes (like Ring of Honor...sorry Tom Green, BUT RING OF HONOR IS AWESOME. Thanks.). If this means I'm missing the second coming of Jesus Christ in a wrestling ring, then so be it. I blame it on the Black Out.

If he did his signature Leaping Somersault Plancha Suicida, he'd eliminate himself. If he did his Flying Elbow Drop, he'd probably land on top of another participant, seeing as how there's many participants in a battle royal. So in his case, he probably couldn't have done his signature moves in a battle royal, even if he wanted to. Again, his Wildside stuff is a much better representation of his talent. Can you send me some tapes? Nevermortal- I like ya, and I hope to see you on 9/6, but you're a cheap bastard . I too love ROH, but there's quite a few promotions out there better than them. Anyway, my personal list (in terms of pure "like of the overall product"): #1-CZW #2- Wildside #3- ROH #4- IWA (Admittedly I haven't seen a lot of their stuff) #5- IWS (cheap plug) I'm not presenting this list as fact, simply my personal preferences. I just wish people would take a more open-minded attitude and discover that ROH is not the be-all and end-all of great independent wrestling. Let's look at the newest acquisitions in TNA for example: Chris Sabin -Discovered in some obscure Michigan indy Jonny Storm -primarily the FWA in England Frankie Kazarian- mostly West Coast indys. Matt Sydal- Gateway Championship Wrestling Altar Boy Luke- Wildside, but he "made his name" in XPW. GREAT indy wrestling is everywhere, not just ROH.
Sandman9000 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 I'm probably one of the biggest CZW fanboys you'll find, but even I don't believe they're the number one independent out there. My personal list: #1: ROH #2: IWA-MS (If you took ROH and CZW, all the positive and negative aspects save the owners, tossed it into Indiana and put it in front of 50 people, that's IWA-MS in a nutshell. Had it not been for their recent lease loss, I'd rank them #1.) #3: CZW #4: IWS #5: Wildside (not their fault, I've simply seen none of their work to put them above any of the feds I have seen.) It's not like I'm taking a grand shit on Wildside. I just don't have the ambition to seek out their stuff, which I hear is very good. IWA-MS has great wrestling, but honestly, they look SO FUCKING BUSH LEAGUE! I know this shouldn't distract me from the action, but c'mon, spruce up the place. Make an entranceway. Do something.... CZW & RoH are my two favorite feds right now. RoH provides me with great wrestling, and CZW provides me with the hardcore brawls I crave, like a crackhead craves a hit. Yeah, he was on their second most recent show. He unfortunately lost in the first match on the card, but I just talked to him and he said he'll be on every weekend card they have from now on.
