Guest Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 By Wade Keller, Torch editor April 01, 2002 12:06 pm Up against first-run programming on NBC and with Survivor moved back to Thursdays (after two weeks in a Wednesday timeslot), Smackdown dropped back below 4.0 last week. It drew a 3.7 rating. The Mar. 21 Smackdown the week before drew a strong 4.3 rating, up from the strongh 4.0 the week before and the record-low 4.3 the week before that. There were very few preemptions of Smackdown last Thursday as it was available in 85 percent of the country. With no preemptions, UPN is available in 87 percent of the country. pwtorch.com I wonder why the big drop?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 It was a nothing show on the day before a holiday weekend.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 No Steph. You KNOW that will be the excuse.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 You KNOW that will be the excuse. Either that or too much Kurt Angle.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 Either that or too much Kurt Angle. Nah, fans can't get sick of this SCINTILATING Edge feud.

Guest TheDames7 Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 Holy shit, there's an Edge fued going on? Dames - Wishes he was kidding.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 He's feuding with Kurt Angle just so no one thinks Kurt is a main eventer.
Guest toggle Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 SmackDown was a just a bad show with a horrible main event. The Steph-HHH angle is stupid and annoying. I want to see *wrestlers* when I watch wrestling.
Guest buffybeast Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 I am curious to see tonight's RAW rating since it is going against the NCAA mens basketball finals. (GO TERPS!)
Guest Austin3164life Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 Shows how much Rock/Hogan bring to their show. Plus, this shows how interested fans are in the split. If these are the signs, then Raw might not do too well either.....we'll see....
Guest Goodear Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 Nah, fans can't get sick of this SCINTILATING Edge feud. Even though Kurt had nothing to do with Edge on Smackdown and everything to do with Triple H, Flair, and Vinnie McMahon? Dude, pay attention so you know who to blame for Angle's ratings problems, in this case it would be Triple H and McMahon.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 It's because no on expected anyone feuding with Edge to be in the ring with McMahon, Flair or HHH
Guest Will Scarlet Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 I am not surprised that the show had a low rating. I mean, when I first heard that Smackdown was the last show before the roster's split, I immediately thought "throwaway show." And, like always, the WWF delivered, making a show that was, for the most part, a total waste. Ah well, maybe it will be better this week.
Guest Big Poppa Smurf Posted April 1, 2002 Report Posted April 1, 2002 Smackdown was preempted in the Philadelphia area.
Guest mastermind Posted April 2, 2002 Report Posted April 2, 2002 Yep, you knew nothing would be great when all the wwf was talking about was the new RAW headed by Flair and Smackdown by Vince. I bet most fans just changed the channel until the "real stuff" happened this week. The wwf is going to go through growing pains with this and I hope they don't panick like some here or we could be seeing some hotshot stuff like last year around this time.
