As we can see here. The Fielder/Gruber shift was too effective and Jimy kept Cecil on the bench (or at DH)

 

Jimy Williams also put Cecil Fielder in left field for 3 innings. It's a wonder that Cecil didn't murder or devour Williams before he went off to conquer Japan. (Off-topic question: Who is the Astro who is in the 'Cecil Fielder' role of the 'guy who Jimy won't use'?)

Strawberry is ejected in the top of the 6th for arguing balls and strikes. Ray Knight and Kevin Mitchell are ejected for brawkling in the tenth. Needing a position player, Davey Johnson alternates Jesse Orosco and Roger McDowell in the outfield, bring Orosco in against lefties, McDowell against righties, and putting the other in the outfield.
