The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 I was up late a few nights ago, around 3 or 4 a.m. I tuned into the Loop, 97.9 FM for those of you in greater Chicago. They were playing "Goodbye Blue Sky" from The Wall. However, instead of going into Empty Spaces, as one would expect, they went into Hey You, which went into Another Brick In The Wall Part 1, which went into Young Lust, and so on in this fashion. They played The Wall completely out of order, and forsome reason, their sequence ended up being pretty cool. Apparently someone went out of their way to edit it because it wasn't just like hitting Shuffle on the CD player. Is this something a lot of stations do and have been doing since its release in '79? B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 Hey, Czech Republic is from Chicago. B. Brian lived there for 12 years. Well, Joliet, actually, but close enough. The Loop does stuff like that at night. They call them Loop Custom Cuts. I've heard them play "Pgigs on the Wing 1 and 2" then go right into "Pigs (Three Different Ones)", which rocked the house. Ah, Joliet. Where are you now? Yeah, I guess I don't listen to enough late-night Loop. I've been listening to a lot more of The Drive lately, to be honest. I remember a lot of local radio enthusiasts bemoaning the loss of the only classical station in Chicago, WNIB I think, and what we got as a replacement has been one of the most popular stations in the city, now expanding its listening fanbase all the way up into Milwaukee. B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 I've relocated to Wheeling, West BAH GAWD~! Virginia for college, but I still makew my way up to Joliet to see my folks and stuff. The Drive isn't bad, they play too much of the "AM Gold" stuff for my liking though. Every now and then, they'll bust out some REALLY good stuff that I haven't heard in years though. I'm a fan of XRT. They play some wierd stuff, but they're the only station in Chicago that'll bust out Syd Barrett era stracks from The Floyd.

Wheeling, West Virginia is probably better than Wheeling, Illinois.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 you poor soul --- does that mean you are going to WVU?
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 you poor soul --- does that mean you are going to WVU? Nah, I got to West Liberty. Morgantown is a a couple of hours away. WLSC is 15 minutes away from my aunts house, so it's MUCH easier to commute. Wheeling, Illinois sucks too though.
