Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I was watching the conclusion of tonight's Sharpie 500 which was won by Kurt Busch. When Busch emerged from the Car...He was DROWNED in a deafing roar of Boos. Busch then went on to *REALLY* put him over as the HHH of Heels for Nascar... After basically Mocking Sterlin Marlin by saying pretty much "Hey Man, Sorry...you were in my way" in reponse to him spinning him out...he then pretty much said "Fuck the fans" in response to the Jimmy Spencer constroversy and his mixed reaction during his introduction but then he went and done it... He compared himself to Dale Earnhardt Sr by saying "Dale Sr once said...The one who makes the most noise Wins and that's What I did"...that pretty much did right there. Kurt Busch managed to Get 167,000 people boo the unholy fuck out of him in just one 2 minute "promo". Any other great modern sports Heels you want to bring up? the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Fucking Busch. Who would have thought this time last year Harvick would become a face though? Bonds, Michael Irvin was a good heel, Earnhardt was a good NWO style cool heel.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I did enjoy the prerace and the end of the race commentary where they were trying to make Busch out to be a good guy. The prerace "Hey, the man gives to charity and races for a dead friend.", and the end "This guy won how can you boo him."
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Exactly...Harvick pretty much made the Rock type face turn...He was massively hated but then became popular for being who he really is. Earnhardt Sr=NwO Heel...GREAT COMPARISON. Heh...Non Nascar fans must be confused by us comparing Wrestling Internet Jargon with Nascar...
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 That's funny. He'll probably end up being a huge fan favorite.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I doubt it...I don't think Busch has ANY likable personality in him... For those who don't follow Nascar...Busch has a younger more "talented" brother waiting in the wings...So expect a Owen/Bret esque Rivalary with them...only The younger busch will be playing bret...
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Harvick even cut the classic babyface promo using the words rubberhead and butthole. He is an oldschool face who won't even swear now. I do miss him jumping over cars to get at Biffle though.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Yeah...He's also getting plastered all over Nascar commericals... I'm still not sure just where Jr stands... I'm sensing he will make a heel turn at some point with the "I AM NOT MY FATHER!" type turn...

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 24, 2003 And then Busch will call Dale Jr. a dirty bastard and drag Dale Sr.'s coffin around the track in a Ford
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 His Marketablity...His Name...His Confidence...His attitude... Him giving Money away for any charity that went up to him...his contributions to the Carolinas...
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I could see that in a couple of years if he hasn't won a championship or if he goes over to RCR and gets a little too much pressure. If you think about it though right now NASCAR is running a perfectly booked New Blood vs. Tradition feud that WCW tried. You have the young guys going over a lot. A champion (Kenseth) who is a bit of a tweener between new and old school styles. An old gun who never succeeded until now standing up to the young guns. (Waltip) Growing dissension in the young gun ranks. (Harvick-Busch) Growing resentment among the older set of drivers that will either eventually lead to a grand comeback or the complete passing of the torch. Either way you get a big babyface comeback or the evolution of the product.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Exactly... The Millionaries Club=Jarrett, Elliot, Wallace,Schrader and Labonte. Problem is... Nascar will try to take Hogan (Gordon) and make him the focus... It's time for Nascar to phase out Gordon.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 24, 2003 So then Richard Petty returns and eventually turns on the old timers and sides with the future.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 So then Richard Petty returns and eventually turns on the old timers and sides with the future. Well...He did cut a heel shoot on Earnhardt right after he died...He has it in him
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I enjoy the general apathy towards Gordon now. People still cheer when he crashes but he doesn't get booed during intros or victory lanes that much anymore. You do have to give NASCAR credit though for marketing Earnhardt Jr. like they have been. If he never goes on to do anything they milked a good bit out of him while he was hot.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Now if only we can get a one legged driver doing a blade job in the pits after sucessfully getting qualified for a race.

He's skinny white dude that can't grow a Full goatee to save his life... I'm talking about Jr...not Gordon. I can undestand the female adulation Gordon gets... Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Now if only we can get a one legged driver doing a blade job in the pits after sucessfully getting qualified for a race. They have a handful of Skinny white guys in the ASA...bring one of them up...
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 24, 2003 During the height of his popularity/hatred, Gordon missed a good opporunity to turn hee; in response to the boos. Gordon could've cut a Blue Blood or Greenwich Posse style promo.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Riiight...He kinda did that when he started wearing designer clothes to the track and wore fancy sunglasses and shit... Funny Though... Tony Stewart was considered the ultimo bad ass last year and now he's pretty much mr. goodie two shoes and he's also going around saying "Im outta here in 3 years"... the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I think Gordon would have turned heel if they didn't expand as much as they did. But when NASCAR went away from old tracks into the bigger cities he was more what those fans were looking for. More than the good old boys that fans usually cheered for. And Stewart is well on his way to becoming a Jericho-esque whining dick heel. Bitching about feul milage and saying he wants out.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 24, 2003 But without the promo the clothes are meaningless
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Ok. Choken or someone with a little more knowledge of NASCAR. Who are the wresting equivilents of the drivers.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 It's a Shady thing to say because I don't know who to compare Mysterio with... But NASCAR does have it main core of big names and dominant personas and it's jobbers... Let Pinjockey handle this...he's better with comparisons. But I'll say this... Jimmy Spencer=A-Train
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Harvick - Tweener Jericho (started out as a bit of a dick heel but fans wanted to cheer, also came in with a big entrance) Stewart - Pussy Heel Jericho Busch - A talented Randy Orton (Young, brash, thinks he the best) Kenseth - Undertaker (Never is the big main eventer, but does what is necessary to stay in ME scene) Earnhardt Jr. - Brock Lesnar (Young guy, big hype, shown flashes of future brilliance but hasn't put it all together yet to be THE guy)

They didn't, and ended up hating him.
