Guest ToddRoyal Report post Posted August 26, 2003 Hey, this is the story about my dream. A dream that was fueled by a chance fate, and driven by desire to succeed. A Dream that starts way down in the bottom of the barrel. See, I was just a normal wrestling fan until it happened. I had flunked out of school the year before, and spent most of my time in my parents basement watching puro tapes and waiting for Raw to come on so I could bitch about how much I hated it. But then...I got the call. My grandfather had died. I had never been happier. Now wait, I loved my grandpa. He was a great guy, a big leauge stock broker who had made a name for himself on Wall Street and who always brought my siblings and I great presents. But I hadn't seen him much in years. And he's loaded. Or rather he WAS loaded. Now I'M loaded. Grandpa left me $20,000,000.00 in his will. My parents were thrilled. I could finally move out and DO something with my life. Unfortunately, I was only going to do one thing with this money. Start my own wrestling company!! Sadly, no one wanted my ass to start a wrestling company. None of the wrestlers returned my calls, and none of the buliding promoters would let me through the door. I was DETERMINED however, to dethrone Vince McMahon and the WWE, even if I had to start at the bottom. Thus was born.... MAIN EVENT CHAMPIONSHIP COMBAT ASSOCIATION ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The only arena I could get was my backyard, so a sign over my garage was put up to say "PINE STREET COLISEUM". With my meager 5% production budget I bought a megaphone (since a microphone didn't fit my long term budget) and a steel chair, because all wrestling promotions need those. A Cheap CD player would blast entrance music to the crowd, and a used E-bay ring was erected. We were READY. Except we were just ME. I needed wrestlers, so I turned to the neighborhood guys. * My next door neighbor Johnny Samson was the first to agree to my terms, signing a contract to appear as the top heel in MECCA. Since the guy is kind of cocky, I agreed, and Rex Nitro was born. * Next up was the rich kid on the block (or the FORMER rich kid---SUCKA!) Maxamillion Carmichael. Max was frustrated with his parents who gave him a terribly stereotypical rich kid name, and thought that MECCA would be the best place to vent his frustrations. Thus entered Maxx Carnage. * With several kids turning me down, I was forced to call on the most obnoxious kids in the neighborhood- Billy and Blake Black. The guys agreed to wrestle, but only if I gave them liscense to choose their gimmicks. I agreed, perhaps stupidly, as Uber-Posers Southside Billy and Gangsta B were created. The world is a much worse place now that The Pine Street Posse inhabit it. * Running low on bodies, I imported guys from the high school wrestling team. Both guys are technical wizards, and so I was happy to get them on board. Until I read the contracts they signed. Armando Barr insisted on a shorter version of his name, and Jim Locke only answered to the wrestling team nickname of "Hammer". So ya- I signed "Hammer" Locke and Arm Barr. But WAIT...If you think that is so dumb you're ready to run away, you haven't heard the dumbest thing yet. Their tag team name...Ya, I went for the easy name...Please welcome...Arm & Hammer. So now I have a roster. I have an arena. I need an event. So in an effort to trick customers into thinking they are seeing a WWE show, we're preparing for MECCA WrestlingMANIA!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Its the MECCA of Pro Wrestling...Its WrestlingMANIA...Its (shudder) Arm & Hammer and the Pine Street Posse...Its SOON! Guest ToddRoyal Report post Posted September 1, 2003 Wow. Sorry It took me so long to post a show, but I'm in transition from work everyday to school everyday, and lots of packing and crap in between. Anyway, we have our first show done, so come on in and check it out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, the ring was set up in my yard, the sheet was pulled between two bushes and a rousing crowd of ELEVEN PEOPLE sat in the stands (My parents, my little brother, Max's parents, The Black's father, Johnny's parents and senile grandfather, The Highschool wrestling coach (to see what Arm and Hammer were wasting their time with), and the mailman, who we forced to stay). They were all feasting on my mom's potato salad and were ready for... MECCA: WrestlingMANIA I ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before the show began, my sister Melissa hit the ring. Yeah. My little sister works for me too. Upon hearing that I had hired her longtime crush Billy Black, she demanded to be the manager of the PSP. She ALSO demanded that she be called by the more "hip" name of Miss Liss. Anyway, Miss Liss brought the Pine Street Posse to the ring and grabbed the megaphone. The crowd, save for Mr. Black, was dead for the Posse, but thankfully my sister has an ear-piercing screech that got her over as a heel. She basically just said that the PSP was "in the heezy", and that one of the Posse members would walk out of the yard with "the bling bling" tonight. 51% Six Man Tag Match for a 1st Rd. Bye Maxx Carnage & Arm & Hammer Vs. Rex Nitro & The Pine Street Posse ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Match Background: Hammer is making his debut at this show. Arm is making his debut at this show. Maxx is making his debut at this show. B is making his debut at this show. Billy is making his debut at this show. Rex is making his debut at this show. Maxx and Rex are currently feuding. Neither has managed to get an in-ring victory in this feud. Arm & Hammer and Pine Street Posse are currently feuding. Neither team holds an in-ring victory since the feud started. The Match: Rex is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. Hammer slams Rex Nitro down and motions to the crowd. Tag to Maxx Carnage. Maxx hits a wheel kick on Rex. Reverse DDT on Rex. Hooks the leg for a two count. Maxx tags out to Armando Barr. Maxx \ Arm hook up Rex, then hit a double suplex. Arm hits a dropkick on Rex Nitro and gets right back up. Rex Nitro avoids a Armando Barr avalanche by getting out of the damn way! Spin kick by Rex Nitro to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Tag to Gangsta B. B hits a dropkick on Armando Barr. Actually, it barely touched! Flying knee to the face from Gangsta B. For the record it was more of a Rusty Wizard than a Shining one. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. B hits a spinning back kick. All those spinning kicks look alike, don't they. B tags out to Southside Billy. Southside Billy connects with a back heel kick on Arm and gets back up quickly. Second rope flying axe handle, Arm goes down. One day, Billy might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Arm reverses a Southside Billy hammerlock. Tag between Armando Barr and Jim Locke. Flying shoulder tackle by Hammer sends Billy CRASHING to the mat. Tag between Southside Billy and Rex Nitro. Rex Nitro strikes Hammer. Lightning kick by Rex on Hammer. Rex Nitro gets a roll-up...and grabs a handful of tights as well! The referee doesn't see it: 1....2...3!! My Opinion: When I give out 3/4*, it means that I'm being REALLY nice about it. (Well, I wanted to have a tournament for the vacant MECCA Universal Title {Universal because we're BETTER than all those world titles of course} but thats kind of hard with 6 wrestlers. So the winner of the fall in this match gets a 1st rd bye, and the loser of the fall is ineligible to compete for the second bye. That oughta confuse Grandpa Samson.) 4 Corner's Match for a 1st Rd. Bye Maxx Carnage Vs. Armando Barr Vs. Southside Billy Vs. Gangsta B ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Match: Billy hits a dropkick on Gangsta B and gets right back up. Billy just WAFFLES B with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag between Southside Billy and Armando Barr. Bodyslam by Arm. Death valley driver by Armando Barr! No one executes that move properly anymore. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Tag between Armando Barr and Maxx Carnage. Flying dropkick from Maxx on B gets a two count. Tag to Southside Billy. Billy just WAFFLES Maxx with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Maxx powers out of a headlock. Maxx Carnage plants Billy with an EXPLODAH~! suplex. The ref gets into position, administers the three count, and it's over. Maxx Carnage pins Billy. B hits an arm drag on Maxx, follows it up with about 3 more and locks in an armbar for good measure. B tries to channel the power of Kawada, but ends up channeling the power of Trish Stratus instead by hitting a high kick on Maxx Carnage. Hooks the leg for a two count. Maxx takes a hard, stinging chop from B. One word: Ow. Maxx tags out to Armando Barr. Arm hits a dropkick on Gangsta B and gets right back up. Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Gangsta B by Arm. Remember when that was a legit finish? B flips out of a Armando Barr bodyslam attempt. Face crusher from B on Arm sets up for an elbowdrop. Gangsta B with an enziguri! HBK isn't moving...uh oh. Oh, sorry, I had a flashback to the last time I got fooled. Cover gets three for Gangsta B, Arm got pinned. B tries to channel the power of Kawada, but ends up channeling the power of Trish Stratus instead by hitting a high kick on Maxx Carnage. B face jams Maxx Carnage. Pin, but Maxx is out just before the three count. B walks into a drop toe hold. Maxx Carnage moves in for the kill. Here it comes - Maxximum Impact. 1....2...3, it's finished. My Opinion: If it weren't for two great moments in this match, it would have gotten a DUD. Either way, all its getting from me is a 1\2*. (Well, we tease FAMILY TENSION~! right off the bat, because our little WWF Replica I-C belt (Circa 1985) is THAT prestigous, and Maxx makes an impressive singles debut hitting the Maxximum Impact (A spear) to get over as our top face) 1st Round Match- Universal Title Tournament Armando Barr Vs. Southside Billy ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Match: Flying shoulder tackle by Arm sends Billy CRASHING to the mat. Nice piledriver on Billy. Covers for a quick two count. Arm drops an elbow...but Southside Billy moves out of the way. Billy hits a HARD spinning kick to the jaw. Billy hits a dropkick on Armando Barr and gets right back up. Covers for a quick two count. Tiger suplex on Arm. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, Bloody Hell! Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. THERE IT IS! A legdrop to the BACK OF THE HEAD! I swear, that makes any match just a little bit better. I don't mind telling you that every time I see it, that's for sure. Southside Billy misses a clothesline. Massive backbreaker on Billy and I get happy flashbacks to Bret Hart's Five Moves of DOOM. There's a two count on the pin. Armando Barr plants Billy with an EXPLODAH~! suplex. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! BAAACK Body drop by Billy gets a bit of a pop from the crowd. Billy takes a headbutt from Armando Barr. Southside Billy powers out of a Armando Barr headlock. Billy uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! Arm walks into a face crusher variation. Has anyone's face ever really been crushed by one though? Miss Liss is at ringside! Arm wastes valuable time by yelling at Liss! Southside Billy takes advantage of the distraction and nails Arm from behind! Armando Barr can barely stand. Low-Rider!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Billy and Liss tie Armando Barr up in the ropes, then start punching away at him until referees run down and break it up. My Opinion: Not good enough to earn an entire star. 3/4* for you. ( Billy is still the antithesis of over, but Arm Barr was able to carry him to an acceptable match, and my sister provided the distraction so SSB could hit the Low Rider (a Bulldog) for the advancement) 1st Round Match- Universal Title Tournament Jim "Hammer" Locke Vs. Gangsta B ------------------------------------------------------------------------- (I accidentally deleted the match recap! WOOHOO! Even my real production on my fake show sucks! Anyway, Locke defeated B with the Locke-Down bridging Hammerlock to advance. I'll try not to do that again.) My Opinion: If it weren't for two great moments in this match, it would have gotten a DUD. Either way, all its getting from me is a 1\2*. Semi Finals- Universal Title Tournament Rex Nitro Vs. Jim "Hammer" Locke ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Match: Hammer walks into a high dropkick from Rex Nitro, almost losing several teeth in the process. Jim Locke once again takes the advantage after blocking a few punches and connecting with some forearms. STIFF~! chop lights up Rex who covers up to try and stop the agonizing PAIN! The referee bumps after catching a wild right hand and is down. Brutal sit out powerbomb on Rex! Cover, but there's no one to count for Jim Locke! Rex backdrops Jim Locke out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of Rex Nitro. Hard back suplex on Hammer. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Spinning bulldog in the corner and Hammer is down! There's a two count on the pin. Back heel kick off the second rope, Hammer goes down. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Hammer kicks Rex Nitro in the gut to reverse the momentum. Spear by Jim Locke. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Rex ducks a wild right hand. Jim Locke hooks up a suplex, but Rex flips out and lands on his feet, and quickly grabs the tights to score with a school boy pin! 1...2..3! The referee somehow missed the blatant cheating! My Opinion: If it weren't for two great moments in this match, it would have gotten a DUD. Either way, all its getting from me is a 1\2*. (Nitro continues to Cheat to win. No real story here, other than to establish Rex as the amazing cheating heel. "Hammer" Locke is well- bland.) Semi Final Match- Universal Title Tournament Maxx Carnage Vs. Southside Billy ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Match: Billy gets caught with a belly to belly suplex from Maxx! Billy takes a back suplex. Maxx Carnage snap suplexes Billy. Hooks the leg for a two count. Stun Gun from Maxx Carnage! I still can't believe that was Austin's finisher at one point. Covers for a quick two count. Billy blocks a kick from Maxx Carnage. Standing leg lariat by Southside Billy on Maxx. Hooks the leg for a two count. Maxx takes a NICE hurrancarana from Southside Billy. Maxx Carnage comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Belly to belly off the top rope! Miss Liss has climbed up onto the apron! Maxx turns...and falls for the distraction! Southside Billy runs at Maxx from behind...but misses! Southside Billy collides with Miss Liss! Maxx Carnage moves in for the kill. Maxximum Impact!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Maxx Carnage goes on the rampage, firing off stiff shots to both Southside Billy and Miss Liss, who take the hint and swiftly leave the ring for their own safety. My Opinion: Bad match which brought absolutely nothing to the table and was a waste of time. DUD. (So...interesting phenomenon in EWR 4.0 that makes it even HARDER to run a backyard fed. Apparently too many segments involving the same guy causes the guy to lose overness. That sucks, since I only have six guys. And since this is Billy's 5th segment tonight and he was already getting no reaction- this sucked) MECCA UNIVERSAL TITLE MATCH Maxx Carnage Vs. Rex Nitro ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Match: Rex Nitro takes a butterfly suplex from Maxx. Maxx Carnage hits a crappy missile dropkick on Rex. Covers for a quick two count. Rex Nitro elbows Maxx Carnage in the face to break a hammerlock. Rex just WAFFLES Maxx with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Rex Nitro hits a rolling kick on Maxx. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. There's a two count on the pin. Springboard dropkick from Rex Nitro. Nicely done. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Rex hits a dropkick on Maxx Carnage and gets right back up. Maxx Carnage fights out of a grapple. Reverse DDT on Rex. Hooks the leg for a two count. Slingshot clothesline by Maxx, who almost messed it up by slipping on the ropes. Pin, but Rex is out just before the three count. Rex gets caught with a short powerbomb from Maxx. Maxx Carnage connects with a HARD right hand, sending the opponent down to the mat again. Maxx Carnage misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Flying elbow from Rex Nitro connects. Tor-NADO DDT from Rex Nitro, Maxx got planted! Maxx Carnage grabs Rex Nitro from behind and shoves him into the ropes, then scores with a roll-up...but Rex rolls through with the move! He used a pull of the tights to get Maxx over! 1....2...3! The referee was out of position and didn't see it! Rex Nitro remains in the ring, celebrating the victory. My Opinion: Not good enough to earn an entire star. 3/4* for you. (Well, our top heel and top face clash for the title. I suppose it makes sense. No wonder Maxx almost killed himself on the springboard attempt, since our ropes are just clotheslines tied around stakes. Either way, Rex cheats to win his title, and we establish the CHASE) After the match, Rex stays in the ring celebrating (As Dames noted above) and grabs the megaphone. He claims that Maxx may have money, but he doesn't have the Pure Talent that Nitro has. Rex proclaims that even though there has been only one Universal title match, the belt (in all its styrofoam glory) is more prestigous than the NWA, WWE, Triple Crown, IWGP, and Global Honored Crown put together just by virtue of his holding it. Most of the fans had no idea what a rap goup and a horse racing title had anything to do with wrestling. Methinks we need fans who have actually WATCHED wrestling. 49% WrestlingMANIA I got an overall rating of 45% ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, that wasn't very good, mostly because of the overexposure problem that I did not forsee. Next month, we'll have the minimum amount of segments, so hopefully that will help. Also, no more allowing people to pick their own gimmicks. The Pine Street Posse's brilliant idea to be posers? Well- combined with their overexposure they are both now at the AMAZING plateau of ZERO OVERNESS!!! *sigh* this is going to be a LONG ride. Next month, we return with our halloween extravaganza- MECCA Haunted House Party, with Rex Nitro putting the belt on the line against Armando Barr, and A big Arm & Hammer Vs. PSP match. Stay tuned---its SOON! (comments?)
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 Great opening show Todd. Keep it up. And since you've only got six people in your fed, try building them up with seperate angles (exsemption PSP) as that'll probably make MECCA a lot easier to run as well.
