Guest Flyboy Report post Posted November 19, 2003 OU's defense is going to destroy Symons.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 Symons is a product of the system. Texas Tech has zero defense. Oklahoma has a good defense. Also, Oklahoma wasn't into the Baylor game. Texas Tech is a rival.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 42 is way, way too much to expect out of TT. I think Symons can get them into the endzone a couple of times, but the Oklahoma secondary is insane. You've also got to remember that, against a relatively explosive 7-4 team, Stoops is probably going to keep his first-string guys in there for almost the whole game. For some reason, I'm feeling 48-14, but it could get a lot higher, depending on how bad the Tech defense really is.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 Tech's d is horrible. It depends how many points OU wants to score. 62-20 is my prediction. Texas Tech will score a couple meaningless TD's at the end of the game.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Yes we all know about the OU victory that will probably happen. What I'm interested in is Michigan/Ohio State. Who thinks Ohio State will job?
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 I think I found one of the more incredible turn-arounds of the year. At Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane are on their way to a bowl game and they are 7-4 so far under new head coach Steve Kragthorpe. 7-4 after 1-11 and 1-10 seasons, and a stretch where the team won once in 24 games (that stretch ended this year). I'd say that Kragthorpe is doing a very good job at Tulsa. His team is projected to be going to the Hawaii Bowl. BTW, why is there a Fort Worth Bowl anyways? Does the world need a game between KU and Houston on the campus of TCU?
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Good job Rob. You manage to find the stories under the radar screen. Tulsa's been a great story. Best turnaround in the game. They also seem to be improving has the season continues. If they win at San Jose St. hopefully they can make a Bowl.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Rivalry Week. What are your favorite rivalries, and trophies? Ohio St-Michigan is the best, followed by Army-Navy. The best trophy has to be the giant wooden Indian Stephen F. Austin and NE Louisiana St. play for.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Biased opinion: Being a lifer Michigan fan, you can guess what that is. Living in the midwest though, I've been stuck in the middle of the OU-Nebraska rivalry. Also, in the last decade, Nebraska-KSU has picked up steam, now that KSU can match the Cornfuckers game for game Unbiased: I suppose I should say 'Bama-Auburn, but not being from down south, I'm not feeling it. On top of that, since Bryant's passing, 'Bama has been relegated to mid-card status for the most part with some great flashes here and there ('92 champ season, '99) while Auburn has never done anything of note in my lifetime AFAIR. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Auburn won a national title in the early-mid 90s, didn't they? Clemson/South Carolina is the most underrated rivalry in the nation. Seriously. I can't remember when it was (in the last 20 years I know), but a near-riot started when a group of Carolina fans got onto the field somehow before the game wearing a bunch of Clemson practice gear and making them look like retards. The game was at Clemson that year. I think the guys who played the prank needed a small army of police to protect them.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Auburn had an undefeated season when they were on probation.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Auburn won a national title in the early-mid 90s, didn't they? I can run all the college national champions since the year I was born ('80) off my head, and I assure you that Auburn was not one of them.

Auburn was declared champion by the National Championship Foundation despite being on probation in 1993. Source = http://www.ncaa.org/champadmin/ia_football...ast_champs.html ...I didn't know so many possible "championships" existed... BUT, sticking with the letter of the law, the true pre-BCS championships were the AP's champion and the coaches' champion, and those were the ones I remember... granted, I didn't always agree with them ...plus I still think D1 football has a fair ways to go before they get to anything resembling a "true" champion (the lower divisions don't have this problem, wonder why, hmmm)
Spicy McHaggis 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 IMO, the best rivalry is ND/SC. My fave sectional rivalry is SC/UCLA and any southern rivalry.

teke184 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 Man... this has gone from "loss" to "CRUSHING loss" for TCU. They're down 24-6 right now and Southern Miss just recovered a fumble on TCU's 26 yard line.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 Well the hottest rivalry in the country is the Red River Shootout. It's typically the best selling rivalry game...that being said the games usually suck because Oklahoma embarasses Texas.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 Uh oh, looks like TCU is aiming to drop from Tulane '98/Marshall '99 status down to BYU '01 status I can hear the "over-RATED" cries from the sports media now

teke184 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 I think that horseshoe will fall out of their ass shortly... Even if they score with this one, Southern Miss will be watching for both the pooch and the regular onsides kick.
