teke184 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 NC State and OSU in OT right now. I want NC State to pull it off so that LSU has a chance to move up two spaces in the polls.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 Good for Texas...why bother getting your fan's hopes every year for a national championship just to get blow out in the Red River Shootout. Might as well get those hopes out of the way early. 2nd OT for N.C. State/Ohio St., 31-31. UNLV embarasses Wisconsin 23-5, Louisiana Tech beat Michigan St. 20-19, and Cincinnati beats West Virginia 15-13. All wins were on the road for the mid-majors. Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 Texas had some questionable strategy They just smoked Arkansas when they passed the ball. In fact, it was only the last drive where the Hogs stopped them from passing. Arkansas kicked the shit out of Texas on the ground. 269 yards for Arkansas, 95 from their QB and 83 yards for Texas. Arkansas also scorched the secondary of Texas with the pass, when they were able to catch the ball. 8 for 16 and 139 yards isn't too bad, considering most days for Matt Jones. Turnovers KILLED the Longhorns. Williams fumble led to a TD. Another fumble led to another TD from Cobb. A third fumble in the red zone didn't lead to much, but it was a big fuckup. But, more room for K-State to move upwards. Especially if NC State wins this game! PIG SOIE
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 Texas bad strategy? NO WAY! Mack Brown is a great recruiter but he is a horrible coach.

Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 Texas bad strategy? NO WAY! Mack Brown is a great recruiter but he is a horrible coach. Mack, what's with blowing all your timeouts with 2 minutes left? Anyways.. I'd LOVE to see Arkansas in the Big 12. Without a doubt, they'd kick the asses of most of the Big 12 south. Arkansas already plays like a Big 12 team (lots of runs, not much passing).
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 Nice to see that Notre Dame is picking up where they left off last week and are sucking major ass against Michigan. I hope Michigan puts this one out of reach early.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 44-38 Ohio State. NC State with the ball at the 2...FOURTH DOWN. Turn to ABC NOW.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 Nice to see that Notre Dame is picking up where they left off last week and are sucking major ass against Michigan. I hope Michigan puts this one out of reach early. Notre Dame never wakes up until the 2nd half. They showed that last week and all of last year. Ohio St. wins...N.C. State stopped about an inch from the goal line. N.C. State for some reason called two quarterback sneaks after 1st and Goal on the five.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 Okay Notre Dame never woke up. Washington St. is beating Colorado late, 47-26.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 Notre Dame was suprisingly shitty today. I thought that would be a good game. Georgia handled SC like a high school team. It was great. Bama @ Kentucky in 30!

Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 I was checking out Yahoo, and I found this fun little mention about the ND-Michigan game: "Many fans in the NCAA-record crowd of 111,726 started chanting, ``Houston's better! Houston's better!'' in the fourth quarter. " That's just mean...yet so hilarious.

phoenixrising 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 I'd like to see Arkansas in the Big 12, they got a nice rivalry against Texas and they play more like a Big 12 team than an SEC team, even though they did win the SEC West last year. But who would you get to replace Arkansas? Sure as heck not Baylor. Southern Miss? They're in the area but they'd need a few years to get up to snuff, if they ever did. The good news for UCLA...they won. And the defense is pretty good. But their offense sucks when Manuel White isn't carrying the ball. It is not going to be fun next week in Oklahoma. I know Derek Strong is good, but every lineman on Oklahoma is as good or better as Strong, and they couldn't stop Strong. UCLA will have to rely on their defense and get some running going to have a chance of beating the Sooners in Norman.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 My scenario is this.. From the SEC to the Big 12: Arkansas From the Big 12 to Conference USA: Baylor From The Big East to CUSA: Temple From Conference USA to the SEC: Louisville This reactivates the Baylor/TCU rivalry, intensifies the Louisville/UK rivalry and does all sorts of good. Plus, CUSA's alignment would be East: Cincy, Army, USF, ECU, UAB, Temple West: Baylor, TCU, Houston, Tulane, South Miss, Memphis And here's my Top 11 1. OU 2. Miami 3. Michigan 4. USC 5. Ohio State 6. K-State 7. Georgia 8. Virginia Tech 9. Pitt 10. Texas 11. FSU
Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted September 14, 2003 Michigan looks good right now. I look for them to be near the top at the end of the regular season. They dismantled Notre Dame. And I look for them to end their losing streak to Ohio State. And if Ohio State continue to commit penalties like have the last two games, they will not repeat as champions. And their offense has not been stellar. Maurice Clarett is the missing key here, IMO.

The worst was in the 2nd quarter when Fraser held back and then a full second later Will shoves Rivers down. I know everybody's been all over the QB sneaks, but why did they not pass it? Everytime in the fourth quarter or overtimes when Rivers threw it seemed like he either completed the ball or drew a penalty!

Bored 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 If Bowling Green beat Ohio St. they should just give Josh Harris the Heisman. Just forget the voting and have the ceremony right on the field after the game. For the AP poll (fuck ESPN) #25 South Carolina will obviously be out and #20 Wake Forest too. #17 Colorado losing by 21 at home to unranked team is automatic boot. #14 Wisconsin even with a fairly high ranking but loses by 18 to a team that lost to KANSAS at HOME last week is boot out of the poll loss. Notre Dame is #15 and since they are Notre Dame they'll probably get the benefit of the doubt even though I don't think any team with a loss this early in the season should be ranked regardless of the opponent they lost too. Arkansas obviously will be in the new poll (top 20 very likely and SHOULD be ranked higher than Texas but that shit don't always workout with these wacky polls) and Alabama, Missouri, and either Northern Illinois or Minnesota (both if Notre Dame is out) will also join the new Top 25 based on last week's other receiving votes. It will be interesting to see if USC and Michigan both jump Ohio State.

Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 Bama could give any team in the nation a run for their money this year. Damn probation!
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 The Michigan game was so awesome. I enjoyed it so much being in row 82 or whatever but the highlight of the game other than us beating the shit out of the Fighting Irish and the "Houston's better" chant would have to be the girl next to me getting smoked in the face with a beach ball
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 New AP Top 25 out...oh and I was right...those wacky polls have Texas ranked higher than Arkansas. Its worse in the Fuck ESPN poll as Arkansas is at #18 with Texas at #13. Just funnier in this poll with Texas one spot higher. That hopefully will be corrected next week. Oh and no shocker as Michigan and Ohio St. flip spots. Notre Dame does drop out...barely. 1. Oklahoma 2. Miami 3. Michigan 4. USC 5. Ohio State 6. Kansas State 7. Georgia 8. Virginia Tech 9. Pittsburgh 10. Florida State 11. LSU 12. Tennessee 13. Texas 14. Arkansas 15. Nebraska 16. Arizona State 17. Florida 18. Iowa 19. Washington 20. TCU 21. Alabama 22. Oregon 23. Missouri 24. Washington St. 25. Purdue Dropped out: Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Colorado, Wake Forest, N.C. State, South Carolina Other receiving votes: 26. Notre Dame 27. Minnesota 28. N.C. State 29. Northern Illinois 30. Bowling Green 31. Texas A&M 32t. Virginia 32t. Wisconsin 34. Colorado 35. Louisville 36. Wake Forest 37. Boise State 38. Boston College 39. Colorado State 40. Air Force 41. lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 being a Michigan fan and student, I actually want Ohio State to go undefeated all the way up when they play the Wolverines.
