Oh, and I would have watched the Bayou Classic, but Tennessee/Kentucky was on at the same time and was (unfortunately) a close game until the final Tennessee touchdown, so it's not because I'm a southern white bastard.

Myself, I don't really care much for football, and I care even less for college football, but there are three games I watch every year: GT/Georgia (since I went to GT), Navy/Army (since I'm in the Navy), and the Bayou Classic (since it's the FUCKING BAYOU CLASSIC~!).

Which is sad because that's basically his fault. You can't even use the "Black QB not getting a chance" or the "small college QB not getting a chance" argument. He's the Black Jared Lorenzen, except Lorenzen is a little more built and not as jiggly. 2. I'll still watch the game every year, but it's lost some it's luster since Eddie Robinson retired. 3. Because of the Bayou Classic, neither is eligible to compete in the I-AA playoffs Why? What's the story behind this? 4. It sucks how they don't even show the whole halftime show anymore. NBC is so antsy to cater to their advertisers that they started cutting away from the bands to show more commericals. 5. Speaking of halftime, here's how I'd run it: No ass-kissing formations (NBC, USA, State Farm, etc.), no more people talking over the PA system, and each band must play at least one current song and one old-school song (not just band songs).

I don't think you have to worry about that as I'm pretty sure the BCS wants a Miami/Ohio State re-match no matter what....if that was what you were thinking.

Walt Harris of Pittsburgh is rumored to replace him. Oh and since it wasn't posted but I'm sure everyone knows by now, Mike Stoops was named the new Arizona coach. He'll still be Oklahoma's defensive coordinator for the Big XII title game but won't be there for the Sugar Bowl.

The Bayou Classic is always held during the first or second week of the I-AA playoffs, so there's no point in scheduling either team to compete in them.

I was going to explain why that won't happen but said "fuck it" and here is explanation from collegebcs.com: At-large teams can earn guaranteed selection in the following ways (in order of preference): 1. Finish first or second in the BCS rankings. 2. Finish in the top six of the BCS standings as an independent team or team from a non-BCS conference. If a team besided Notre Dame qualifies in this manner, then the Irish would also automatically qualify by winning 9 non-exempt games or finishing in the top 10 in the BCS standings. 3. Be the highest rated at-large team remaining and finish either third or fourth in the BCS rankings. Only one team can automatically qualify under this provision. Don't worry...Minnesota will be spending New Year's Eve in lovely El Paso.

Thought he'd post the story. espn.com Even as an ardent 'Husker hater this surprised me Before the season was even over... a winning season... and fired right after a win I could understand them firing him last year (when he went 6-6) but this baffles me Hell, it took Osborne 23 years before he ever won a national championship (with a couple shots here and there), and Solich did get his shot in '01 (undeservedly, but that's another story)

God....missed most of the second half of my ISU/Mizz game just to listen to him drone on like a fucking idiot. He kept saying "There's no magic formula to win football games" then turned around and said "USC has a great formula that we are going to model ourselves after." Then said "Talent is overrated. They'll come to realize how good a coach they might have run off when the next guy struggles to hit .500 with Stolich's recruits.

Unfortunately they're 2-2 in the previous HUGE games (Beat Purdue and N. Illinois, lost to OSU and Miami (ohio)) The good news is it's in Bowling Green...and teams don't just walk in and win games in Bowling Green. They can wash away their big loss to Miami and claim the MAC in what has been a big year for the MAC.
