Baylor getting the boot from the Big 12?

Recommended Posts

"How long a season will it be at Baylor when North Texas blows out the Bears 52-14? Losing to a Sun Belt team may be enough to stir up talk about booting Baylor out of the Big 12. The Bears play a desperation game Saturday against SMU. A loss to the Mustangs severely threatens Baylor's recruiting in the critical Dallas-Fort Worth area. "

How about this?

I'd love for Arkansas to come to the Big 12, but the SEC probably wouldn't like that much

Baylor would end up in the WAC or somewhere if kicked out of the Big 12.

Any comments about Baylor and the Big 12?

I would think Arkansas would be the best fit, so they could renew their rivalry with Texas, whom I think they are actually playing this year anyway. But they could do it yearly. It's been a long time coming for Baylor to get the ax in the Big 12.

Gee, they make it sound like we're a bad team or something (yeah yeah yeah, Sun Belt, I know). As for Baylor, I'm surprised they've stayed Big 12 this long. Hell, even in Waco, Baylor tends to be thought of more as a joke than anything else, and the only reason anyone really goes to their football games is for the George's Party Zone across the street from Floyd Casey Stadium. Hell, I think their women's basketball team gets more local support than their football team. And after the problems the Baylor athletic department has been dealing with this summer as it is, it really wouldn't surprise me, since they're already in a world of shit with the NCAA as it is.

The thing is, Baylor is usually very competitive in the Big 12 in everything EXCEPT football. They've won a lot of conference championships over the years in other sports, so it isn't as if they're totally outclassed or anything. Their football program just really, really sucks. Unfortunately, so will their basketball team now....
