Time Warner Cable can go to hell

Recommended Posts

As you might have noticed in the One and Only Thread, I was rather highly pissed off by about 8:30 because I ordered the show tonight and stared at a black screen for about the first five minutes. Seeing as I can stare at a black screen with the TV off for free, I call the cable company and get the nice little prerecorded message saying that "We are upgrading our digital services, so you may experience problems with IControl and PPV until Thursday morning." This is really stupid, as they never sent anything in the mail stating that they were upgrading the system, nor did any message pop up when I ordered telling me there'd be a problem, so I'm expecting to see a PPV, dammit. So they put me on hold for about 5 minutes or so, and I explain the situation. They apologize, credit the account (for a penny. I'm fucking rich now), and assure me that when I order the replay, it should be fine.

So I order the 10pm replay. This is at about 8:20 at this point. Check on the Indians game, accidentally bump the remote, and poof, about 8:30 TNA is on (maybe two minutes after my post in the OaO thread. Well, I've already ordered the 10pm replay, so no point watching it now when I'm seeing it in 90 minutes. Flip back at 9:55, and I'm seeing the Raven-Douglas promos. OK, cool. 9:59 hits, I get the "Thank You For Your Order" screen with the countdown to the start of the show. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 10:00....and I'm staring at the same goddamn black screen that I've already thrown a hissy fit about. OK, partially my fault since the recording said there might be a problem until Thursday morning, but since I just saw the last three minutes of the first showing, I figure it's been taken care of at that point.

So another call to the cable company (this time the prerecorded message is telling me there will be problems until Friday evening...WTF?), and this time I'm on hold for over 15 minutes waiting to talk to somebody. Again I explain the situation, again I get my penny credited to my account, and this time I'm assured that they're only working on the system at night, so as long as I order the all day ticket before 9pm tomorrow then there should be no problem whatsoever.

Needless to say that if I tune in around 11am and stare at another black screen, heads are going to roll at my cable company.

And my dad just told me the replay's on now...only 48 minutes late. How fucking hard is it to have something air when it's supposed to?

That makes NO sense...Jhawk...we both have TWDC and it worked PERFECT for me...

I ordered at 8:02 and it started right away and never had problems

Maybe it was only in my area, Choken, but I shit you not, I tried twice tonight and missed at least the first 25 minutes both times.

It didn't make any sense to me either, and I'm the one it happened to.

I was the big spender tonight and bought both the 8pm AND the 10pm showings of tonight's TNA show (broke the bank!). I have TWDC down off campus here at OU in Athens and it worked fine both showings. Sounds like you had some bad luck.

I have a sweet Time Warner story from last night as well. The last two weeks we have had to get the replay at my friends house because he gets home from work at 7:45 & then has to sit on the phone for 15 minutes waiting, then the person say he cannot authorize the order because the account is over 200 dollars (internet access, digital cable, WWE PPV's & TNA)

So last night I got there early and got to a guy at about 7:50, he talked to his supervisor and he said until we made a payment to knock down the bill we could not order the 1 CENT PPV! So once my friend got back, he made the payment and then was on hold, he talked to a person at 8:32 and we could not order the 8 o'clock show because it was 2 minutes past authorization time!
