Used video scores

The record stores that I usually find wrestling videos and DVDs at have been sadly lacking as of late. Last night, I went into one of them looking for any recent additions to the wrestling DVD section and was about to leave after once again realizing that all they had was shitty WWE crap that I don't want. And as I was walking out, I went past the video wall and saw...

-ECW Hardcore History

-ECW Wrestlepalooza '97

-ECW Heat Wave '98

-ECW Anarchy Rulz '99

-ECW The Best of Cactus Jack

-Hitman Hart: Wrestling With Shadows.

Hitman Hart was $3.95 while the rest were $5.95 each. You're damn right I bought all of them. I watched the first three on the list last night and got a kick out of them all in various degrees.

Is the Cactus Jack video in the same format as the Dudley Boyz video, meaning Joey Styles rants on and on about Cactus while showing quick clips of certain matches? If that is so, that will annoy the hell out of me and I'll take the damn thing back.

Okay, I guess y'all can now tell me if the videos I haven't watched yet suck or rule or whatever. Have at it. Just thought I'd share.

It's that format, but it shows alot more full matches. Worth keeping just for the promos.

That Cactus DVD is my favorite ECW one. The promos are awesome, most of the matches are good & Foley is just God.

Are these on DVD or VHS? Because if DVD, the Wrestling With Shadows hunt begins...

STEVIE: Full matches and promos means I'll probably keep it. I hated the Dudleys video because all it was was Styles shilling the Duds while only showing clips of matches and then a way-too-long promo before they left ECW. I can handle the Styles shilling as long as there are complete matches, or at least most of them...then again, I haven't watched the video, so I shouldn't count my chickens just yet.

SLACKER: I got them all on VHS. Sorry to get your hopes up.

I don't think it's been released on DVD yet.

Jay Spree hinted at a DVD release later this year... WITH DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY.

Good stuff, man. Not exactly the greatest finds (Especially living in England) but those prices are insane.

It's true, they aren't incredible scores or anything (Rowdy Roddy Piper's Greatest Hits for $5.95, more like), but those videos are good to have for a collection. I'm on the West Coast, so I didn't get to see much ECW and my cable company didn't have TNN. The videos and DVDs I pick up used at the local record stores I go to will suffice and for the price that most of them are, I'm not really going wrong here. For some ECW and FMW DVDs I did pay what I considered a steep price for DVDs simply because I was bored and wanted to see more people get hit with chairs I guess.

But for instance, Barely Legal for $7 on DVD? Most of the matches honestly suck in hindsight--the glaring sloppiness of the Eliminators/Dudleys match comes to mind immediately and RVD's match isn't far behind--but in comparison to how much most DVDs seem to cost, it's totally worth it to me for that and the *historical significance* behind it. I'd rather have the actual pay-per-views though, as well as camcorder house show matches, but I'll take what I can get for the time being. Can't watch the current products on TV anyway because of work and money, and apparently I'm better off. But I'll still play Smackdown: SYM in which Triple H, Undertaker, and Stone Cold still manage to hold down RVD and no-sell all of his moves. What the hell...
