Guest El Satanico Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 It's the new HBO show, which hasn't been talked about much. It premiered tonight and I'm watching the west coast feed now. It's some prime grade bizarrity. If the storyline lives up to it's great look and atmosphere this will be a great show. If you're a fan of crazy bizarre stuff, you need to check it out. Carnivale
ulfistgut Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 It looked interesting from what I've seen. Mike Anderson (Dwarf from Twin Peaks) has said that its "Everything Twin Peaks promised to be) Of course, I've got to wait until someone decides to pick it up in the UK
Guest Crux Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 I watched it and it was pretty good, imo. There were some parts where the story kinda lagged, but Im thinking it'll pick up more steam as it goes along.
HarleyQuinn Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I just saw it and liked it quite a bit, looks very interesting and as Crux said, should pick up steam with the next few episodes.
Downhome Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I'm going to download this first episode seeing how I missed it. What would you compare the style and feel to? Do you think it has the legs to last as long as an Oz or a Sopranos? I love the concept, and I'm sure I'll love it. I love most of everything that HBO puts out.
Guest El Satanico Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I doubt it will have the staying power of Sopranos and Oz. It's too strange and off the wall to gain the support Sopranos and Oz received. The show you can best compare it to is something like Twin Peaks, except it's not just strange for the sake of being strange.
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I think it has a chance to have as much staying power as the likes of Oz and The Sopranos, but the right people have got to find it and give it a chance. I think a legion of X-Files fans have been bored with TV lately, so hopefully some of them have HBO. Anyways, as a fan of weird shit like this, I enjoyed the first episode very much. Clancy Brown (Brother Justin) rules, so I'm hoping he goes totally schitzo by the end of the first season. We could see some great stuff from his character. Anyone else think that "Management" isn't God, but rather Satan?
