Anya 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 I LOVE the way he says he wants Wes to understand this is Angel, not Angelus.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 season 2 of buffy is on fx now, yesterday had the ep Ted with superb acting by the late John Ritter. Its amazing to me his ability to play both comedic and dramatic roles. and xan obssessing over the min-pizzas is funny too. and as i think about it, the whole xan/cord thing was lame. she was using him and wouldnt even tell anyone at first. Ya cant really blame him for kissing another girl I mean he said it himself buffy quote of the day Xander: Im 16, looking at the linoleum (floor) makes me think of sex angel season 3 now on tnt, yesterday had the one where the old man enters angels body. funny part when the old guy in angel thinks Wes is Fred, who cordy asked him to tell that they cant ever be together in that way lmao angel quote of the day Lorne: I like to go be Lorne, but its weird cuz of the yknow (points to skin) Angel: Lorne Greene everyone else: huh? Angel: Cmon Bonaanza does 18 years ont eh air mean anything to you guys
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 24, 2004 I love the Bonanza humor. It's just amazingly shocking because that whole thing builds like he's going to forgive him. The only two other moments that come close were killing Lindsay and Angel shutting the door on Wolfram and Hart, though both being bad guys kinda justified those things. I think seeing Reprise and finding out LA was the home office was pretty shocking, but nothing just straight up like that.
Anya 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 Darla dying of a STD and Dru re-siring her was shocking to me.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 hey, wasn't the "previously on BTVS" thing from The Gift supposed to be on the season 6 set? Is it like an Easter Egg or something?
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 Holy Crap, I totally forgot about Angel shutting the doors on WR&H. At the time, that was like "DID HE JUST DO THAT??!?". Fucking awesome stuff. You won't see that on other shows. The way they had WR&H playing around with Darla and Angel and thinking they had full control over the situation. Thinking that they held the leash. These rich humans playing with fire and getting burned. How smug they were sitting in the basement with their wine tasting and the fear that filled the room and the powerlessness from the realization that they weren't in control - they never were -; you can't see that on other shows because other shows wouldn't let their hero let those people die. And the Lindsey thing... I read the spoilers. I read it. I still was fucking shocked when I saw it. So cold. So very cold.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 Oh yeah, Angel shutting the doors. That's tied with them taking out his soul
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 25, 2004 I don't know, they were still the bad guys to me and I was like, "Angle should have done that earlier". Sure, it went against his mission, but they were the bad guys. Did they ever explain how the Beast got into the White Room? Was it through Angel's memory? Guest Brian Report post Posted July 26, 2004 Just watched Home. Cried at the end. I'm going to have to watch "Heartthrob" again and get a full grasp on the Connor arc.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 Well, Innosence was on today. Weird seeing old-school Buffy eps again. forgot how weird the camera work was. I've decided to do a massive Buffy/Angel marathon once I get season 7 of Buffy and Seasons 4 & 5 of Angel, which means, I guess, that it will be put off untill next year. Any idea when season 5 of Angel will be released?
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 27, 2004 Well, I'm ready through episode 10 whenever Tony gets me episode 7. Here's the titles to the first six episodes, sans number five which was Rudo's so he can title it however he wants. Here we go: Episode 1: “Pilot” Brave New World Episode 2: Defender Episode 3: Mercenaries Episode 4: Trust Episode 5: Episode 6: Ghosts of the Past Here's previews for the next couple of episodes: Episode 8: The Lamb Rudy finally gets his meeting with Connor, where Connor finds out that he's more than he looks. Episode 9: Darwinism What has the demons running scared above ground? Kent searches for answers while Connor deals with the consequences. Episode 10: Life During Wartime Kent reveals the secret the Order of Soraska has been hiding and tries to get Connor and Eliana ready, while the group gets a visit from a higher power. Guest Brian Report post Posted July 29, 2004 How much better would Season Two have been with more Angellus-centric episodes? I'm watching Season Two now and if they had done more episodes like "Passions", it would have been freaking awesome.
Steve J. Rogers 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Hey here is a theory about "did Angel REALLY sign away his Shanshu prophesey?" Think about it for a second, "The Vampire With A Soul's" name really is "Liam" no questions asked right? Angelus was always a nickname, the way Spike was a nickname for "William The Bloddy" and Angel shortened it to Angel, I guess as part of his "breaking away from his past" and he didn't want to frighten anyone if he said his name was "Angelus" So, on a legally binding contract, who in their right mind are EVER going to sign with a nickname? And a shortened version of the nickname at that? Is that even CONSIDERED a legal document? Oh I don't think so! So what does Angel sign as as he signs away the Shanshu? "Angel" Maybe I'm just grapsing at straws, who knows... Steve
Mole 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Yeah, that is streching it. The way I look at it is that he did sign away the Shanshu because he doesn't care about it. Connor is the Shanshu to him, as he said so in "Not Fade Away." Well he didn't out right say that, but he sort of said it. And I haven't watched an Angel/Buffy episode in about 3-4 weeks until last night. I just wanted to give them a break for a while, but I changed my mind last night after I took a nap at 8 and couldn't fall asleep at night. So I watched "Smile Time" which stands as the funniest episode in Whedonverse history. I then watched the Faith turn arc of season 3, "Doppelgängland," "Enemies," "Earshot," and "Choices." Those four episodes are one of the main reasons I love Buffy/Angel so much. All of the foreshadowing (Willow being Gay, Anya/Xander, etc.), Angel and Buffy's relationship, the Mayor, and the Faith arc. They did such a damn good job at turning Faith into someone you just hate, it is amazing. And they basically did it in 5 episodes.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 How much better would Season Two have been with more Angellus-centric episodes? I'm watching Season Two now and if they had done more episodes like "Passions", it would have been freaking awesome. We're talking Buffy season 2, where Passion = Angelus snuffing out Jenny Calender? That's probably IMO the best Buffy episode. Just amazing all the way through. Angelus drawing Buffy/Joyce/Willow while they slept, killing Willow's fish, the whole interplay between Giles/Jenny/Buffy/Willow. And, of course, Angelus getting iced champagne and covering Giles' apartment with roses leading up to Jenny's corpse in the bed. Angelus' voiceover about the ecstacy of grief, Giles' going nuts with a flaming bat. So good. Maybe one of the best Buffyverse eps ever, though there were some really great Angel eps the last few seasons.
Mole 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Only "Apacolypse Nowish" ranks higher than "Passion." And I watched "Not Fade Away" a few weeks ago and I don't think it will stand the time. I wasn't into as much as I was before, and that isn't just because it was the last episode. I just wasn't into it.
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I need to see Apocalypse Nowish again, once the DVD's come out plus it'll be in re-runs in early September on TNT. I haven't seen Not Fade Away in a while, but A Hole in the World stands up really well. But we always talk about how great Season Four would have been if the Beast would have gone the whole show, what about Season Two of Buffy if they had spent more time with Angellus? As for signing over the prophesy, it didn't matter since he had already sanshu'd at that point, and had really done so back in Season Three with the birth of Connor. BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 But we always talk about how great Season Four would have been if the Beast would have gone the whole show, what about Season Two of Buffy if they had spent more time with Angellus? While more Angelus would've been cool it would've cut down on Spike's time as a big bad, once Angelus came into the picture he became just a sideman.
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 30, 2004 But there were episodes in between Innocence and Becoming that didn't have Angellus as the central point, which was what I was getting at.

Anya 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I watched Dopplegangland today. It's soo good. I was thinking about Pangs. Anya has this line where she sees Angel and goes "so this is angel?" as if they'd never met. This got me thinking. She is in DopplegangLand, The Prom and Grad Day 1 yet never met Angel? Surely they did! So I watched Dopplegangland to be sure. It's weird to think of how Angel's crew like has never met Buffy's. Like Anya has met Angel ONCE. Xander wouldn't even know Gunn exists. Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 half of Angel's Avengers were ON Buffy
Anya 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Yeah, but the other half has never even seen the Buffy people. Also nobody on Buffy past the high school years ever met Angel's people. Andrew talking to Fred is cool.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I loved Willow and Fred's interaction in Season 4. Too bad there wasn't more. Heck, Willow's interaction with everyone was great. Her chat with Evil Cordy, her chat with Broody Wes. All good.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I was always hoping for a Giles cameo if only to see his reaction to the changes in Wes.
