The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Fuck. I love Awakening. I love the little things to it, like Connor repeating part of Angel's speech from "Deep Down", Wes apologizing, and Connor being pretty likeable at the end.

And then Lilah says it again in "Home". This episode is so fucking rocking it.

one quick query for you guys, what's up with all this love for Beast?  What's so cool about him, he was a lame puppydog puppet for Cordy/Jasmine and got beat by a piece of himself, pretty lame for the all powerful one.  I guess you guys think hes a better villian than evil cordelia(probably right there)  or even jasmine or somethin right?

Hey, dipshit, use the fucking SPOILER tags, m'kay?

OOOH Im very sorry!!!!! I thought everyone on here had already seen s4. My bad. How do you do the spoiler tags anyhow?

once again I am so sorry honestly

Eh, sorry for freaking out - I was just in a bad mood when I wrote that anyway. ;)

Spoiler tags, for future reference are (spoiler) SPOILER TEXT HERE (/spoiler) -- but use [ ] brackets instead.

Would it kill them to be a little more creative with the DVD boxart?

Season 1, Angel in the forground, Cordy in the background, vamp Angel pic in the corner.

Season 2, Angel in the forground, Cordy in the background, vamp Angel pic in the corner.

Season 3, Angel in the forground, Cordy in the background, vamp Angel pic in the corner.

Season 4, Angel in the forground, Cordy in the background, vamp Angel pic in the corner.

Everything isn't supposed to be 100% peachy keen all of the time.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean I can't be sad when something does go bad for my characters.

It's going to suck when S5 doesn't follow the formula. So it'll be Angel/Cordy except for one...

What about "Spin The Bottle" commentary?

We need to just go down the list and watch Season 4 together. All working on the same episodes, maybe starting with a tournament theme.

They need more commentary from the cast. They should re-release the DVDs with commentary for every ep. Commentary is great.

Yeah, "Spin the Bottle" commentary was awesome. However "AN" is my favorite episode, you know that Brian, so listening them talk about it is awesome. Epsecially hearing them rant about how amazing the episode is.

Of course. But listening to Wes and Joss was a big highlight for me.

Go vote in the tournament.

I can't wait to hear the commentary on Selfless.

Gavin looks a lot more intimidating than lindsay.

Lindsay was so great. Gavin had nothing on him, because Lindsay embodied this ambiguously moral character that they never let him develop into. Plus, Lindsay was a badass swordfighter.

Gavin just comes off as really creepy.

I like it whenever he or Lindsay would argue with Lilah.

Okay, I just watched Tomorrow and I think I noticed something

When Cordelia is rising up, there are little flickers of energy around what I assume is the portal (it's where the light is coming from). Is it just me or did they look like the ones from the portal to Quar-Toth that Connor came back through?

I think that it was just cheaper for them to use old SE.

"Home" is so beautiful. Everything comes together so well. Blood magic. The "Champion" speech. Love is sacrifice (which goes all the way back to "Heartthrob, not just Sacrifice). Free will. The Father Will Kill the Son. The better lie. Saving his family. It's like "The Gift".

It's up there in Gift territory in terms of resolution. It "fit" the Connor Saga so perfectly and it went against everything that Angel was fighting for against Jasmine (free will), but since it was his son and he was a father, it changed his normal view on things.

I'm having trouble getting into Angel S4 now, watching it on DVD.

Darkness Falls is kind of cool.

I'm through Inside Out, so just starting the actual Jasmine arc. Incredible season, even better on DVD really. I don't like Evil Cordy, but she didn't seem as annoying as she did last time I watched season 4.

I love this.

I thought 4 started a little slow, then picked up great for the middle run...but once Jasmine showed up I got the "what the hell is this now?" feeling. But everything with The Beast is just some of the best Buffyverse stuff ever
