The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Recommended Posts

Heh. I was actually insinuating that your opinion is held in such low regard amongst fellow Smarks members that what you say holds little to no weight in any argument or discussion.

How do you know what others think about my credibility? Just because they argue with what I say doesn't mean it holds no weight. Actually, why would they argue with me so much if what I say means nothing?

Whatever though. If you're right that kinda sucks, but oh well.

You're pretty mean.

I disgree with your statement that Warren was a better villian because, and I quote, "Warren is hilarious. That makes him better." Ok... since when does comedy make a better villain?

When I say so.

a villain by definition, is a wicked or evil person. How wicked can an evil person be if they make you laugh and laugh often? I think the ideal villain is menacing, dark, violent and most of all, ruthless.

Normally I agree, but Warren isn't just funny. He's REALLY funny. He's like the best!

The Trio, on the other hand, were not menacing, nor dark or ruthless... they were funny and borderline huggable (Come on! Who doesn't wanna hug Jonathan!? Poor guy).

They're not just borderline huggable.

Jonathan is the least cute though.

I mean really, did anyone ever once want to hug The Beast?

Rudo.

"Actually, why would they argue with me so much if what I say means nothing?"

Some things just can't be left alone.

"You're pretty mean."

I've been at work for six hours, it makes me grouchy.

"When I say so."

Haha.

"Normally I agree, but Warren isn't just funny. He's REALLY funny. He's like the best!"

I wouldn't go that far. No doubt he kicks ass, but the best? I was more of an Andrew fan.

"They're not just borderline huggable. Jonathan is the least cute though."

Well, they're borderline huggable for me as I'd like to remain masculine, hehe. Johnathan may be "least cute", but I have the most sympathy for him.

Episode 12, "Cargo":

Previously:

Angel, Spike, and Illyria are facing a legion of demons.

Angel: Let’s get to work.

Cut to Connor getting pulled back into the Hyperion.

Kent: This is his fight, not yours.

Show a view of the city in ruins.

Rudy, v.o.: Our time will come, boy. Then we’ll see what you’re made of.

Cut to a member of the Order of Soraska pulling out the books out of the Hyperion ruins.

Lone, v.o.: As for right now, you’re searching for the Order of Soraska. Powerful group of guys.

Cut to Connor slashing Rudy under his eye with the stake, with Rudy already bruised and battered, then Rudy falling out the window.

Connor, v.o.: Is it over?

Cut to the Order of Soraska killing Rudy and proceeding with their ceremony. Flash to show the three members dead along their symbol. Cut to Kent translating the symbols, writing “DEATH WILL RISE”.

Scene 1:

<Connor pulls the sword back and above his head. Camera zooms back to block a demon’s long black, hardened fingers as he tries to slash Connor from above. The demon is brownish green. He dips it pointing to the ground and blocks a swipe to the midsection. Connor spins back and pushes a girl away from him. Connor hits a left cross to the demon face. He swings the blade and spins but misses and the demon lands a swipe on his chest, ripping his shirt. The demon hits a left uppercut, driving some of his finger into Connor’s chin and leaving a small hole, while sending Connor a few feet back. The demon steps forward, but Kent and Eliana cut him off on their motorcycle. Eliana shoots an arrow at its arm, landing on the left shoulder as she gets off the bike. The demon to swipe at her with his left but Kent takes out his katana and blocks the fingers.>

Kent: Get to Connor.

<Eliana runs over. Kent continues fighting, trying to get his blade on the demon’s body. Connor throws him his sword and Kent catches, using both blades to take shots at the demon. He tries multiple strikes but they all get blocked.>

Eliana: Are you going to be alright?

Connor: I’ll be better.

<Kent has both blades caught by the demon, who leaps and headbutts Kent. He falls back, as the demon looks eagerly at Kent. Connor grabs the demon from behind, in a headlock. Kent whips out his mini crossbow and hit the demon in the abdomen. Connor snaps its neck. Connor heads over to the girl who is crouched in the corner.>

Connor: Don’t worry. It’s safe now. We’re going to get you out of here

Girl: I don’t get it.

Connor: It’s okay now. We’re here to help, I’m Connor, this is Kent, and over there is Eliana.

Girl: I’m Connie. What is that?

Connor: It doesn’t matter anymore. We’re going to do things right around here.

<Fade to opening>

Scene 2:

<Cut to inside their lair. Eliana and Connie are sitting at the table, talking. Connor and Kent are across the room in the weapons closet.>

Eliana: How have you been surviving out there?

Connie: I’ve been hiding in basements, closets, bathrooms, or whatever.

Eliana: I got picked up pretty early. My parents, they died out there. Same as Connor’s.

Connie: Mine too. I wonder why I survived, why they had to die. I’d give my life if they could come back.

Eliana: You can’t spend too much time living in the past around here. <She looks at Connor> The memories hurt more than this sometimes. And they could get you killed out here.

Connie: It must be nice having people to be around.

Eliana: They’ve kept me alive.

Connie: But just having someone to talk with.

Eliana: There are no other survivors out there?

Connie: There were some but we separated to get away. It’s still hard to believe it’s all gone.

<Cut to Connor and Kent.>

Kent: When night falls and the vampires head above ground, we’ll take the sewers until we hit the outskirts of the city. There should be some barricades and guards along the road that we can get her to.

Connor: She’s lucky she gets to leave this.

Kent: It’s not our place to delve into possibilities that would never come up. We have our place in this world, our role to serve, our destiny to fulfill.

Connor: It’d be nice though.

<Kent grabs the bag of throwing stars and attaches them to his belt.>

Kent: Of course it would be. So would cake and ice cream on a sunny day.

<Kent grabs the double-headed axe.>

Connor: Are you heading out?

Kent: Yes, and so are you.

Connor: Where am I headed?

Kent: We need Ronin to help in the transport. We don’t know what’s underground anymore, the way things have changed.

Connor: And where are you going?

Kent: I need answers to these symbols. I need to figure out what were looking for. Something’s coming.

Connor: We already know that. The big DEATH is on its way. Watch out demons, it’s DEATH coming to put you to DEATH for all the DEATH you’ve caused.

Kent: That’s a little overdoing it Connor. I still have one more symbol to decipher. I can’t find it anywhere.

<Connor grabs the broad sword and katana, strapping the latter’s sheath to his belt.>

Connor: Let’s go to work.

<Kent and Connor walk over to Eliana and Connie.>

Kent: You two stay here. Pull the weapons out if you need them.

Connor: Take care of yourselves. We’ll be back soon.

<Kent and Connor walk through the opening into the sewer tunnels.>

Connie: Connor’s quite the hero isn’t he?

<Cut to Kent and Connor walking in the sewers. Connor starts picking up speed and stats running towards the end, as Kent follows slowly. Connor clashes with a demon, who is also armed with a sword and some armor. The duel, but Connor eventually overcomes by kicking the blade out of the demons hand and slicing him slightly along the side of his stomach. He pulls the sword up to slice off its head. Kent, still walking up, pulls out a needle and grabs Connor by the arm. He stabs the demon in the neck.>

Connor: What are you doing? What’s that?

Kent: A little truth serum and some temporary paralysis.

<Connor grabs Kent by the arm, turning him around.>

Connor: Did you forget this is a demon? Did the rules change around here?

Kent: You’ll still get to kill him. Just let him talk first. Find out what’s going on. We’re still in the dark.

<Kent slaps the demon in the face.>

Kent: Hey buddy, what’s going on outside? Why you running?

Demon: Death.

Kent: We got that part already.

Demon: Look into their faces. Find your answer.

Kent: Not much in terms of faces to look at.

Demon: See its eyes.

<Connor brings his sword down in the demon’s temple.>

Connor: I told you we were wasting our time.

<Connor walks away. Kent is left staring at him.>

Kent: I thought you were going to show some restraint.

<Cut to black.>

Scene 3:

<Cut to the samurai eating at his table, with the door taken out of his house. Connor steps up to the entrance and knocks.>

Connor: Hey.

Ronin: Hello.

Connor: We could use your help today.

Ronin: You want me to help you hunt?

Connor: No. We’ve found a girl, and we’re going to smuggle her out of here.

Ronin: You want me to help you transport cargo?

Connor: No, it’s a person we’re getting out of here.

Ronin: And it’s a waste of my time. We should be killing out there, taking this thing back, not wasting our time saving a few lives. What about the millions who have already suffered the worst of fates?

Connor: We get by saving what few we can, and we cherish their memory by doing what’s right.

Ronin: You’re mission isn’t about right, it’s about satisfaction. Out here, the weak die, and we are the strong. A few people end up as casualties along the way, but the big picture is we solve things. You want to satisfy your soul, because the weight of people dying is too heavy for you. You can’t stomach the reality. In the end, a few trees fall so we can save the forest.

<Connor starts to leave.>

Connor: I don’t know if you can see the forest.

<Cut to Kent, entering the shop.>

Kent: I see you’re closing up a little earlier today.

Shopkeeper: Sun’s starting to fall a little earlier. A lot of strange people hang around out there at night, and a proprietor has no business in staying open for them.

<Kent does a double-take.>

Kent: You could say that.

Shopkeeper: Were you looking for anything specific?

Kent: No, just browsing. I was searching for answers, though.

Shopkeeper: Always looking for question to field.

Kent: Not really a question, because I know you’re the one behind it. I just need to know why.

Shopkeeper: Why?

Kent: You arrive, and soon after there’s massive slaughtering on the street. You rattle the cages, have your fun. I know you’re behind it.

Shopkeeper: That’s an entertaining story and all, but if you’re not going to buy anything… <points at “No Loitering” sign>

Kent: We’re on to your games.

Shopkeeper: Games are in the left-hand corner, with the playing cards, water balloons, and squirt guns.

Kent: We’ll meet again.

Shopkeeper: Have a nice day. Come back soon.

<Kent leaves through the door as the shopkeeper looks on.>

<Fade to black.>

Scene 4:

<Connor, Connie, and Eliana are talking in the lair. Kent walks in, obviously frustrated.>

Kent: Grab your things; Connor and Eliana, let me get what I want you carrying.

<Kent head straight to the weapons cabinet. He grabs the katana and crossbow, handing them to Eliana.>

Kent: Think you can handle it?

Eliana: I want this.

<Kent grabs the broad sword, handing it to Connor. He attaches the spring-loaded crossbow to his forearm.>

Kent: Is he going to show up?

Connor: He thinks it’s below him.

Kent: Figures. That means you’re the lead, the fighter. We’re just support for you Connor.

Connor: I got it.

Kent: We’re going to keep this party tight. We stay together, fight together. We’ve got to be united on this one Connor.

Connor: No problem.

Kent: Connie, are you ready to get out of here?

Connie: As good as I’ll ever be.

<Kent puts the gun behind his back, tucked under his belt. He puts on his coat and grabs the double-headed axe.>

<Cut to above ground. The samurai is putting on some gear, looking out a window. A large shadow passes through an alley lit by fire.>

<Cut to the four standing near an opening in the sewers. Connor is in front listening, keeping the others back.>

Kent: What do you think about this? Do you here anything out there?

Connor: No. It’s silent. How far are we away from the city limits, where the guards should be?

Kent: There’s no path there, so we can either get out here or take the adjacent stop, about 500 yards to the south.

Connor: No, I’ll check this one out.

<Connor looks up the scurries up the ladder. He lifts the lid, then peaks his head out. Suddenly he flies out.>

Scene 5:

<Cut to the city streets. A 6’7”, muscular, black demon has him with one hand by the neck. It has two huge tusks that wrap around the chin and up to the mouth, and pupils that are dark black. The chest looks like it is layered with metal plates. Connor is struggling, using his hands to try and free himself of the grip while delivering hooks to the ribs that don’t seem to have any affect, as the demon breaks a smile.>

Eliana: Connor!

Demon: The boy.

<Connor struggles. Kent comes up through the manhole and shoots an arrow at the demon’s chest which deflects against his chest. The demon kicks Kent in the head, sending him down the manhole. Connor struggles to get free.>

<Camera cuts to Kent on his BUTT in the sewer pipe. Eliana and Connie are helping him get to his feet.>

Kent: Run. Get to the next opening.

<Kent struggles to get over as Connie and Eliana rush to the next manhole.>

<Cut to Connor getting thrown across into the wood column of a building’s porch. The demon walks very deliberately towards Connor. Connor gets up and shoots a stake at the demon, which hits it and falls to the ground, the point becoming blunt. The demon grabs Connor’s arm, squeezing tightly. It throws Connor up the street, as he bounces and skids.>

<Cut to Eliana and Connie emerging from the manhole. Kent climbs slowly behind, though both Connie and Eliana are frozen by the sight of Connor flailing towards them. Kent pulls himself up, bloody head and all, and covers Connor. Kent whips out his crossbow, and he and Eliana fire at the demon. It laughs as one of the arrows deflects while the other snaps in half. Connor looks up at Kent.>

Connor: Get them out of here.

<Kent rushes to the girls as they get away. Connor spins, kicking the legs up from the demon. Connor kips-up but the demon already has him by the neck. Connor throws a left and right but neither affects the demon. The demon drops Connor with clubbing blow to the head.>

<Cut to Connie, Kent, and Eliana, who are running away. Suddenly, the demon drops down in front of them. Kent swings at his face but the demon kicks him away. It backhands Eliana, then punches right through Connie. She looks down, then transform into a red, scaly human sized demon, before falling. Connor jumps back into the fight, hitting a kick, and sending the demon into the building wall. Connor follows after him. He fires a stake, catching it in his other hand. He tries to stab at the demon in the head, but the demon clutches Connor’s arm, staring directly into his eyes.>

Demon: Daltu.

<A shot rings out as the camera pans over to Kent holding the gun. Suddenly smoke fills the room from a pipe that was hit. The demon walks straight through the smoke, grabbing a two legged, hairy demon, looking into its eyes, and ripping off its head, in a nonchalant manner. Fade to black.>

Scene 6:

<Connor, Eliana, and Kent are all in the lair. Eliana is holding an ice pack next to her cheek. Kent has his shirt off, with heavily taped ribs. Connor has a towel wrapped around his head, already stained with blood.>

Connor: Connie was a demon.

Kent: A Grustair, shape shifter. It was so afraid of what was going on out there, of that thing, that it was willing to do whatever it took to get away.

Connor: I should have killed it.

Kent: We should have done a lot of things differently.

Eliana: What just happened out there?

Connor: That was real power. Not like the other. I want to go back out there and beat this guy.

Kent: We’re not risking ourselves out there again.

<Connor gets up, then clutches his side. Kent puts a hand on his shoulder, guiding him to the chair.>

Kent: Not this time. <Pauses> What did he say to you?

Connor: I couldn’t understand.

Kent: I’m trying to figure out why he didn’t kill you when he had the chance. That’s the only reason we were able to get away.

Connor: He cost himself. That’s all that matters. He made a mistake that’ll cost him his life.

Kent: We’re going to need to figure out what he said, and what he was. Was he the one they wrote about?

<Kent reaches into his desk drawer, pulling out the drawings and the words “DEATH WILL RISE”.>

Eliana: He lived up to the hype.

<Cut to a demon, running away. It has green, scaly skin, with bumps running from its temple to its cheek on each side. It hits a dead end in the alley.>

Green Demon: Please, I don’t hurt anyone. I don’t want to be here, I just can’t get out. I’m pleading with you.

<Up walks the black demon, who grabs him by the neck, and stares straight into its eyes.>

Demon: Alpu.

<The black demon sticks its fingers into the eyes of the green demon, emiting a light blue smoke which floats around the demon. It takes a big whiff of the smoke, then its eyes turn bright white and glow, the camera closing in on its eyes. Cut to black.>

I liked her more as time went on. She's kind of funny sometimes when she's sarcastic.

I hate it when she's in a crisis though. Like I was watching Older and Far Away yesterday. Yikes. The stealing story sucks. And who can forget..GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, Emma oversells in that ep. It's really awkward when she is all sad about Dawn stealing from the shop and that weird paranoia thing she has got going on.....and what's with the poodle skirt? That's up there with her pilgram outfit from grave when it comes to weird Anya attire. There are times when the costume directer really needs to be fired. Like Xander's big dot sweater in Yoko Factor! That's just awful!

Dawn was the worst.

Season 5: cry cry, nobody loves me.

Season 6: cry cry, nobody loved me

Season 6 last episode: Oh wait, I can fight now

Season 7: look at me, I went from crybaby to Bringerkiller in no time

Awful character development.

She is funny when she is sarcastic and when she bugs Buffy. All the scenes with Andrew in S7 are funny, like when she and Anya are "interogating" him. I like it when they're like throwing water at him and slapping him and Buffy comes in and they run over and sit on the couch like they're innocent.

We'll have to see how the voting goes then.

I finally saw "Life of the Party" today. Pretty good stuff. I liked Boreanaz acting in it alot.

Oops. I meant to say "Spin the Bottle". Those Lorne_cast_a_spell_wrong episodess.

Season Four was his strongest season as an actor, because he got to show a lot of depth and was really getting in a groove.

Whoa, "Leave the glasses on" was in AN? Man, I think I might agree with MoleWhedon on this one.

Yeah, you best.

And MoleWhedon was SO five weeks ago. :P

I was about to say, he didn't really do anything in "Life of the Party."

And most of the Angelus stuff was improvised by David. Angelus was soo much better in season 4, I think that is because he grew as an actor.

When they first had David become Angelus, they weren't sure if he could pull it off. I mean I don't blame them, they found them when he was walking his dog.

David's acting is so bad in the Buffy/Angel scenes. It's still kind of awkward even as far as Angel season 5. He makes this weird, goofy looking face all the time. Usually when he's sad.

I am watchin OMWF now. This is better than anything on Angel!

Ya know I was thinking today about "OMWF."

Why did Xander ask about what was going on, when he knew all along that he was the one who did it? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Yeah, that makes no sense. He says something stupid about it, like he wanted he and Anya to have a happy ending. Uh, ok..
