The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

And why is this the case?

Angel is not as watchable as Buffy. It's not as funny and charming. Also, I just saw the whole season about 2 months ago.

That is why I LOVE Angel season 4 and Buffy season 6; it is soo damn dark. I am a BIG fan when a show gets all dark and different.

Buffy S6 is very watchable. It's dark, but still really funny.

Angel S4 eps bleed into each other so much. Buffy has more viariaty, with Angel it's all one big story, which gets more boring in repeat viewings.

Buffy S6 is so much better than any Angel season. OMWF alone tops anything on Angel.

Tabula Rasa is a lot better than Spin The Bottle.

Warren is a lot better than Jasmine.

Hells Bells is amazing.

One big story = boring? You're on crack.

On Buffy, it's like you never know what wacky situation they'll get into next. Like in S6 sure there's the main arc but there's also...

Everyone sings and dances!

Everyone loses their memory!

Buffy is invisible!

It keeps it really interesting and fun to watch. Angel S4 is just one big story. It's like "24" or something. Fine the first time, but not as fun to watch over and over.

Warren is god.

Everyone lost their memory in season 4 Angel, everybody was all worshipping Jasmine (which kinda tied in with the overall arc, too), they went to Vegas, Gunn did the spy/theif thing with Gwen, and Angelus and Faith watched Angel save a puppy

But there's also good arcs, like Buffy being depressed and the Xanya engagement.

Doublemeat Palace is really funny too.

Spin the Bottle is good, but is not as good as Tabula Rasa. Randy Giles and the Anya/Giles shippage is too good.

The House Always Wins is not that good....

Players is not that good.....

I'm not a fan of Faith.

Buffy being depressed was a horrible arc. "I was dead, now I'm back, now I have so many responsibilities, oh my life sucks, SPIKE IS GOD FANS MUST LOVE HIM SPIKE IS GREAT, oh no Spike almost raped me, now Willow is evil, hey I'm better."

GREAT stuff.

You can describe any arc like that.

"Well a guy in a rubber suit is here. He's big and bad. They unleash Angelus. He SHOCKINGLY gets out of his cage. Here comes Faith! Yay it's all good. No, wait, Cordy is evil and can't act and is giving birth to a space cowboy. Then let's take over W&H".

Please don't relate Angel Season 4 and Buffy Season 6. Their only similarities are two horrible female leads (Willow and Cordy).

And that they were both dark.

Buffy S6 is very watchable. It's dark, but still really funny.

Other than "Tabula Rasa" and the Geek Trio, what was funny?

Angel S4 eps bleed into each other so much. Buffy has more viariaty, with Angel it's all one big story, which gets more boring in repeat viewings.

That is why I LOVE season 4, the big story arc.

Which doesn't get boring at all, atleast to me.

Buffy S6 is so much better than any Angel season. OMWF alone tops anything on Angel.

Good God, "OMWF" is overrated.

Plus the HUGE plothole in the story, Xander knowing it all along but being all stupid about it makes zero sense. And don't give me that "who cares about the story, the plot is the music" because the music is the gimmick, not the story.

Tabula Rasa is a lot better than Spin The Bottle.

Eh, "TR" memory loss isn't as long as "STB." But the ending of "TR" is sooo damn sad, I love it.

Warren is a lot better than Jasmine.

How?

Warren is just a guy who needed a GUN to kill someone. Jasmine was basically a God! How can a regular guy be better than a God?

Hells Bells is amazing.

Yes, I'll give you that one.

Flooded is funny, Life Serial is funny, Hells Bells is funny...there's tons of funny in S6. Even the depressing eps have Emma, who is ALWAYS funny...except when being left at the alter and being cut in half.

Even DAWN is pretty funny in S6.

The OMWF Xander twist is stupid. That is true. Ever noticed the songs make it so you can't lie...yet he denies it's him in song? He blames it on witches(some EVIL witches!) and all that. So stupid. Still, the ep is classic. Plenty of stuff in S4 makes little sense too.

Warren's funny. He ends up doing more damage than Jasmine anyway. He kills Tara and screws up Will forever. Gun or not.

Doublemeat Palace is really funny too.

You just lost all your TOAOS5T Points. You can not pass Go. You do not collect $200. You broke the cardinal rule of this thread, and if I had it my way, you'd be banned right now for saying such a thing.

It IS funny. I love Manny The Manager(no joke, that's just his name). The "meat process" thing. The cow hat. The zombie-like co-workers. It's such a funny parody of what it's like to work in that field. Jane is the best writer ever.

Also, it's the first appearance of Halfrek. The scene where she comes to curse Xander and then realizes it's Anyanka is hilarious. I like how she's like "half the time I never know if I'm cursing the right guy" all casually.

There's also

"Uh Oh, Willow is an ADDICT. To MAGICT. She is IRRESPONSIBLE. This character arc is the worst one ever."

Try, "this character is the worst ever." ;)

Randy Giles and the Anya/Giles shippage is too good.

I hate that word, almost as much as I hate the word 'slash'...

What is it with you over-obsessed fan girls? Are you Yuna's sister or something?

"Shippage" is funny. So are the cute little mix of names, like Xanya and Spuffy. "Spuffy" is the both the worst and best word ever.

No, I am not Yuna's sister. Although she likes FF, so I wouldn't mind it. I bet I could get her into Buffy.

Willow's so cool. I don't understand how anyone could possibly hate her. Aly is just so..likable. Will was my favorite female character for a while.

She just annoys the crap out of me. Like when she shows up in Season 4 of Angel, I exclaimed, "WHHHYYYY?!" :P

..and when you start using terms like 'shippage' and 'spuffy' you sound like the lunatics from the WB's Buffy & Angel message boards..

I never understood why the soul spell was such a huge deal that only Willow could do. It was like one of her first spells back when she struggled to float a pencil. Why can't Wes do it?

The magic levels of the characters on both shows is always changing. Giles and Anya are the worst in that regard. They both will range from being totally useless to high level magic users at a moments notice.

Guest Brian

The spell to restore his soul was lost, old gypsy magic that died out with Jenny's family. That's why they needed Willow, she was the only one with the knowledge to do it.

Don't look for logic in Buffy.

SITS...Buffy has years of training and Slayer power. Yet it takes her forever to kill the first Ubervamp. The SITS have weeks of training and Slayer strength for all of a second and they're dusting them left and right.
