02-03-04 Charisma Carpenter in Playboy? Yes, you heard it here first. Word on the street is Charisma may do a cover shot and inside pictorial in an issue tentatively scheduled for a late spring or early summer release. More to come as this story develops...

 Oh my gawd, Yes, yes, Yes~! This is one issue I'm definately buying :D

And onto the 00th episode which I just watched, pure gold....absolutely amazing stuff. Cordy calling Eve Lilah Jr. owned....and of course the Doyle video :(

Can't wait for next week...simply because I'll actually be able to see it on TV instead of having to DL it, heh

Lil Naitch already reported that Black, but it is always nice to hear it again.

I think I'm going to watch "Hero" later tonight; just to see something to remember Glenn Quinn by and the fact I've only seen the episode once and it is sooooo good.

I was looking at IMDB and Quinn died on December 3, 2002. I am surprised no one mentioned it was a year; but I didn't even know that myself.

I know, that's why it had the "QUOTE (Lil Naitch @ Feb 5 2004, 12:57 PM)" above it ;) But yes, it is nice to hear again...I know I enjoy thinking about it, heh

I watched "Hero" last night, and even though Doyle's sacrifice was very heartbreaking, the episode wasn't as good as I remember.

Maybe it is because the other seasons are A LOT stronger, so I just didn't get into this one as much.

And here is the preview for next week's episode and the following weeks. Highlight the quotes to read, they are sort of kind of spoilers, but not really.

"Why We Fight" Feb 11th

VAMPIRES ABOARD A GERMAN U-BOAT - Lawson (left, guest star Eyal Podell, "Behind Enemy Lines"), a mysterious man from Angel’s (David Boreanaz) past, arrives at Wolfram & Hart and takes the gang hostage. Through flashbacks to World War II, it is revealed that Angel worked with the U.S. Navy to recover a captured German submarine with American sailors on board. The ship also has a secret cargo, a dangerous trio of vampires, including Spike (James Marsters), who were kidnapped by the Germans and forced to help the Nazis. When the sub comes under attack, Angel saves Lawson’s life by turning him into a vampire. Now, sixty years later, Lawson has arrived at Wolfram & Hart seeking revenge

"Smile Time" Feb 18th

THE GREAT PUPPET CAPER -- When a popular children’s show begins to steal the life forces of children by hypnotizing them, Angel (David Boreanaz) goes directly to the studio to uncover the evil doings. Upon entering the building, Angel triggers a spell that transforms him into a puppet. In a race against time, puppet-Angel and company must find a way to reverse the spell, save the lives of hundreds of children and return Angel to his normal vampire state. Meanwhile, Nina (guest star Jenny Mollen), the werewolf Angel befriended, returns to declare her romantic intentions, but puppet-Angel is too embarrassed to reciprocate.

"A Hole in the World" Feb 25th (WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY JOSS WHEDON!!)

When Fred (Amy Acker) opens up an ancient sarcophagus that was anonymously sent to her, she is infected by a mysterious parasitic demon called Illyria. Angel (David Boreanaz) and Spike (James Marsters) learn that Illyria is an ancient demon who existed before recorded time, and they must race to return her to an ancient demon burial ground before she kills Fred and thousands of other innocent victims.

"Shells" March 2nd (Guest staring a old Sunnydale friend)

THE END OF FRED -- Angel (David Boreanaz) and Spike (James Marsters) return from England defeated, knowing that the ancient demon Illyria has completely taken over Fred’s (Amy Acker) body and soul. Upon learning that Knox (guest star Jonathan Woodward) and Gunn (J. August Richards) have each contributed to her demise, Wesley (Alexis Denisof) is bent on revenge and Angel tries everything to restore Fred, including calling on an old friend from Sunnydale(Willow). Meanwhile, Illyria tries to locate an ancient temple where she believes she will find an army ready to help her destroy mankind

All I have to say is that shit's lit in Team Angel!!!!

As stated, I haven't seen much this season: has Spike been given any reason as to why he didn't go find Buffy and instead, hung around with Angel and his group?

That's basically it.

From the end of Harm's Way--

HARMONY

But...what happened to Europe? Aren't you supposed to be slayer-chasing or something?

SPIKE

I was on my way. Had a boat ticket and all. Then I put a little thinking into it. A man can't go out in a bloody blaze of glory, savin' the world, and then show up 3 months later, tumbling off a cruise ship in the south of France. I mean, I'd love to, don't get me wrong, but, uh, it's hard to top an exit like that.

HARMONY

(rolls her eyes)

Come on. Girls don't care about stuff like that. Just one look at you, and she'll forget herself, and she'll get all tingly, and it won't matter how horribly you treated her in the past and how you took her for granted, and...

SPIKE

I never took her for gr— Oh. I expect Buffy would be happy enough to see me. It's just, I gave up my life for her, the world, and if I show up now, flesh and bone, my grand finale won't hold much weight. All of it... won't matter.

Why he stays around Angel?

To Annoy him, mainly.

And to show him up.

This is what Marsters said in a interview about the Spike/Angel situation and it sums it up perfectly.

What’s going to happen to Spike in this season of the show?

Marsters: Oh, man, I gave up trying to second-guess these writers so long ago. They go exactly the opposite direction. We just did a big fight between Angel and Spike, right? I would have bet ... my guitar on the fact that Angel was going to win that fight. I was like, "There’s no other way you can do it." Of course. Why would you do it the other way? And what they’ve done is open up Angel for a whole new arc of self-doubt and a whole new reason to try to redeem yourself beyond the reward. Genius. So I have no idea.

What I do know is that there seems to be a lot more dramatic potential between Angel and Spike than I once realized. When Joss wanted to bring me over to the show, I thought, "Well, it will be cool. I’ll make Angel’s life hard like I made Buffy’s life hard. That would be fun." But what I’m discovering, this is also interesting, things like Spike never bought that Angel was reformed. When he first, he was like, "Bulls--t. You’re still going to go kill people. I don’t buy that for a second." And ... it doesn’t register with Angel now that Spike has gotten his soul and is reformed. He does not see himself in Spike at all. And I think that’s because Angel has seen Spike do such horrendous evil that he just cannot believe that you can come back from that, and Spike doesn’t believe that Angel could come back from what he did. Even though they’re hoping to come back from doing what they’ve done. It’s a really wonderful doppelganger for [everything].

There's some interesting casting news floating around that put a big cheesy grin on my face.

Yep, (spoiler)Julie Benz has been in every season of the show so far(/spoiler), and it looks like season 5 is no exception (unless this turns out to be false, which it could be). I was pretty excited when I read that. It's always good times when they're around.

"Smile Time" sounds hilarious..

Is that sarcasm...?

Nah. I just meant...

Angel as a puppet could make for some good comedic moments.

Looks like Lindsay will be back later on, in a very interesting way.

Okay, there was an interview with the cast on buffy.nu, and after reading Joss' part, I have to say HO-LEE SHIT. I am SO psyched for the rest of this season.

Amy Acker says you know how the season ends. Okay, Miss I-Won’t-Ask-About-Spoilers! [Laughs.] I was upstairs working on the episode that I’m going to direct, and it occurred to me that it was going to change things for the group.I felt we needed to pay service to the gravity of what we are dealing with. They are in a nest of vipers and working for terrible people. I had already pitched the very end, but we were trying to figure out how we get to the end without the same old, "Oh, here comes an apocalypse, we better stop it!" We’ve been there, done that. It’s like a crutch. I’m like an addict. I can’t go a season on a show without an apocalypse. There probably would have been one on Firefly. So, this is different. I was upstairs in my study free-associating late one night, and I realized, "Omigod, this isn’t just an apocalypse. This is how I need to answer the question about Wolfram & Hart." And you’ll never get the answer out of me.

Aww sweet, Joss at his best. I hope to work with him one day.

And I hate you Naitch, I have to wait until tomorrow to get my Angel.

I was thinking about something today; maybe we could have someone make a banner for us that says something like "Team Angel, TSM style" or something like that.

Anyone think that is a good idea? Or something better to say?

yeah, Naitch, where'd you order Season 3 from? Like I said, I ordered it from Amazon back in January and it said it wouldn't ship until the 12th and wouldn't get here till the 16th or something, so I cancelled it and I'm going to get it tomorrow at Circuit City (which has it for the same price).

Found a link in an interview on Buffy.nu, took me to Walmart's web site. Oddly enough, it said it would get here within one to two days after it was released.

Question- Just finished watching disk one, and at the end of the fourth ep, Cordy comes and tells Anel that Willows on the phone, and that Buffy is alive. On Buffy, at the end of the second episode, Angel calls Buffy. Why the time discrepency?

I guess BtVS & AtS just had different time frames at that point. Don't forget they were on different networks by then, and Angel debuted a week earlier (9/24) than BtVS did (10/2). I assume matching up the episodes between the two shows wasn't such a big priority.
