Entrance music

I know one of those bands...

Iron Maiden.

On the music issue.  Some themes suck, some don't.  However, I do think that they should limit how many themes have "real bands" playing them.

the only good original in-house music in the wwf are rocky's, jericho's and benoit's, it just fits their characters so well.

well it did until rocky turned suck-up, jericho turned into a wimp and benoit GOT crippled.

angle's is good but it was originally the patriot's, booker t's is brilliant but it's over 5 years old an a wcw original.

did eddie retain the latino heat on monday?

I doubt anyone's really noticed (because it's hardly ever heard), but Lance Storm's music sucks ass.

Yeah it sounds like a washing machine.

Am I the ONLY one who likes billy and chucky's music?

They're supposed to be faggots, of course the music is supposed to sound like that.

If angle came out to "thank god im a country boy," would it make any sense?

Lance Storm and, uh, I dunno, Val or some other Canadian wrestler:) should revive the Rougeau Bros. gimmick for the 21st Century.

That way I get to hear ALL AMERICAN BOYS~! again.

If commercial music is where the WWF is headed, then I'll only be happy when I hear an entrance theme by IN FLAMES.  Some of you guys must know who they are!

IN FLAMES rocks the party that rocks the body.

I know who In Flames are. How would you consider swedish death metal that nobody else has ever heard of to be mainstream though?

I am not a huge fan of theirs at all. Not really impressed with their delivery. Want some killer progressive and technical death metal from that country? Check out Soilwork.

I only listen to what I hear, I'm not really much of a music insider.  Someone played some In Flames stuff for me, and then I saw them do a show in Brooklyn, and I really dig them now.  That's all.

And I didn't say "mainstream".  I only meant commercial music as opposed to in-house production.  The last thing I want to hear on WWF TV is more mainstream music.  Ugh.  The Creed videos (while nice montages) were all the mainstream garbage I can handle for a while.

Oh and now that I think of it, tell me if you're heard of Beyond the Embrace and perhaps what you think of them.  I'm producing an indy wrestling TV show and I needed entrance music, so I got in touch with them.

Fair enough. I apologize if I gave you the impression that I was cracking on your taste. I just do not happen to be a fan of In Flames. Nothing against them personally.

Beyond the Embrace...

*racks his brain*

I do not think that I have heard of them. What kind of music do they play?

Beyond the Embrace... hmm, well I probably won't be able to make an accurate categorization of their music, but I'd say it's pretty much straight metal with a good deal of guitar harmony and a little hardcore vocals thrown in.  They just got signed by Metal Blade, actually.   I don't even know why I'm asking you about them, but one of my friends is the bass player, so I guess I'm just curious what someone who is admittedly a metal enthusiast thinks about them.  They have some songs on MP3.com, so you could check em out there.

Oh and to keep this wrestling related, um... Triple H is a communist.  Yeah.  That oughta do.

Will do. I will throw you some feedback when I get the opprotunity.

Along the same line, I hear that Essa Rios is due for a huge push. First victim? Kurt Angle.

If HHH was a communist, he'd want everyone to get an equal push!

If anyone's a communist, it's The Rock with his People's eyebrow, People's elbow, and People's Republic of China!

"did eddie retain the latino heat on monday?"

And did Hogan have Voodoo or Real American?

I think the decline of the quality of WWF's music started with Taker's use of Kid Rock's song, "American Badass."  Like someone stated earlier, the WWF is intent on selling their CD's and making their entrance music sound more commerical.  It's all about making mo' money for Vince.

I absolutely hate HHH's Disturbed version of "I am the Game."  In fact, I hate most of these newer themes.

Personally, I'm getting pretty sick of all these bands being used(probably because I'm a rap/hip-hop/r&b fan). Just out of curiousity, I downloaded both Jericho and Benoit's songs from Forceable Grabage and quite frankly, I really hated Jericho's while Benoit's was pretty okay(I still like Shooter better). I think what it is, the music isn't fitting these guys at all. I like the original Break the Walls Down because it was loud and brash just like Jericho's rock star image and when they remixed it, I think that the quality took a real nosedive. Hell, I hate Rock's remixed theme too because it's just too goofy sounding while Know Your Role, IMO, made Rock out to look like a mega superstar because you just HAD to pay attention when it hit.

I don't know... maybe it's just my bias against metal/rock&roll/whatever.

On a sidenote, Lance Storm should have used his WCW music because it doesn't sound like a damned washing machine and was pretty kickass to boot.

Alwayspissed, you summed the whole situation up perfectly.  When Jim Johnston wrote the entrance themes, it seemed as if he would create a song around the character.  Now, they just take any old song and give it to a wrestler, whether it fits or not.

My girlfriends loves Billy & Chuck's entrance music too.  She thinks it sounds like some kind of boy band.

The problem with WWF music at the moment is nu-metal...far too many generic shitty riffs. It wouldn't hurt to at least explore some other genres.

You guys do know that people like Booker T, the nWo, Spike Dudley, Tajiri, Kidman, etc. are using something called production music/stock music, right? It's not WWF or WCW-produced.

Yeah, That theme is one of my fave themes right now.

Well, WWF Themes does suck right now.I hate All they're PPV themes. If they use a System Of A Down song as one of thier PPV themes, then i'll mark out.

I've heard the Booker T's theme on a Kids in the Hall skit. Hurricane Helm's old theme is currently being played on ads for the Ice Age movie. I guess these are all purpose themes. I marked out pretty bad for the Harlem Heat theme on Kids in the Hall though

well, those are all right except for the nWo theme, which is actually comprised of pieces of the Jimi Hendrix songs "Highway Chile" and "The Stars That Play with Laughing Sam's Dice".
