I haven't heard of ONE of those bands.

Stop watching TRL.

I don't watch TRL, but I also don't Read "KillDieFuckYourMomGoToHellDeathMetal" Magazine. I'd say I'm somewhere in the middle of the spectrum.

Well, Angle's jobbing to Evan Seinfeld on the cover of the latest "OhMyGodReadThisTitleIt'sEvilAndBrutalAndGrimMetalDudePersonMan" Monthly...

Why the FUCK hasn't any wrestler used a Stuck Mojo theme? I'm looking at YOU, Jericho, and YOU, DDP!! You're both fans of the band...Jericho is FRIENDS with the band...Jericho's band, Fozzy, is 3/5 former Stuck Mojo members...WHY NO MOJO THEME SONGS?!

Someone call Sony and license "Man in The Box" for Dreamer. God, AiC rocked...

I thought Storm's WCW music was actually pretty decent too. Whoever said it was right, his current theme does sound like washng machine. Someone here should make a remix version of it... throw some silver dollars in their Kenmore, record it and add a drum beat.

Personally, I find that HHH coming out to Motorhead is the only part of his whole act I sit through.   Just cuz Motorhead is so cool they can carry even Triple H for a while.

But once the bell rings I flip away, or go to the computer, or something.

The problem with the current WWF theme music is that it is all too similar.  There's no distinction, because they're using so similar bands that all have a similar sound.  Or, if you'll permit me to go into Indie Snob mode, "They're just using a bunch of soundalike flavor of the month corporate rock bands."  I mean, Saliva and Drowning Pool.  I think they're actually the same band.  I mean, do you ever see them in the same place at the same time?  It's like Demolition Smash and The Repo Man.  Gimmick change!  But the same people under a new mask.

A theme song should tie in with the character.  It should fit his/her mood, remind you of him.  And be distinct, so that you know its him.  A great example of this is William Regal's tune.  But that isn't the priority now.  The priority is selling crap to the lemmings, and that means having Mallcore Bands like Disturbed, Saliva, Drowning Pool, et al come out and pedal their crap in the WWF name.

Come to think of it, you gotta wonder how the hell the WWF managed to get a real band (Motorhead).  Triple H probably really likes them, or something, and made a personal request through Stephie to Vince.

But you know, I wish that if Vince were going to do this, he'd at least have some damn taste.  If you must bring in bands, at least get some good ones?  Is that too much to ask?  Hell, even Bischoff at least bought an old school Metallica song for Sting.  And the Demon sucked, but Kiss' "God of Thunder" made a darn good intro theme.

Another thought: Should bad guys be debarred from getting good music?  I mean, a heel should be booed, so shouldn't he have music by a hated band?  I mean, shouldn't all the heels come out to like Britney Spears or N'Sync just to get the crowd riled up and spewing the hatred?  Just a thought...

WWF should have Devo do a theme. They would be better then using old washed up Motorhead.

Hell only good thing Lemmy has done in at LEAST ten years is being the narrator for Tromeo and Juliet.

I have a magazin (the name escapes me at the moment) talking about his new theme. It was written BY that guy who does all the other themes but, since he loves motorhead, he requested that they do it when they came back from Russia (where the bassist/singer [forgot name, damn me to hell] almost died, actually).

Actually, HHH allegedly appears on the next Motorhead album, Hammered, which comes out on Tuesday.  So if you're a Motorhead fan and you just can't get enough of HHH's intensity, you're in luck.

As for the topic of the thread, I do agree that the music is getting too homogenous.  As overworked as Johnson is, I tend to wonder why the Fed doesn't get another composer, preferably one that specializes in a different compositional area than metal.  As big a part of wrestling as entrance music has become, it's not a good sign when you can't tell who's coming out based on the first few seconds of their music.  WCW suffered from this, as well.

Has anyone else noticed that the new commercials for Ice Age have been using the Hurricane's old production theme?

Later on ...

Nezbyte, the fact that you don't know who Lemmy is...AFTER WE'VE SAID HIS NAME SEVERAL TIMES IN SEVERAL POSTS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN...makes me wish bad things upon you...

Really? Motörhead are washed up? Really? When was the last time Devo performed a song at WrestleMania? When was the last time Devo did anything but remember "Whip It" and wear ashtrays on their heads?

And I say again to the WWF: GET SOME OLD STUCK MOJO TUNES. Many of them make GREAT entrance themes.

Godsmack's "I Stand Alone" from the Scorpion King movie (ugh...) seems like a good theme song for a wrestler.

That's probably why I'm going to use it for my Smarks Wrestling E-Federation (at the bottom of the boards in the "Smarks Hosted Forum") wrestler.[/plug]

Funny that despite those being stock music themes (nWo, Booker T, Hurricane), I enjoy them more than the WWF-generated stuff.

You can tell that Johnston is a big mark for generic rock, since pretty much every theme since the InVasion has been that kind of stuff, and any attempt at rap or whatnot is AWFUL (see: Scotty Too Hotty's theme).

I like ALL music, yes, all music. One of my favorite old-school themes is even "Don't Go Messing With A Country Boy," because I like bluegrass. I LOVED "Natural Born Killers" for New Jack because I like rap.

Ultimately for me, the music needs to fit the character. Currently, Kurt Angle's music is the best-fitting music. So is Hurricane's, but Angle's is a shade higher, just like he's a shade higher above everyone in the WWF.

Dammit I liked the guitar version of Angle's theme.  He's a badass not a dork anymore dammit!

Anyone Agree? Anyone?

"I don't watch TRL, but I also don't Read "KillDieFuckYourMomGoToHellDeathMetal" Magazine."

Where do I get a subscription to that?

"Why the FUCK hasn't any wrestler used a Stuck Mojo theme?"

*opinionated response in the works*

Because Stuck Mojo is poo.

Corey was the only decent musician in the band. He went on to form another band with the guitarist from Life of Agony. I need to check them out.

"Come to think of it, you gotta wonder how the hell the WWF managed to get a real band (Motorhead).  Triple H probably really likes them, or something, and made a personal request through Stephie to Vince."

He is a fan of theirs. So is Austin. One of the band mebers is also a fan of Triple H's.

"Ultimately for me, the music needs to fit the character. Currently, Kurt Angle's music is the best-fitting music. So is Hurricane's, but Angle's is a shade higher, just like he's a shade higher above everyone in the WWF."

I think Triple H's music fits him perfectly. It is even custom made for him.

Hang em High would be a good song to use by Stuck Mojo...

I really think someone should use "For Whom the Bell Tolls"...

Someone should use Dead Kennedys as a theme song, they are chock full of em...

But I personally still prefer old school themes, without the generic cookie cutter crap that they use now...

The funny thing, LoganHex, is that Corey Lowery is a shit bassist in a shit band (Stereomud), and Rich Ward kicked everybody's ass so incredibly bad in Stuck Mojo that a certain OTHER Atlanta-based band needed to steal his riffs for their first album (which is their only good album, mind you).

Stereomud = cookie-cutter aggro band.

Stuck Mojo = revolutionary beginners of rap/metal with a funk edge.

See the difference? Calling Rich Ward subpar compared to the shittiness of Corey Lowery's bass skills is laughable at best, especially since it appears you haven't heard a single song off of Declaration Of A Headhunter, which are all very power metal-ish, and "The Ward Is My Shepherd" is a true testament to the guitar genius that is "The Duke Of Metal."

In closing: don't be fucking with Mojo when I'm on watch.

in the entrance music department, backyard wrestling definitely has the wwf beat (since they don't have to pay for the rights and all).

some friends & i did the "jump around on a trampoline & call it wrestling" thing last summer, & one of the guys had his entrance theme as "you got the touch", the original one from transformers.  funniest fucking thing ever.

"The funny thing, LoganHex, is that Corey Lowery is a shit bassist in a shit band (Stereomud)."

Is that the band they formed? Please tell me that you are joking. I would figure that Corey Lowrey and Joey Z. would be able to come up with something better then that. Eep!

I did not think that Corey was an awful bassist at all. I am not into rapmetal at all (which is what provoked my original commentary about Stuck Mojo to begin with) but Corey kept me captivated when I say them play live as they were opening up for Testament on their Demonic tour. I give Stuck Mojo mad props for their stage performance (they were really into it and when the vocalist began grinding away on the copper pighead I was flipping out) though. I even got to jump up and rip a chord on his bass when he held it out over the crowd. There was this inbred skinhead standing next to me complaining about the fact that the vocalist was black the entire time though. Kind of lame. Anyway...that was a pointless story.

"And Rich Ward kicked everybody's ass so incredibly bad in Stuck Mojo that a certain OTHER Atlanta-based band needed to steal his riffs for their first album (which is their only good album, mind you)."

Who is this?

"Stereomud = cookie-cutter aggro band.

Stuck Mojo = revolutionary beginners of rap/metal with a funk edge."

I agree. I just happen to not be into rapmetal at all =)

"See the difference? Calling Rich Ward subpar compared to the shittiness of Corey Lowery's bass skills is laughable at best."

It is all a matter of opinion there friend. Considering the fact that I have been a bassist for the past eleven years I think mine is valid. Not more so then yours. Just valid.

"Especially since it appears you haven't heard a single song off of Declaration Of A Headhunter, which are all very power metal-ish, and "The Ward Is My Shepherd" is a true testament to the guitar genius that is "The Duke Of Metal."

I have never sat down and listened to an entire album of theirs. After seeing them live I never really was inspired too. I have two tracks of theirs on a compilation album. Not Promised Tommorow (which I think is a decent tune) and Change My Ways (which I am not fond of at all), both of which were culled from their Snappn' Necks album. How does that compare to Declaration of A Headhunter?

"In closing: don't be fucking with Mojo when I'm on watch."

I've decided to toss out some ideas for themes...here goes

They need to give someone Shane Douglas' ECW theme which if i'm not mistaken was "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple. I could be mistaken but i'm certian that's his. Hell even if It's not it would still make for a great theme. The lyric "do you remember...remember my name" fits wrestling well and would be easy to match a wrestler to the song.

I think "My Way" by Frank Sinatra would work as a theme...and would be something different. However i can't see anyone that owns a fed taking a chance and playing Frank Sinatra to the fans. But hell even a cover of it to make it more "aggresive" sounding wouldn't be a bad theme.

They should give "Size ain't shit" by Bushwick Bill to someone like Taz or Lil Spike. They'd have to clean the song up, but you can't tell me that wouldn't be some funny shit.

I'd love it if they used "You hate me and i hate you" by GG Allin as a theme. Sure GG Allin was a fucking lunatic and he seemed to have the musical talent of a nail on a chalkboard, but still that song would be great for a heel. Wouldn't be bad for Raven since he fits in with the whole "punk rock" type of look the best of anyone on the roster.

I still stand by my previous statements that NWO needs the Ministry song "New World Order" as their theme. Well i kinda take that back now. If NWO comes in as dominating force and becomes a band of ruthless face destroyers they should get this song. The clumsy unorganized bunch that can barely beat Kane even with 3 on 1 which is now representing NWO does not deserve this song.

RVD should have "Sweet Leaf" by Black Sabbath as a theme. And if you don't understand why...well just don't bother asking.

Someone i know on the internet wrestles in some Indy fed(i cant remember where and besides he's a nobody so doesn't matter). Well anyways he said some had "Five Finger Crawl" by Danzig and he said it makes for a great theme. I listened to the song and i can see it being a great theme.

They need a few Country music themes. Not this pussy shit that is nothing but pop music with a country twaaang i mean the only good country music the kind that sings about drinking, fighting, fucking or prison time. Hank Williams Jr. "Family Tradition", Johnny Cash "San Quentin" and Waylon Jennings "Lonesome, On'ry And Mean" are just 3 that could work as a theme. Well ok maybe i'm just insane but that would give us some differences in theme styles.

"Finding It Hard To Be A Gentleman" by The White Stripes would possibly be good for Regal playing up on the "British gentlemen" thing Regal uses in his "gimmick".

"Eye for an Eye" by Soulfly would be good for an aggresive or pissed off "face"...no not "IIINTEEENSE"

"Skinhead" by Skrewdriver could've been a good theme...if it wasn't for the whole "it's a song about Skinheads" thing. Hey damnit don't crucify me i heard it on the movie Romper Stomper and it's a fucking catchy song...it's just unfortunaly about neo nazi's.

"Heavy Metal" by Sammy Hagar from the soundtrack of the original HeavyMetal would be a damn good theme for Chris Jericho playing up on his 80's metal look.

Born in the USA for Angle...wait no that sucks. Born in East LA for Eddy or Rey...eh nevermind

Ok that's all i care to bring up so i'll finish here...enjoy...and yes i know i have some fucked up music taste that varies widely.

I just hope the WWF falls off the Nu-Metal Bandwagon really soon. I love Nu-Metal, but the WWF uses all the shitty copycat bands. If they're going to go Metal, why not use the Innovators like the Deftones, Faith No More Etc.

NO MORE Drowning Pool.

Mainly because The Deftones suck really really bad, and Mike Patton hates being called metal at all since he knows Faith No More kind of, ya know, wasn't...

Patton actually bitches out anybody that's in a nu-metal band and lists Faith No More as an influence...it's really funny...

And Logan, the band I refer to that stole Mojo riffs for their only decent album is from Atlanta...has a Lowery in it (drummer)...and currently does Jericho's theme song (which doesn't make ANY sense, since Jericho himself has stated he doesn't like the band at all, and the comment about them ripping off Mojo riffs came from Jericho)...Sevendust.

If all you've heard was Snappin' Necks, I feel sorry for you...that's probably their worst album...Mojo was one of the few bands that improved with each release.
