Guest Report post Posted April 10, 2002 Someone should use Dead Kennedys as a theme song, they are chock full of em... Totally agreed. Best punk band EVER. One of the best bands ever. And my efed characters will use many a DK theme in the future... However, there's no way the WWF could ever get the rights to use them. Jello Biafra refused to let the rest of the band sell out "Holiday In Cambodia" to be used for a Levi's commercial (and the rest of the band has promptly brought suit against him and are trying to cut him out of the rights so that they CAN sell it out to whatever crap someone wants to pedal by using it). If Jello won't sell to Levi's, I doubt very much that he'd sell to VinMac. And it's stuff like this that is why I still respect the hell out of Mr. Biafra; no price on his head. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 10, 2002 What is metal then? Metal itself is divided into many subgenres. Black, death, grind, doom, gothic, thrash, traditional, progressive, etcetera. I could go on forever. Drowning Pool does not belong in any of these genres. I don't give a fuck. They don't fit into one of those categories. Whoopty damn doo. Why not just like the music or dislike it? Does it have to have any kind of label put on it? For everyone who thought X-Pac's music sucked, you guys missed the point. X-Pac wasn't supposed to come out to something that everybody liked, he was supposed to come out to a crappy song and stick his hands in the air and saunter down the ramp like a jerk. That was his gimmick and he did it well. As far as good music, I can't remember a lot of good music being around since maybe '98-'99. You had the NAO, Godfather, the Rock, Austin, DX, HBK, the Undertaker, the Brood all of that shit. WWF the music Volume 3 was probably the best WWF musical CD ever released. Volume 4 had a handful too such as "My Time," "Sexual Chocolate" and "No Chance." I can't think of many good songs that were produced from 2000-present. Does it have to have any kind of label put on it? Do we REALLY need to go into the argument about how labelling HELPS music? Here...Band A has its own sound. Band B sounds nothing like it. Band C comes along, has its own sound. Now, Bands D, E, and F sound similar to A, B, C (in that order). Bands A and D are one genre, B and E are another, and C and F are yet another. By the reasoning of "does it have to have a label put on it?", then humans are no different from apes. It's those subtle differences...

It's those subtle differences... The problem is, you named about 12 different types of metal and said that since they didn't fall into any of those categories that they weren't metal. I'm not up on my metal history so bear with me as I try to make my point. When the first death metal band came out, did anyone say that they weren't metal because there was no death metal category for them to fall under? I doubt it. So why are you saying that Drowning Pool isn't metal because they don't fall into one of those categories. God forbid somebody come along and be innovative. Guest Report post Posted April 11, 2002 I like HHH's theme, RVD's old music was better, but you couldn't hear it. Kane's new music rules, but I really think that the Rock should switch his to "Stand Alone" by Godsmack. It is the featured song on the Scorpion King soundtrack and would go great with a Rock heel turn, even though we probably won't be seeing that for a good long while. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 11, 2002 I'm waiting for the WWF to say fuck it and give Triple H Metallica's "Sad but True."
Guest swan Report post Posted April 11, 2002 It also happens to be the only decent tune Prong ever wrote. Then I guess you missed everything else they put out? They are going on tour, check 'em out and you'll change your mind fast.
Guest swan Report post Posted April 12, 2002 WWF should have Devo do a theme. They would be better then using old washed up Motorhead. Hell only good thing Lemmy has done in at LEAST ten years is being the narrator for Tromeo and Juliet. I guess that would be why the last several Motorhead albums are some of their most highly regarded work. Not just for them but for straight up heavy metal/hard rock in general. hell they even have some Grammy nominations. I would assume you aren't a fan and the only song you have heard is "The Game"?
