LaParkaMarka Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Look at this crap. The Broncos at #1? The Broncos??!?!! Why is CBS paying this monkey? Ugh. Denver is ok, but they haven't been tested at all. A dominant performance against a struggling team like the Raiders doesn't make you the best team in the league. He has Indy at 2, KC at 3, and Tampa at 6 (behind Minnesota and Carolina).
CanadianChris Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 This guy has no business writing about the NFL. I'm as big a Broncos fan as there is, and even I wouldn't put them #1. It's either Kansas City or Indianapolis at this point.
razazteca Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 It's because CBS is the official network of the AFC, duh. But seriously I guess it has something to do with the Broncos having a better Defense and destroyed one divisional rival on monday night.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Denver's still an unproven team. They greately benefitted from the Raiders self destructing every time they got something going. For the second time this season the Broncos gave the other team every chance to get back into the game.
Rob E Dangerously Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Dear ESPN.com, We agree with the power rankings. Sincerely, the NCAA Coaches
MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 (edited) Its obvious that for at least 1 more week the Chiefs should be number 1. The Panthers SHOULD be above the Bucs, and I'd have them above the Vikings except the Panthers have only played 2 games vs the Vikes 3. The Colts are too high right now but they could be up in top 5 as the season wears on. The Seahawks should be up in the top 5 somehow too.. Edited September 24, 2003 by MarvinisaLunatic

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Broncos shouldn't even be above the Bills....well either should Carolina, Indy, Pittsburgh, or the Vikings. But thats fine, everyone should downplay the Bills, they'll get their shit together and take out the Chiefs in the AFC Championships.
razazteca Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 The AFC West and East will nullify each other so the AFC champ will come out of the South. Its all about the Titans!
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 The AFC West and East will nullify each other so the AFC champ will come out of the South. Its all about the Titans! Right. McNair won't get injured 6 more times this year and George will actually gain more than 1.7 yards per carry.
LaParkaMarka Posted September 24, 2003 Author Report Posted September 24, 2003 McNair was injured almost every week last season, and they still did well. It's less about him being injured and more about their defense and running game.

It's less about him being injured and more about their defense and running game. But McNair stayed in the game last year, if he doesn't play at all, this team is toast. And running game? Are you mad? Eddie George is burned out...he simply doesn't have anything left in the tank...or his brain.
Red Baron Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 he probably thinks that the Bengals is a 500 team...

I think George is pretty much done too, but if he has more showings like last Sunday, it'll help. Their defense needs to play better too. I agree with you about Mcnair though. He usually plays injured, but if he's out, the Titans are pretty much done. The guy is the heart and soul of the team.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 If McNair stayed healthy for the whole year, I'd call them Super Bowl material. When he is on, he is the best QB in the league...no question. Injuries have just nagged him for too long.
