Fun fact of the day: I hate doing these after my team loses.

Week 3 is over...and it sucks. Oh sorry...I got lost for a minute there. Most of the teams that were supposed to win, did win...and the Packers...well they just digust me.

Lessons learned:

1. The Bills Offense can't work without a running game, and having to overcome retarded playcalling doesn't help. Not only is Henry injured now...but he also wasn't any good. When you are in the 4th quarter of a game, and the defense has not only given you TWO field starts on you opponents side of the field...but ALSO scored you 7 points and held the other team to 10 despite a HUGE difference in time of possession...you have to be downright STUPID to lose. Well...they did.

2. The Vikings should walk away with the NFC North. It may only be 3 games...but all three were wins over each division team. Two of them were even on the road. If their toughest challenge is an Green Bay team that couldn't beat Arizona...

3. Week 5's Denver vs. Kansas City should be fantastic. Denver plays Detroit this week...and should win. KC plays Baltimore...and should win. That would set up a tremendous battle of the undefeated division rivals for the next week. I can't wait.

4. The Washington Redskins *Might* be for real afterall. Sure they lost in the end...but I think I'm actually starting to see something from them. I don't know if they'll be around in the end...but I do know that Coles was a tremendous pickup *cough Peerless wasn't*.

5. Weren't the Chargers supposed to be at least decent this year? There hasn't been even a sign of life out of that team yet.

Week 2 Rewind:

A look back at something said last week that was either brilliant...or really dumb:

Brilliant:

"14. Miami Dolphins (1-1) Last Week: 16

Red zone defense and Ricky Williams is the key to success. Luckily they have both."

If only Gregg Williams read my column...

Really Dumb:

"32. Arizona Cardinals (0-2) Last Week: 32

I haven't said this in years...but I think they could actually lose them all."

Damn you Packers. Damn you straight to hell.

Week 3 Awards:

Offensive Player of the Week: Ricky Williams (Miami). Thought about Reggie Wayne and Preist Holmes...but the Dolphins don't win that game without Ricky doing what he does.

Defensive Player of the Week: Warren Sapp (Tampa Bay). Hey...he caught a TD...leave me alone. I mark for fat men dancing. Also...the Falcons couldn't even sniff a run.

Rookie of the Week: Asante Samuel (New England) Big play in a close game.

And now...for the first time with the same #1 team:

The Official bps21 NFL Power Rankings (Week 3)

My philosophy is once you get past your third game...if you still haven't won...you stay in the basement until you prove you belong elsewhere. That means if the Eagles lose this week...they'll join the other winless teams. And as for the Bears...well...they already belong there anyway...

In reverse:

32. Chicago Bears (0-2) Last Week: 31

Take over the last spot from the Cardinals. Congratulations!

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3) Last Week: 30

Leftwich looks good again in garbage time. The clock is ticking.

30. New York Jets (0-3) Last Week: 27

Another ugly game involving the Jets. I wonder what the pattern is?

29. San Diego Chargers (0-3) Last Week: 26

LT finally scored this week. Film at 11.

28. Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) Last Week: 29

Playing tougher than their record.

27. Arizona Cardinals (1-2) Last Week: 32

How did this happen? Seriously. If it wasn't for my "if you don't win after 3 games policy" I might have left them in last anyway.

26. Houston Texans (1-2) Last Week: 24

Houston...we have a...oh nevermind. They held it close for the first half...not that it counts.

25. Detroit Lions (1-2) Last Week: 25

Played tough this week. The loss didn't hurt them on my power rankings...but it did in the real division.

24. Green Bay Packers (1-2) Last Week: 17

Hello Cheeseheads, you now take over the shame of the week from the Giants.

23. New Orleans Saints (1-2) Last Week: 22

Lost to a good team. But lost nonetheless.

22. Atlanta Falcons (1-2) Last Week: 19

When is Vick coming back?

21. Cleveland Browns (1-2) Last Week: 28

Shocking win over the Niners. I bet that wouldn't happen the next 10 out of 10 times.

20. Dallas Cowboys (1-1) Last Week: 23

Everyone around them just got worse.

19. Philadelphia Eagles (0-2) Last Week: 21

See: Dallas. Will have had two weeks to prepare for game against Buffalo. If they lose...they move to the bottom.

18. Oakland Raiders (1-2) Last Week: 15

Got smoked on Monday Night by division rival. Slow sinking down rankings may increase speed if it continues.

17. San Francisco 49ers (1-2) Last Week: 12

What the hell happened? If it weren't for Green Bay...they'd have the shame of the week.

16. St. Louis Rams (1-2) Last Week: 16

Losing Faulk is a killer...almost as bad as blowing lead to division leader.

15. Baltimore Ravens (2-1) Last Week: 20

Is the formula for success running and defense? OR is it playing terrible teams? We'll find out soon enough.

14. New England Patriots (2-1) Last Week: 13

Yeah...they moved back a spot by winning. That shouldn't really happen...but A: It was the Jets. B: They are being decimated by injuries. The positive is they share in the division lead.

13. Washington Redskins (2-1) Last Week: 9

A win would have been HUGE...but I think they might have something.

12. New York Giants (2-1) Last Week: 18

Needed a win. Got one.

11. Tennessee Titans (2-1) Last Week: 11

I don't know what to make of this team yet. They could win the AFC...or not make it out of the division.

10. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) Last Week: 10

Close game with the Bengals doesn't move you up.

9. Buffalo Bills (2-1) Last Week: 2

What's a running back? And the answer is not "The person who throws passes in the redzone" (damn it.)

8. Miami Dolphins (2-1) Last Week: 14

Defense finally showed up. (damn it.)

7. Minnesota Vikings (3-0) Last Week: 7

3-0 in the division. Most impressive. Although...the division does suck real hard.

6. Carolina Panthers (2-0) Last Week: 5

They only move down because other teams had important wins...if the Panthers keep winning...they'll move back up.

5. Denver Broncos (3-0) Last Week: 6

Blew out the Raiders...something they couldn't do last year.

4. Seattle Seahawks (3-0) Last Week: 8

Overcame tough game this week. How good are they going to be?

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) Last Week: 4

Rolled over Atlanta. Still the class of the NFC.

2. Indianapolis Colts (3-0) Last Week: 3

Had a rough start...then exploded. If the defense is going to play this good all year...look out.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) Last Week: 1

Beating up the Texans is nothing to brag about...but they did what they were supposed to.

That's it for this week. Leave your disagreements about my over and under ratings in this thread.

You're so much better than Pete "Scum" Prisco. /ddp

Anyways, I actually think all of those teams belong in the top ten. I'm not sure if Denver is necessarily a better team than Tennessee, but you have to keep a 3-0 team somewhat up there. Good work, BPS.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent

Why shouldn't the Bills be in the top 10? They dismantled the Pats, destroyed the Jags, and had ONE kinda bad game against the Dolphins. The Panthers honestly fluked against the Bucs, they won't be in the post-season this year, the Bills will be on top of the AFC East...so why should anyone put the Panthers above the Bills because of a complete fluke? Its boggles me.

Out of the 3 power rankings I saw this week, I agree with yours the most. Although I think Philly needs to be with all the other bottom feeder teams.

I think Seattle should switch with Tampa Bay, thats probably it, cause losing to Carolina is pretty sad, and Seattle defeating 2 very talented teams should move them up to at least the third spot.

So what happened with the Colts in the Browns game? I haven't seen them this season, but 9-6 against a team that was torched by Jamal Lewis the next week just seems weak.

Wasn't Denver a good team when Dillon set the single game record against them?

One game where one player explodes doesn't define a team. The game before and after Jamal Lewis went nuts were good defensive performances from Cleveland. So shall we ignore those?

Jamal Lewis was in a zone and the oline looked like they were on a mission...no one may have been able to contain him that game.

Carolina is much better than New Orleans or St. Louis, and much much better than Arizona, so I don't see your point.
