Angle vs. Cena

I just swept aside the Austin/Hart comment, why the hell do most people not do the same ?

Because it was such a ludicrous comparison to make, and the person making it was so adamant that it held true. And that's funny to me.

Oh, and I agree with MH, the Austin/Bret comparisons are crazy. Angle isn't close to Bret Hart's level and Cena can't even smell (let alone touch) Austin. There are some minor similarities to their personas, but that's it.

It's not about levels to me, it's about the feud itself. Bret/Austin was about unmitigated hatred and disrespect. Angle/Cena cannot duplicate 1/100th of that. It's mostly about comedy.

I also have got to wonder why every single one of Cena's feuds this year have been hyped to hell. Cena/Eddy was supposed to elevate both. Cena/Taker was supposed to make Cena legit, and yet as of now it's like those matches never happened. Hell, when he had that mini-feud with Spanky I got yelled at for pointing out that Spanky had no credibility and it wasn't appropriate that he be fooling around with Cena after he had just come off a WWE Title match with Brock, and it would accomplish nothing. This was about a week before the Cena/Spanky squash.

I still like his raps though.

Why is everyone saying Angle was dead after that fued . He made Hulk fucking Hogan tap out in the middle of the ring clean right after. Yes he beat Mysterio at SS, but it did get Mysterio over as someone who could compete with the best. Angle and Cena does have a little to much comedy, but it is still a decent fued, and it will help Cena cause Angle never really lost to Brock. Atleast according to Tazz and Cole Brock just wanted to get out of the match with the title.

*Looks at what happened to Mysterio after SS*

Hmmmmm, a HEAT match at Unforgiven. Yowza! Oh, wait, what's that I see? Yes, that would be Rey and Edge loosing to Angle and Benoit at No Mercy. Hey, look! It's Rey getting "injured" by A-Train after the Royal Rumble.

Yes, that feud really benefited Rey Mysterio. Yes sireee. I can practically hear MC and Tazz pimping it in Rey's matches as it established him as somebody who could "compete with the best."

Rey got injured by Albert because he was already legitamately hurt and they were trying to push Albert like always. Rey and Edge beat Angle and Benoit along with Eddie and Chavo the next month. Rey won a three way that involved himself vs. Benoit vs. Angle, and Benoit and Angle went on to main event the Royal Rumble, the second or third biggest ppv of the year. So that meant Rey could legitamately compete with and win against two of the top three or four stars of Smackdown at the time. Rey didn't stop looking legitimate until they had him job to Hardy then had The Big Show Squash him. Which in effect squashed Hardy, because if Hardy struggled to barely beat Rey what would the Big Show do to him. Honestly from King of the Ring up until the Royal Rumble I think Smackdown was booked damn near perfectly. Hogan was being used to get young talent over (Angle, Edge, Brock), Big Show was remade into a legitamate and dangerous main eventer, and Brock was made to look like a monster. Other than Billy and Chuck, Jericho not having much to do except put over Cena, Rev. Dvon and Deacon Batista, the leightheavyweights, and the UnAmericans crap this was great booking as almost everyone had something to do and alot of the right people were put over.
