I am not going to vote, but I will say that the man is over. He may not be as over as Austin or The Rock, but who is or has been for any length of time? The man gets his pops. He even gets his name chanted. That puts him over despite what everyone else will claim.

Well...I...am...just...that...damn...wornout as a character.

I was at the RAW show Monday night and the crowd was pretty hot for him. Only pop louder was Austin.

I like his character, although it could stand to be a bit more vicious. He's definitely over as hell, seeing as people chant his name and go apeshit when his music hits. He'll never be completely number one with Austin and The Rock as faces, but he's still good. Damn good. That damn good.

He could also stand to lose a little bulk and have better matches; matches like he was having before his injury, but most people have better matches as heels (See: Austin, Undertaker, Rock), so it's nothing we haven't whined about before.

How did his pop compare to RVD's?  Beyond that, he didn't have much competition: Kane, Bubba Dudley, not much else to choose from.

Triple H's was louder.

Loudest PoP's.

Austin

Triple H

RVD

Flair

Hardyz (UGH)

D'Lo (Believe it or not, but he was the first Wrestler to come out so that is why)

Taker got a nice pop too,

he really is not needed as a face and is not going anywhere as a face. Assuming hes gonna be facing Hogan at Backlash and not a three way with the  Undertaker. Hogan has way more face heat right now and I think he can sustain it for a couple more months before the fans remember hes really worthless in the ring now. Booking Triple H into a face/face match with Hogan is not going to happen so its not a matter of if he should turn Heel. He will turn heel, and hopefully keep the title at Backlash though it obviousely wont be a clean pin if Triple H wins.

blah. that was worthless.

I am of the group that says "yes he is over, just not enough to justify his current title run". I am not sure he will ever be as over as Rock or Austin, but the man does get popped, regardless of what some prominent posters on this board will have you believe. He shouldn't have been pushed to the title with him not being back 100% with his timing and in ring work, but that was the wwf milking the whole "he came back from 8 months of hell" storyline. Plus, if the wwf was to only give the title to people who are monster over, then Rock and Austin would have traded the belt between each other for the last 3 years.

HHH is over, but he isn't the number one face in the company.  I say give it some time, then turn him.  If they turn him right away, it wouldn't have the same effect.

HHH's music and entrance gets big pops, but when he's...uh on...uh the mic...uh, or actually wrestling, the crowd seem disinterested, unless he's pedegree-ing Steph.

I...um...uh...know...what...you...uh...mean-uh...and uh...I...am...uh...the...Game!...

Hell getting heat off of pedigreeing Steph is like getting heat for decapitating X-Pac.

It is some sort of gratitude heat.

seriously turn him, he is not over, he cant perform as a face, he seems much more errrrr INTENSE! as a heel

I reckon he's very over now. Which is exactly why they should turn him heel.

I reckon just the shock-value of that will enable him to be the heel he can be and that's the best there ever was. He just needs a wicked story-line to do it...(and that's not going to include a dog Vince).

Laters.

I think he is over but the crowd on 4/4s smackdown was a little confused, first when he was talking trash to Hogan they booed him, but when he started talking about not giving hogan any mercy, they went ass wild.  WASSUP WIT' DAT?!

The only way I can explain this is by comparing it to a song on the radio.  Part of why radio works is repetition.  No matter how shitty a song is, if you hear it often enough most people will eventually grow to like it.

Triple H pushes seem to work like this.  At first, people are lukewarm towards him.  But then he's just crammed down people's throats.  He's everywhere.  He's been made to look god-like since returning from his injury.  Given the incredible, relentless push he's been given it'd be a really frightening thing for the WWF if he wasn't over.  But the whole thing just reeks of pre-packaging and the nature of marks as lemmings who'll do whatever the WWF tells them to do.

Triple H is over, don't get it twisted. HOWEVER, he is not 2000 over. That's the difference. He was more over then. He is over, but not enough to justify his title. Take into account that this guy broke off the marriage with Stephanie and got rid of her from the wwf. He won the undisputed title from a guy who was just there with the title in his last two months of his reign. He gets presented a new title. He gets in a program with a hot heel Undertaker. He then gets in a program with a returning legend who has been getting face heat better now than in 1992/93 when he left the wwf. HE BETTER be over.

I just think that heel Triple H will be much more effective and won't at times feel forced. I think sometimes the cheers and chant seems forced. It doesn't come out of emotion like the chants of "what" or what Vince gets. You never really hear fans chant Triple H out of the blue like they do for Rock, Hogan, or Austin anytime someone is getting a beat down or something. That is the difference.

Triple H doesn't seem to be willing to do what needs to be done to be a face, at least for him to be a face. Back in the DX days he was cocky and funny and played to the crowed.  He could do that as a face or as a cool heel.  His heel character for quite awhile now has been this intense, pissed off, determined to beat respect out of any goddamn body he wants, asshole.  He hasn't changed as a face.  He is a face that demands respect from the fans?  That doesn't go over anymore.  That's one of the reasons Bret Hart is so disatisfied with the current state of wrestling.

Rocky is over as a face because he entertains, and very often gets a mudhole stomped in his back eliciting sympathy.

When Jericho was over as a face, again, it was because he was entertaining and funny, he picked on the right people and was willing to be face in peril when necessary.

RVD is over as a face because he has in-ring charisma, wrestles an entertaining match and just comes across well as the happy go lucky pot smoking dude everyone would like to have as a buddy.

Stone Cold is over as a face because people live through him. The everyday joe who flips off the boss, slams a beer and is just having fun while saying exactly what is on his mind.

Triple H as a face? He is still pissed off, we as the audience really have nothing to emphathize with.  He doesn't really job in such a way that it ever looks like he is in any danger so we can't fear for him.  He doesn't entertain us with sparkling promos.  His wreslting style also isn't of the type to enthrall us and pull us in on that alone.

I think Triple H is a great heel, and I think he can be a good face, but not in his current character.

Turn him now. Since he's SO over with the fans, he might as well put it to good use and turn on them. That way he gets the huge reaction and we have no more face HHH.
