dutchse.cx Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 http://www.computertraining.com Basically, I'm giving this certification program a look and I wanted to see if anyone had heard anything good or bad about it. I already had a meeting with the class instructor and a representative to go over preliminary shit, but I'm also well aware that they'll say great things about the program no matter what. I had a chance to talk to some students as well inside the class and they all had nothing but great things to say about the program and the instructor. The tuition seems pretty damn expensive ($20,800, able to be spread out in loan payments over 15 years), all things considered, so if anyone's had any experience with this particular program, let me know how it was before I go throwing around that sort of money.
MrRant Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 FOR CERTIFICATION?!!! It's only freaking a few hundred dollars for a test (depending on the one). Check your local community college. A lot of them will offer say a A+ course plus the test for $2000. If you can self study get a cert book and take the test and only be out $50 for the book and whatever the test is.
dutchse.cx Posted October 3, 2003 Author Report Posted October 3, 2003 It's actually a 6 month course that TRAINS you to become certified in: MCP MCSE Cat 5 Cabling MCSA Cisco CCNA Cisco CCDA So no, it's not $20K just to take the tests.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 That was the stupidest test ever. I'm glad I put in some random shmuck's phone number.
dutchse.cx Posted October 3, 2003 Author Report Posted October 3, 2003 Yeah, the test was fucking asinine. It's just checking for basic knowledge though. Anyone who doesn't know shit as easy as that might as well forget about networking.
