Guest Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I thought the Tajiri/Kidman match was great, and the Tajiri/Torrie segment afterwards was also great. With the crowd chanting What? after every sentence, and Tazz's comments, it was hilarious. Tajiri rattled some Japanese thing off, and Tazz was like "I say the same thing to my wife when I'm mad at her." I thought it was cool to see Hogan in Red/Yellow again, but no Real American, so its still not as good as it could be. Where are they going with this, for Backlash? Face vs. Face? Or is HHH gonna turn? It sounded like it a bit. The belt looked good, albeit a little small, but not bad. Billy & Chuck retained (ha, I need at least one tag team to root for, and I think its Billy & Chuck now. ) Rock has kind of changed, but it seems as if its a setup, now that he's a complete asskisser. I hope so, whereas I didn't really mean the Rock as a top face, he was better heel. The most thankful note of the night would be when I heard Michael Cole say something along the lines of, "HHH was scheduled to fight Undertaker at Backlash, but now the dead man's been replaced by Hogan!" Thank god, I can't stand Undertaker. That Edge/Angle segment with the signs was funny, but that's not gonna help either of them move up the rankings very much. So far, for Backlash, it looks like we'll have: WWF Title Match - HHH vs. Hogan (someone else will probably be interjected, at the hands of Flair or one of the Mcmahons) WWF IC Title Match - RVD vs. Eddie Guerrero Angle vs. Edge (If I'm not mistaken, they haven't had a clean finish yet, in a singles match, so they're probably bound to continue this till Backlash) Scottie 2 Hotty vs. Albert (Should be a fun one. ??? ) Kane/Austin vs. nWo (This is bound to happen, either that or Austin vs. Taker) Are they planning to have any Inter-show matches? Could the Main Event possibly be HHH vs. Hogan vs. Taker?
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I've heard, though not officially, that intershow-matches will be Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania only.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I've heard, though not officially, that intershow-matches will be Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania only. i heard it'd be survivor series and summerslam too. ya know the 4 big ppv's...
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 That would make more sense, especially if they did more Survivor-style elimination matches. And I'm assuming the KotR tournament will be inter-show.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 5, 2002 i miss the matches when the whole survivor series was all elimanation style matches it was so unique.
Guest Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I will now state the obvious. Hogan is old. Hogan should not wrestle. That is all. Wow, that was great because it's so true.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 5, 2002 unfortunetly it's not so obvious to the fans at smackdown. it makes you wanna cry don't it?
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 The cruiserweight title matches was pretty damn good IMO. The stuff with Tajiri and Torrie was pretty funny and it was good to see Kidman getting a title win. The Rock is a giant Hogan ass kisser BTW.
Guest Report post Posted April 5, 2002 The show was pretty good. Although the Tajiri and Kidman match didn't seem right. There was something about it that made it not very enjoyable. Can't quite put my finger on it. The Zoo Crew has broken up! The Zoo Crew has broken up! Looks like I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight. I'm sure we're all in suspence as to why Albert turned.......an award winning promo I'm sure is on the horizon. Edge vs. Angle feud..........I guess I'll have to live with it Could Rock be any more Hogan's bitch? Christian vs. DDP was solid, as always Hogan looked like a life sized "rocket popsicle." The heroic Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs the hated Hunter Herst Helmsley = a holy hell of a hallacious H^6th match
Guest Nater Report post Posted April 5, 2002 Rock & Hogan ... Skipper & The Captain Is Maven hardcore or is he just gonna be Al Snow 2.0? Thank god the main event wasnt a show of power by an irrate Austin trying to be what he was a couple years ago. Rock vs. Jericho.. yay. Low tech again unfortunately.. I dont know why Angle didnt punch Edge the minute he saw him like he has been doing lately..

Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 5, 2002 The good: Kidmans return, Jericho not being entirely demoted from the main event...ummm... The bad: HHH v Hogan, Rock kissing Hulk's ass, Edge sucking, Albert push, DDP de-push, Michael Cole getting even *worse*which is amazing. After the first week of the split, nothing has changed. Ho-hum.
Guest notJames Report post Posted April 5, 2002 You know what the worst part is? S(mcMahon)down has the better roster, but the absolute worst commentary team. Cole and his Don Johnson retro 80s wardrobe illustrates just how clueless and out of touch he is (as if his match calling and shilling didn't already), and Tazzzzz has finally gone over the edge and ditched his once-convincing bad ass persona infavour of this new Lawler-lite gimmick, where everything's a bad one-liner opportunity and he forgets to berate Cole over not knowing move names (the only thing he was good at). And what was up with him glory-holing Hogan like that? Didn't he used to badmouth him up and down back in the day? Yeah, I know, they're just saying what they're told to say, but jeez, not everyone needs to bow at the altar of the Orange HHH, especially the supposed HEEL commentator. Bad, bad, bad. Guest Goodear Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I've said it before, but Hogan should have sticked with the Hollywood ensemble I really think the red and yellow is too dated and cheesy for more than a two match farewell thing. Look to WCW when he finally went bak to red and yellow BIG pop (for the WCW crowd) for about a week, then the fans just got sick of it. Yeah, but this is the updated Hollywood-ized Red and Yellow complete with all the Voodoo that You Do Chili. I like the change actually, there's way too much black and white in the wrestlers' wardrobe nowadays. There are other colors to choose from if yah know what I mean? Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 Billy Kidman has one hell of a WWF Career. If memory serves, he won the Cruiserweight Title on the second WCW match on WWF TV. He then lost it on his first defense to X-Pac. First match back, he wins it again. Good thing Pac's on the other show.
Guest notJames Report post Posted April 5, 2002 All I know is I had to put on some sunglasses when the GobbledyHulker came on my TV with his day-glo feather ensemble. It practically melted the first layer of my TV screen. And I think the neighbors from across the street were gonna call the fire department because they saw this ungodly blaze of light from my living room window. Guest Tim Cooke Report post Posted April 5, 2002 "I read spoilers saying that the cruiser match was about 10-13 minutes or so, so it may have been edited." No chance it was edited. I read all the spoilers and no where did it say it was edited. Plus, watch the match, they never once cut away or had a sequence which could have been akward to show they did some clipping (i.e. Gaora TV when they clip, they have a sequence from 4-5 minutes in and then cut and pick up with a similiar looking one later in the match). "The cruiserweight title matches was pretty damn good IMO." It kind of worked for a 4 minute CW match but was nothing compared to the dying days of WCW. Kidman looked really good and made Tajiri shine. Other than the opening sequence, it was rushed, full of no transitions, and didn't make a whole lot of sense. Guest Kinetic Report post Posted April 5, 2002 Rock & Hogan ... Skipper & The Captain Ah, but Skipper was the captain. Gilligan was his little buddy. Vince is Thurston Howell III. Let's call HHH the professor. Linda is Mrs. Howell. Torrie Wilson is Maryanne. Stacy is Ginger. It's that simple.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 Would it be accurate to say, in the weeks leading to Mania, Jericho was Stephanie's Gilligan?
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted April 5, 2002 Would it be accurate to say, in the weeks leading to Mania, Jericho was Stephanie's Gilligan? Jericho is the New McMahon-Helmsley Era's permanent Gilligan.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 Remember, in the movie, Gilligan was key in getting them off the island. A sign of things to come?
Guest Report post Posted April 5, 2002 They should pull Tazz from Smackdown and replace him with Raven. It wouldn't hurt Michael Cole to learn a few new words from Raven.
