We open in the ring with CM Punk. He is on the mic. "Tonight I am pissed off. I was promised by MLW that I'd get that poser Red. Well, he went off to Japan and is hiding from me, and MLW won't do anything about it! They once again persecute the righteous, as I, CM Punk, true straight edge, am being held down from showing I am the best in the world. So let whoever has something to prove get down here, because I came here to wrestle Damn It!" And then The music of Paul London Hits!

 

CM Punk Vs Paul London

 

This was a great back and forth match. After Punks initial surprise of Seeing former WWE'r London he got right into the swing of things. Punk controlled early with a DDT and side Russian Leg sweep, trying to set up the Pepsi Plunge. London took over with a Moonsault drop-kick and back heel kick. Following up a Huracanrana and Back suplex with a Moonsault got him two and a half, and a London chant from the FT. Lauderdale crowd. Punk, not wishing to be upstaged, ducked a lariat and delivered a devastating DDT variation he calls the Devilock DDT, and both men were out. Both men get to their feet dizzily. Punk sets London up top for the Plunge, but London shoves him off to deliver the London Calling Shooting Star Press for Three!

Steve Corino is backstage. He gets on the mic and talks about the hardships he endures as MLW champ. "You see this belt? It means I am the Major League Wrestling Champion of the WORLD! WORLD, Christopher Daniels! I defend this belt all over the world. Pro Wrestling Zero One in Japan, England, even Mexico! I defend this belt everywhere! I have missed my son Cody growing up for this belt! You don't deserve this belt Daniels! You have done Nothing! NOTHING! Tonight I will show you why I am the MLW Global Honor Crown Champion, and why you will never be."

 

 

 

 

CW Anderson and Simon Diamond (GHC Tag Champs) Vs Jerry Lynn and Mikey Whipwreck with Father James Mitchell

 

James Mitchell's Army of Darkness challenges the Extreme Horsemen for the Global Honor Crown tag straps. Lynn and Diamond start off. Solid back and forth action with Lynn working the arm and tagging out to Mikey. Mikey attempts to continue the armwork but is caught with a superkick, allowing the tag to the Enforcer, CW Anderson. Anderson controls the smaller Whipwreck with power moves, including the incredible Standing Superplex. Tag and Double Suplex by the champs. Simon begins to Systematically take apart the deranged one. Another double team by the Horsemen infuriates Lynn as he storms the ring, only to be cut off by the ref, allowing the Champs another doubleteam. After another few minutes of abuse Mikey makes the hot tag and Lynn cleans house. But after being caught with a quick Anderson left jab, Lynn rolls out of the ring, semi-concious, leaving Mikey prone to the Superkick-Spinebuster combo, putting him down for the 1..2..3. After the match Jerry Lynn isn't happy about losing, but Mitchell is able to keep the peace.

STEVE CORINO © Vs CHRISTOPHER DANIELS GHC TITLE MATCH

This match was a clash of styles to be sure. Steve Corino, possibly the best brawler on the Independent circuit, tried to control the flow of the match. Christopher Daniels, possibly the best all around wrestler in the world, tried to keep it a straight wrestling contest. The beginning of the contest was controlled by the champ, as the two gladiators fought around the outside of the ring. Once back inside the Fallen Angel took over, hitting a leg lariat and going to work on the neck, a setup for the dangerous Angels Wings finisher. After a gutwrench suplex Daniels takes a moment to long to go for his patented Triple Jump Moonsault, and misses wildly crashing to the mat. Corino took back over with punches and kicks, wearing the Fallen Angel down. After a few minutes of back and forth action, Daniels hits an STO. He picks up the champ in a reverse front face lock and signals for the Last Rites, another devastating finisher. But tonight it was not to be. Corino swings through with the move, using Daniels to his advantage and moving into position to hit the Old School Expulsion. He hits it, gaining a clean victory over Christopher Daniels. As Corino stands it the ring celebrating, AJ STYLES, making his MLW debut rushes the ring and nails him with a Styles Clash! He then picks up Daniels and hits one on him too! Why is AJ Here!? We are out of time until next week!

Hello wrestling fans this is Joey Styles, the voice of MLW. This past Monday was a night of incredible action, and MLW plans on making this Mondays showing even better. The show started off with a bang as Paul London, formerly of WWE, made his return to Hybrid wrestling with a hard fought win over CM Punk. With rumors of a Jr. Heavyweight Title tournament on the way, this young man may have returned at just the right time.

 

Speaking of CM Punk, Los Maximos weren't at all happy with the comments he made about their cousin Red.

 

The biggest shock of the night came at the end of the hard hitting main event of Steve Corino verses Christopher Daniels, as AJ Styles (no relation) made his MLW debut, laying out both men with his devastating Styles Clash. We'll be hearing from AJ and The Fallen Angel this Monday.

 

Also, Major League Wrestling is proud to announce that we have signed Independent Superstar tag team The Briscoe Boys, to appear soon.

 

I am incredibly happy about the impending debut of Low Ki. This man is one of the most intense and entertaining WRESTLERS you will ever see.

MLW UNDERGROUND TV 11/10./03

 

Joey welcomes us to MLW Hybrid Wrestling Underground TV and informs us that in the Main Event AJ Styles makes his official In ring Debut against the Insane Luchador Super Crazy! Joey sends it down to the ring where CM Punk has the mic!

 

 

 

"Not this guy again." Quips Joey. Punk gives the crowd a smug smile and begins to speak.

 

"Once again, CM Punk is being jerked around by the MLW offices. I don't even have a match tonight! I mean, sending Paul London out to take me by surprise is one thing, but not booking me at all is a travesty!" But he is cut off by the Music of Joel and Jose, LOS MAXIMOS! They slide into the ring and Jose grabs the mic away from Punk.

 

"Last week you insulted our family. Maybe you don't have any family to stand up for, but we do. No one calls our cousin a poser and a coward and gets away with it."

 

"He didn't actually call him a coward." Joey adds. "But it was implied."

 

"Oh, but your wrong. I do have family. My straight edge brothers." Punk responds. But the Maximos will have none of it. They attack, much to the liking of the Ft. Lauderdale crowd. They seem to be ready to put Punk out, but then someone comes flying to the ring from the back.

 

"That's Colt Cabana!" Joey screams! They brawl for a minute or two before a ref slides in and the bell rings, signaling an impromptu match!

 

 

 

The Second City Saints Vs Los Maximos

Fast and furious action to start as both teams exchange armdrags. A double drop-kick sends CM Punk out of the ring and allows Joel to take control on Colt.

 

"Frankly I don't know much about this Colt Cabana. I know he is Punks tag partner out of the Midwest. And that's about it." Joey professes.

 

Colt falls out the back of a suplex attempt and rakes Joel's eyes. He hits a back suplex and tags out. Punk comes in and hits a DDT for two. Joel fights out of a headlock and hits an enziguri. He tries to make a tag but Punk clips his leg out and drags him back to the Saints corner. Tag between the Saints.

 

"Double Stun Gun!" Joey shouts. "This team out of the Midwest looks awesome here tonight."

 

Colt hits a belly to belly suplex and hits a somersault senton for two. Colt picks him up and locks him in a suplex, but Joel slips out the back and grabs a rear waistlock, but Colt flips and lands on his feet during the German Suplex attempt and hits a back wheel kick! The crowd breaks out into a MLW Chant! Tag CM Punk who comes in and slaps on a dragon sleeper.

 

"He's trying to choke the life out of him, torking his neck in the progress. Joel hits a few forearms and shifts the move into a Northern Lights suplex!

 

"No bridge, all impact!" Joel crawls to his brother, but Punk hangs onto a leg, allowing Colt to come in and Put him down with a boot. Punk hits a neckbreaker and tags out to Colt. They whip him off the ropes and put their heads down for a double backdrop. Joel kicks Punk down and hits an enziguri on Colt! HOT TAG JOSE!

 

Forearm for Colt! German for Punk! Colt charges and gets dropped with a drop toe hold. Jose sets him up in a Mexican surfboard and Joel locks on a dragon sleeper!

 

"THE MAXIMO STRETCH!" Joey yells. "This match is breaking down!" Before Colt can tap, however, CM Punk runs up, bounds off Colts chest and nails Joel with a shining Wizard!

 

"SHIIIIIIIIIIINIIIIIIING WIZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAA!" Yells Joey in his faux Japanese accent.

 

Jose releases the hold and charges Punk. He hits a lariat and a German suplex. Bridges for 1....2...NO! Colt hits a slingshot legdrop from the apron. He covers for two before Joel brakes it up!

 

"SKULLET DRIVER! ONE TWO NO! DEVIL LOCK DDT! 1 2 NO! JOSE WITH A FOLDING POWERBOMB! COLT SAVES! COLT HELPS PUNK UP! PUNK WITH A BLUE THUNDER BOMB WHILE COLT HITS A NECKBREAKER! THEY CALL THAT THE STRAIGHT EDGE! ONE TWO THREE!!!!!!" Joey yells through the entire finish. "That was one of the most amazing last two minutes I have ever called." Joey says. "We'll be back after I catch my breath."

We come back to see the Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels in the back. "Last Monday, I was but one step away from completing my ascension, capturing the MLW heavyweight title. But then, as I was but one move away from glory, I was struck down by a pretender. A false king. This is not over Steve Corino. I will be back to finish my ascension. You can send out your horsemen, for they hold no power over the hand of the Lord. I will finish what I started one week ago. Now as if this failure was not enough, I was struck down by someone who dose not even belong here. AJ Styles, I do not know why you decided to come here, and I certainly do not understand why you chose to interject yourself in my affairs. But now you must finish this. AJ Styles, you will regret the day you crossed the Fallen Angel. For when you anger me, you tempt fate. Do not think, that just because I am focused on the MLW Title, that I will forget you. I am coming for you AJ Styles. All you can do is say your prayers, although I doubt they will save you." We fade to commercial.

 

 

 

 

We're back. "Ladies and Gents we are about to hear why AJ Styles is here in MLW, straight from the horses, or in this case, phenoms, mouth.

 

"Ya know, everyone's been asking me, why are ya here in MLW AJ? Why did ya attack Corino and Daniels, AJ? Well, duh! I'm here because I want to prove to these Florida fans I'm the best! And how better to do that then take out the two top guys? It's not that hard to figure out. AJ Styles is here to show the fans here that I am the best in the world. And if ya don't already know, ya gonna learn real quick." And with that we take our final commercial break.

 

 

 

 

"And now it's time for the main event!" Joey yells as we come back. Making his way to the ring is Super Crazy, who rolls under the rope and kips up crisply, as is his trademark. "The Insane Luchador! This should be an incredible contest! You can see Crazy has dropped a few pounds on his recent tour of the orient." Joey says as the house music changes and AJ Styles makes his way to the ring. AJ hops the top rope and we are underway!

 

"Lock up to start, Crazy controls with an arm wringer. AJ rolls through and grabs one of his own. Crazy kips out of it and takes the arm back but AJ uses the momentum and keeps control. He sweeps the leg and applies a cross armbreaker. Crazy makes the ropes." Joey calls as the crowd applauds appreciatively. "Crazy with an armdrag, AJ is right back up with one of his own! Crazy ducks a clothesline and gets a crucifix roll up! ONE TWO NO! AJ kicks out." Crazy bounds off the ropes and hits a flying headscissors, but AJ is by the far ropes and handsprings off them ALA Tajiri and hits an elbow, much to the delight of the crowd who burst into a MLW chant! "OH MY GOD! That was amazing!" AJ unloads with a brutal barrage of stiff front kicks and slams Crazy down. He flings himself off the ropes and hits a beautiful somersault senton! He covers for two. He picks him up, delivers a knee and springs off the ropes, hitting the Luchador with his own variation of the spinning neckbreaker. He covers for another two. Crazy gets back to his feet and sent outside with a sweet spin kick. AJ turns to the fans, riling them up. They respond with a "SHOW US SOMETHING!" Chant. AJ obliges, in a way few can. He takes barely a running start and hits a STANDING MOONSAULT CON HILIO! Joey nearly blows out a lung on the "OH MY GOD!" and the fans add in a "HOLY SH*T!"

 

AJ, who may have landed funny on his knee is first to get up, although it is tentative. He picks Super Crazy up, and the Insane one promptly goes low. Crazy whips Styles into the guardrail, and turns to mock the crowd. AJ has other ideas as he slides, baseball style, under the rail! As Crazy turns to go back on the attack he is met with a RAIL JUMP SHOULDER TACKLE!

 

"Jeeze," Joey quips, "I don't know if my lungs can take to many of this kids matches." AJ rolls Crazy into the ring and follows. He picks up his foe and hits a forearm, stunning him. AJ springs off the middle rope and moonsaults back catching Crazy in the Quebrada DDT! He covers for Two and a half! Crazy gets to his feet. AJ charges with a discuss lariat but Crazy ducks and snaps off a huracanrana! He goes to the corner, perhaps thinking this will be his only chance, and attempts the triple spring Crazysault! It hits knees and AJ follows up with his KIP UP HURACANRANA! AJ motions to the crowd it's time for the STYLES CLASH! He picks crazy up and holds him perpendicular to the ground and hooks his arms with his legs. He drops down, driving Crazy to the mat. The three is fundamental (81 66 97)

This week MLW Hybrid wrestling will be back and better than ever. We will see Michael Shane, with the Queen of Saline, I mean Extreme, Francine, take on the Extreme Chairman, La Parka. Also The MLW WORLD CHAMPION Steve Corino will take on Masato Tanaka for the title in Japan! All this plus more this Monday night!

 

And in other news, MLW is making preparations for the JR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT, as we have contacted some of the top talent in the world. More updates will follow in the coming weeks.

 

A major announcement for the main event of WRESTLEFEST '03 will take place in the Underground this Monday.

 

The Briscoe Boys will make their debut at WRESTLEFEST as well.

It's not the sound, but more of the practices.

 

Your storylines are more talent/match based, you hold a "who stands where on the title listing", and you also do tournaments with big emphaze to put over talent.

 

...basically, you do a lot of things right. And you book accordingly as well.

 

I'm not sure personally, as I've never seen MLW or RoH. So I'm just stabbing at the dark here.

with the exception of terry funk and the older guys, MLW is much the same way as far as booking people with talent. I just think it's a good idea to offer WRESTLING as an alternitive rather than the same thing, just in a different wrapper.

"Hello everyone, this is Joey Styles, the voice of Major League Wrestling. Tonight we have a great show for you. Up first we'll see Michael Shane take on the Extreme Chairman, La Parka. This match will also be no DQ, a stipulation agreed on by both parties right before we went on air. CM Punk and Colt Cabana, the Second City Saints, say they have a surprise for not only The Maximos, but all MLW fans as well. In our main event, we will see a MLW world title match from the Japanese promotion Zero One, as Steve Corinio will take on Masato Tanaka. But first, I have a major announcement for the Big WRESTLEFEST 03 show. Due to the lobbying of The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels and MLW Champ Steve Corino, the main event of WRESTLEFEST will be a triple threat match with AJ Styles. If, at that time, Corino is still the champ, it will be a title match. It looks like they are ready in the ring, so strap in your seat belts because here we go!"

 

La Parka Vs Michael Shane

Caboose by Sugar Ray blares through the loudspeakers, and Michael Shane makes his way to the ring. "Michael Shane, along with the 'Queen of Saline, Francine are on their way to the ring. Say what you will about this kid, he may be pompous, arrogant, and conceited, but he can wrestle. And say what you will about Francine, because it's all true." Joey quips. Shane gets in the ring and awaits his opponent.

 

The lights dim and La Parka's music comes on as the "extreme Chairman" steps through the curtain, chair in hand. He slides under the bottom rope, but get jumped by Shane as soon as he is in the ring.

 

"Shane, not wanting to waste any time is all over La Parka. He picks him up and sends him off the ropes, tilt-a-whirl headscissors by La Parka! Shane takes a powder! Parka charges, and nails Shane with a baseball slide! Parka follows it up with a Pescado! The crowd is totally behind La Parka!" Joey yells. La Parka picks Shane up and goes to work with right hands. "Shane blocks a punch, and goes low with a kick to the cajones! Francine liked that one, but the crowd sure didn't. Shane follows up by whipping Parka into the guard rails! Shane grabs a chair, and bashes Parka over the head with it! That has to hurt! He rolls Parka back into the ring, because that's the only place you can win this match! It's no DQ, not falls count anywhere. Cover. One, two, No! Parka kicks out!" Joey calls.

 

Shane stands La Parka up and grabs a side waist lock. "Teardrop back suplex! Shades of his cousin Shawn Michaels!" Joey yells out. "Boobzilla, I mean Francine liked that one. On a related note, it says here Francine recently moved to silicon valley, no I read that wrong. Silicon valley recently moved onto Francine!" Joey cracks. "Cover, One, Two, Parka gets a foot on the ropes! Parka gets to his feet, and Shane sends him off the ropes. Clothesline, Parka ducks and delivers a drop-kick! Clothesline sends Shane back to the outside. Parka grabs his chair and rolls outside with him." Joey says. Parka delivers a vicious chair shot that rings throughout Tabu! "Goodness Gracious! That shot just busted Shane wide open! Parka delivers another one! This is getting ugly for Mike Shane!" Joey yells as Parka tells the fans right behind the steel barrier to move. "Parka charges, looking for another chairshot, but NO! Shane backdrops him OVER THE RAILING ON TO MORE CHAIRS!" Joey shouts as the Orlando crowd gets hyped with a MLW chant. Shane collapses to the floor as Francine rushes to him.

 

"Shane is back on his feet and he hops the rail. Parka gets to his feet. Snap Jab, ALA HBK, Shane's cousin. Just ask him about it, he'll tell ya. And another! A third sends Parka back over the rail to the ringside area! Shane rolls Parka back into the ring and climbs the turnbuckles! Don't play to the crowd kid! Put him away!" Joey shouts as Shane stops to taunt the crowd. "PICTURE PERFECT ELBOW!" Joey shouts as Shane flies through the air, looking eerily similar to his famous cousin. "No! La Parka moved! Shane gets nothing but mat! Both guys are out!"

 

"Shane's first to feet, but the Chairman is right behind him. Shane with a right hand! Parka with one of his own! Parka with another! Kick to the gut! Parka hooks him in a suplex and drops him in a BRAINBUSTAAAAAAA!" Joey yells. "Cover, ONE! TWO! NO! Shane kicks out!" Parka gets to his feet and picks Shane up. "Front slam, and Parka is climbing the ropes! SKY TWISTAAAAAA PRESSSSSSS! MISSES!" Joey yells as Parka flies through the air and clunks to the mat. "Shane hobbles to his feet and picks up La Parka. He may be looking for The Superkick! He does, It misses and La Parka drops Shane with a right hand! Parka grabs his trusty chair! Swing! MISS! VAN SHANENATOR!" Joey yells as Shane superkicks the chair back into Parka's face. "COVER ONE! TWO! THREE!" Joey yells as the referee raises Shane's hand in victory. Shane climbs the ropes and taunts the crowd, soaking up the boos. Parka shakily climbs to his feet and grabs the chair. "Look out kid!" Joey yells at him. It's to late as Parka cracks the chair over Shane's head. Francine tries to bail but La Parka catches her. "Do it Parka! Nail her!" Joey encourages him. Parka of corse, obliges. We fade to a commercial as Parka soaks up the cheers.

We come back and see CM Punk and Colt Cabana in the back. They are hanging around a shadowy staircase, and you can see the legs of someone else hanging off the side.

 

"My name is CM Punk." Punk begins, speaking slowly.

 

"And I am Colt Cabana." Colt interjects in a way a TV gameshow host would be introduced.

 

"And we are the Saints." Punk continues. "And we are straight Edge, meaning we are better not only than The Maximos, or the entire MLW roster, but all of you who drink, or smoke or do drugs too. And once again, MLW officials have decided they need to be rid of the "problem" we present. They think a team like the Maximos are better representatives for them. Maybe they are right. Perhaps the Maximos are a better fit to represent the drunken masses."

 

"I mean seriously!" Cabana interjects. "We could smell the alcohol on you as soon as we hit the ring! And we saw you at the hotel bar after our match. I don't even want to think about what other smells the booze was masking. I doubt I'd even know what half the things you all are on even are!"

 

"But we will not be deterred. We have gone to the MLW offices and asked another match with the Maximos, just to prove our point to all you out there. Perhaps someone up there is starting to get it."

 

But Colt interrupts again. "Or maybe they just want to see us get our butts kicked, it really doesn't matter." Colt sees Punks glare and quickly apologizes. "Sorry boss."

 

"It doesn't matter, because we got the match. But that isn't enough. We decided we need another member in our little circle. We need someone who is dedicated to the Straight Edge life. Someone who can handle the ridicule, the taunts, and the hate. Someone with talent..."

 

"Someone female." Colt adds with a grin. Punk shakes his head, as if embarrassed.

 

"But he's right." He adds. "I'd like to introduce you to the newest Saint. Alexis Laree." Alexis steps out of the shadows.

 

"It's hard for anyone to be Straight Edge. It is even harder for a woman. There is so much more expected of us. But I am Straight Edge through and through. So when my good friend CM Punk asked me to join the crusade here in MLW, I accepted the invitation without a moments hesitation. And so we're here, to save all you fans from the sea of moral decay you're all drowning in! And yet you still hate us! Boo us! Do you not see we are not the enemy! We are here to make you all better! But you don't see that yet, but you will. Because we are Straight Edge."

 

"And that means we are better than you." They finish in unison.... We'll be right back.

 

 

We come back and we are with Joey in the Nest. "Welcome back Hybrid Wrestling Fans. WRESTLEFEST 03' will be a huge event. We are glad to announce that we will be announcing the participants for our JCUP USA tourney the night after WRESTLEFEST, right here in the Underground. What?" Joey asks as someone is apparently talking in his ear. "We have the Saints in the ring? Now? Who gave them the mic? They just had a segment! Must be Alexis. I like her as much as anyone, but the propaganda crap has to go." Joey rants. "Let's go to the ring." Joey says as if defeated.

 

Punk has the mic.

 

"Well, well well. It looks like you all won't be getting rid of us anytime soon. MLW has given us a match with the Maximos at WRESTLEFEST. Maybe this time all you fans will see we are right after we destroy those idiots one more time." He is cut short by "Run Rabbit Run, by Eminem blaring over the PA.

 

"Los Maximos are on their way to the ring!" Joey shouts as Joel and Jose hit the ring. They grab the mic.

 

"Idiots? We are idiots? You come out here week after week and preach about stuff no one wants to hear and we are the idiots? You're loco man. You all are the ones who are gonna get some sense beaten into them. You see, we wanted a rematch too. And MLW gave us both what we want. But this wont be a regular match. It'll be a no DQ match!" Jose shouts and gets a big pop from the crowd. He drops the mic and the two teams jaw before being separated. We go to commercial.

 

 

"We're back and we are heading to the ring for our second match of the night." Joey says. A death metal song is blaring over the loudspeakers and Jerry Lynn makes his way to the ring. "Jerry Lynn, the Evil F'n Show, accompanied by the unholy altar boy Mikey Whipwreck." Joey says. Lynn stands in the ring and Mikey makes a nuisance of himself.

 

Then P-I-M-P by 50 Cent comes on the system and a new face in MLW steps through the curtain. He wears a Dr. Suess-like top hat and blue leopard skin pants. It's Spanky! A Large Spanky chant starts up as Spanky dances in the isle!

 

"What the hell? Oh my God it's Brian Kendrick! SPANKY IN MLW? What is this kid on? I mean look at him, he can't be sober dressed like that!" Joey screams. Spanky gets in the ring as Jerry Lynn gives him a look that can be summed up in the phrase "What the F**k?" Spanky throws his hat into the crowd and the bell rings.

"Lockup to start, Lynn controls with a wristlock. Spanky counters by rolling through and grabs one of his own. Lynn elbows him in the face and shifts it to a hammerlock. Spanky again rolls through, but he grabs a headscissors into a cradle! ONE! TWO! Kickout!" Joey shouts. "He surprised Lynn there." He says as they face off.

 

"Another lockup. Spanky with a headlock, into a hammerlock. Lynn counters with a high snapmare into a chinlock. Spanky gets to his feet, and drops down with a jawbreaker! Spanky follows it up with three quick forearms and sends him off the ropes. Hiplock takeover, no countered into one by Lynn, NO! Spanky counters into a monkeyflip mid move!" Joey shouts as this starts an even louder SPANKY chant. "Lynn charges and gets caught with an armdrag. Lynn is up and catches Spanky with one. Spanky back up and charges and Lynn catches him with a tilt-a-whril backbreaker! He puts the boots to him, Spanky catches his leg and trips him. Both men back up and Spanky bounds off the ropes, huracanrana by Spanky! Hangs on to his legs, ONE TWO TWO AND A HALF!" Joey calls as Spanky almost pulls off an upset.

 

"You know, this Spanky kid seems like a total goofball, but dang it, he's a goofball with talent. Spanky pounds away on Lynn, but Lynn pulls a trick out of the vereran bag with a greco Roman poke to the eye! Lynn hotshots Spanky on the top rope! Follows it up with a clothesline. And a hangman neckbreaker. Cover, one, two, foot on the rope. Looks like he may be trying to soften up Spanky's neck for the Cradle Piledriver. Suplex, Spanky falls out the back into a rear waist lock, standing switch, back suplex by Lynn! Spanky rolls under the ropes." Lynn seeing this, starts talking to the ref, allowing Mikey to get in some cheapshots. "Look at that, Mikey drops an elbow across the back of the neck! And another! Now he rolls him back inside and Lynn drops a knee across the throat. Lynn picks him up and goes for another back suplex, Spanky lands on his feet! Reverse springboard Leg lariat by Spanky! What a move! Cover! Lynn kicks out at two!"

 

"Spanky has some flashy moves, but they seem to lack cohesion." Joey analyzes. "Spanky with a front slam, and looks for a quebrada! Knees up by Lynn. Spanky is hunched over, Lynn to his feet, DDT! Spanky lands right on his head! Cover! ONE TWO NOPE!" Joey shouts as Spanky gets a shoulder up at two. "Lynn lifts him up into a firemans carry, probably looking for the TKO. Spanky slides out the back and hits an over the knee reverse DDT! Wow! That had to hurt! Spanky picks him up and it looks like he is looking for the SLICED BREAD #2! Crotched! Lynn with a perfect counter! He just crotched him on the top turnbuckle! Lynn grabs his arms, SPLASH MOUNTAIN! That has to be it! ONE TWO TWO AND NINE-TENTHS! THAT WAS THIS CLOSE!" Lynn gets up arguing with the ref, Mike Keener. He picks Spanky up but gets hit with a quick forearm. "Spanky bounces off the ropes, goes for a sunset flip, Blocked! Back Drop Driver by Lynn! That has to be it! He's not covering! Don't get cocky Jerry! Picks the kid up, CRADLE PILEDRIVER! That is it. Over. 1.2.3. It's over. Spanky was good, but not good enough tonight. What's this now? Lynn's putting the boots to him, and Mikey is joining in! What the hell! Paul London makes the save with a chair! Lynn and Whipwreck bail!" Joey calls as the Legion of Darkness makes their way to the back.

We are in the back with Francine and Michael Shane. "La Parka, you want to hit me with a chair? That's fine, I can take it. But don't you dare lay a hand on Francine again! Don't you know how to treat a lady? I mean ARRRGH!" He lets out a grunt of frustration. Francine places a hand on his shoulder.

 

"Don't worry, it's not all his fault. It's MLW's fault. They encourage this type of thing. Don't worry, the boys are coming in, soon." She says to him.

 

"You sure, they're coming this time?"

 

"Yea, we'll be unbeatable. You just handle you." Shane smiles as we cut back to Joey.

 

"What the hell? Who is she talking about. Anyway up next we have the MLW WORLD TITLE MATCH. This took place late last week in Japan, as Steve Corino takes on Masato Tanaka. Don't expect any high flying here, expect hard hitting, strong style goodness."

Tanaka is in the ring. Corino makes his way to the ring accompanied by his son Cody. Joey does the commentary. "For all the crap I give Steve Corino about being a coward, he is certainly a fighting champion in Japan. He is one of the most well respected foreigners in Zero One. He takes on Masato Tanaka, a man many of you remember from ECW. This should be an awesome contest." Joey says as the bell rings.

 

"Stare-down to start. Corino bounces off the ropes and hits a lariat, but Tanaka doesn't move. Corino with a kick to the gut. Gutwrench suplex! Cover, but Tanaka is out at one. Corino picks him up, but Tanaka delivers a forearm strike and hits a bodyslam. Bounds off the ropes, drops an elbow. Cover, but Corino is out. Tanaka goes for a suplex, blocked by Corino and turned into one of his own. He floats over and unloads out of the mount. Ref calls for the break and pulls Corino off." Both guys regroup and we are back to the lockup.

 

"Corino with a wristlock, into an armbar. Tanaka drops to the mat and Corino slaps on a cross-armbreaker! Tanaka locks his hands to relieve the pressure and makes his way under the ropes. Another break. Corino goes back to the arm but Tanaka fires off a few right hands. Forearm strike, he hits a lifting DDT! Corino landed on his head! Cover, One! Two! Nope! Not yet, It'll take more than that to finish off the champ. He picks Corino up and looks for a back suplex, but Corino grabs the top rope. Nice counter. Elbow to the head by the champ and he slaps on a Fujiwara armbar!" The crowd pops huge! "Tanaka's under the rope so we get a break. Corino puts the boots to him, and Tanaka rolls out to the floor. Corino follows him out and brings the right hands. Tanaka blocks one, elbow strike! And another! He slams Corino onto the entrance ramp! Tanaka's on the apron, Corino gets to his feet, TORNADO DDT ONTO THE RAMP! OH MY GOD!" Joey shouts. Corino rolls off the ramp to the floor, leaving a trail of blood behind him. "Steve Corino bleeding? Alert the presses!" Tanaka rolls him back in the ring.

 

"Tanaka climbs to the top rope. Frog Splash! Corino moves! Both men are down! Corino uses the ropes and is up, so is Tanaka! Single arm DDT by Corino! Corino is trying to take Masato Tanaka's arm out of the matchup! Probably a good idea, as that Roaring Elbow is very dangerous. Corino picks him up and delivers an Arm-stunner! Don't know the wacky Japanese name, but that's what Corino calls it! The fans here are all over Steve Corino. As much as they respect his fighting sprit, they hate his cowardly antics. And stuff like that!" Joey shouts as Corino wipes the blood off his head and splatters it across Tanaka's back. He kicks at the arm a few times and stops to pose for the crowd. "Look out behind you Champ!" Joey yells as Tanaka makes his way to his feet behind Corino. "German Suplex! No bridge, all impact!" Joey yells.

 

"That arm is not in good shape though! Tanaka is definitely favoring it! Corino gets to his feet, and Tanaka nails him with a right hand! He sends Corino off the ropes, and catches him with a powerslam! Cover-One, Two, Nope! He picks Corino up, oh! Corino fires off a kick to the arm! Finger to the eye! Backdrop Suplex! Corino slaps on a cross-armbreaker! Tanaka can't lock his hands! This could dislocate an elbow! Tanaka's fighting, yes! He makes it to the ropes! Tanaka rolls to the outside again! Corino follows! Corino grabs the arm, and wraps it around the post! Again! Corino kicks the arm! And again, no! Tanaka catches his leg! Dragon Screw Leg whip on the Floor! Tanaka rolls into the ring, byeing himself some time. Corino slowly makes his way back in. His head may have hit the concrete. Tanaka charges with a Lariat! With the good arm, of course. Man he turned Corino inside out. We may have a new champ! ONE! TWO! TWO AND A HALF! I thought that was it! Tanaka picks him up, POWERBOMB! ONE! TWO! TWO AND THREE QUARTERS! It looks like that hurt the arm farther! Corino to one knee, here comes Tanaka! Ballshot! How did the ref miss that? Brainbuster style suplex! Cover! Only gets two! LARIATOOOOOO! CORINO DROPS TANAKA! ANOTHER LARIATOOOOOOO! THAT'S IT! ONE! TWO THREE!!!!!! CORINIO WINS IT! 65 51 80

MLW.com MID WEEK NEWS REPORT

Hello everyone, this is Joey Styles. We are just days away from WRESTLEFEST '03, a show that promises to launch MLW in a new direction. We'll see MLW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION Steve Corino take on the Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles in a three way dance for the title. Also, Low-Ki will make his debut against the Evil F'n Show Jerry Lynn. This one promises to be great.

 

Also making their debut at this show will be Northeast Independent standouts the Briscoe Boys take on MLW Tag Champs the Extreme Horsemen for the titles! Why a title shot on their first night here? Because the Horsemen wanted this match, so they put the titles up!

 

Also, Los Maximos will take on the Saints in a no DQ match! The Saints are on a role here, with a win over the Maximos and a new member in Alexis Laree, but will this stipulation be their downfall as Los Maximos hope?
