Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 That AOL ad in the back if the most fake computer generated ad I have ever seen.
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Speaking of fucking up, 4-pitch walk from Triple-A to Lowell.
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Ha, they just called Carl Pavano a John Mayer look a like.
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Where the fuck was that pitch location? The backstop?
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Someone should tell Tim McCarver that Contreras can't speak English.
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 And now Triple-A Jose can't find the goddamn strike zone. Can we just fast forward to Game 6 and see if the Yanks can take 2 in the Bronx?
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Stuff like "look out" is fairly international. And thanks for nothing Triple-A Jose.
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Ground rule double! Since when is A-Gone captain clutch?
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Penny 2 RBI single. Put in Weaver, let him pitch the rest of the game as punishment for last night, and load up the plane for the Bronx.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 looks like Torre won't be able to use Contreras very long. It's time! It's time! It's Weaver time!
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Hammond up in the pen. Get Triple-A Jose the FUCK out of there and put in someone who can get an out. Odds are Pettitte will be in before the fourth inning.
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 I doubt that, that would fuck up the rotation for 6-7. They NEED Pettite.
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Finally this shit is over. Get Triple-A Jose out of there.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Would he dare put Pettite in?
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 I doubt that, that would fuck up the rotation for 6-7. They NEED Pettite. They need someone who can get an out. They'd work Mussina in 6, and Clemens in 7. Gotta go to NHB and make 5000th post...
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 time for a Sandman post celebration! the kids in the front row diving for cover from flying tube shards was classic.
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Jeff Loria bought McKeon a mercedes today. I really think he's going to keep the team together and perhaps add more payroll. I just have a feeling he wants to win.
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 An owner who doesn't want to win (Re: Pohald, Carl) isn't an owner that a person should want to play for.
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Well, the previous Marlins owner, Wayne Huizenga, didn't really want to win. He just wanted a profit. The team is still suffering from it 6 years later. Fucking bastard.
Slayer Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 The hell, I come back from dinner and Wells is already out? He musta got yanked because he's JUST TOO FAT </scooter>
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Some stuff y'all, specifically Mik, might find interesting. I grew up in Portland, ME, where the Marlins had their AA affiliate for 9 years, until it switched over to the Red Sox this year. So I've seen Beckett, A.J., Penny, Charles Johnson, and others play. Also, McKeon lived in Elon, NC, which just happens to be where I go to school.
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Lucky you, I'd have loved to be around to see that. My hometown has the Phillies AAA affiliate, the Red Barons, but I'm not interested in Phillies related stuff. But Marlins farm team...damn I'd have season tickets.
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 At least Triple-A Jose is done. Game is not going well at all, it'll be another miracle if the Yanks can pull close. Considering it's like they're playing with their cards exposed to the other table members.
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Former old school Marlin Chris Hammond on his way on to throw a bit... Give him a proper greeting, boys.
Mik Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 SO close to a 2 run HR, 6-1 lead. Oh well.
Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Who replaced the Yanks with this little league team? A team known for its poise under pressure on the largest stage is falling apart at the seams. And now it's 6-1. Pull the rest of the bullpen into the dugout, give the ball to that fuckup Weaver, tell him to finish the job before Saturday, and not to come back to New York.
