Guest TDinDC1112 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 I was there. It was a squash. Sabin didn't do much at all. For everyone who bitches that TNA "takes" stars (Punk) in ROH and makes them lousy, this was the same thing in just the reverse - which I'm fine with by the way as every promotion has the right to book however they want. For the sake of the match though, it was basically a squash.
Guest OSIcon Report post Posted October 28, 2003 Sabin has lost to the Following people in ROH: - 6/14 vs. Homicide vs. John Walters vs. Justin Credible (Was Not Involved in the finish which saw main eventer Homicide go over). - 6/28 vs. NWA World Champion AJ Styles (Obviously a main eventer....not harm losing to the NWA Champion in a title match) - 8/9 vs. Homicide (Again, Homicide is a top guy in ROH) - 9/6 vs. Jay Briscoe vs. ROH Champion Somoa Joe vs. NWA CHampion AJ Styles (took the pin from Jay. You could argue that Jay shouldn't be beating Sabin, but he was still in a main event caliber match) - 9/20 vs. COlt Cabana vs. Matt Stryker vs. AJ Styles (another big match and he didn't take the pin) - 10/16 vs. Matt Stryker (Stryker is most likely going to win the FOH and is def. making it to the finals). - 10/25 vs. Xavier (former ROH Champion and needed to win to set up proper booking for FOH) He is fighting almost exclusively top tier guys and in big matches. It is not like he is losing all of his matches to fellow mid carders. He is still over and it put over. In ROH, a wrestler's performances are more important then their win/loss records to most of the fans. Even besides that, once the Field of Honor is done, he will start to pick up some big wins. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 Here's something that I'm happy to hear: from the locker room scoops: "ROH was very excited at the great fans that showed up in Spencerport, NY. We realize we made a mistake by running such an obscure location and we will come to the Buffalo/Rochester area with a much better building in the spring or summer. It looks like ROH has yet another new home"
