ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 This is our (the White Sox) final year to do something, for the most part, with the team we have. We wasted 6 of those years with Manual, but hopefully with someone else we can get some good things. If we can actually get to keep Colon, that will help tremendously (obviously). Apparently, Mags wants $10 million more over one less year than we can afford (or are willing to give him, but I lean more toward the afford part since Reinsdorf is no Steinbrenner or Tribune Company), so that would be a huge blow next year. I don't know what it was but offensively I think the White Sox had one of the most talented rosters outside the Braves and Red Sox and completely blew it. I don't know what it was but offensively I think the White Sox had one of the most talented rosters outside the Braves and Red Sox and completely blew it. The Sox were good this year. They did blow it. And the El-Train Series wasn't that far off before and couldn't be that far off this year. Barring that collapse they would've won the AL Central and would've fared better than the Twins.
