LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 That's too bad because I love ghost stories. Who cares if Halloween is over...let's tell ghost stories! Anyone have weird occurances or sightings? Anyone ever go online and listen to those supposed ghost voices or EVP's? Those are creepy whether they're real or not.
A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 No, I actually haven't heard anything like that. Sounds interesting, though. I remember hearing stories about the second floor of my old daycare center being haunted. The place was an old converted elementary school, which was vacant until the daycare people showed up, so maybe there was some bums or Satan worshippers who were over there. I always hear stories about a haunted children's orphanage only about an hour or so away from me up in a town called Sherman, but I've never looked into it. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 If you want to listen to evp's you can search google for some pages. Supposedly researchers tape record "haunted" areas and voices show up on the tape. Some sound really fake and others just sound creepy.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 Sure, I'll bite. I'll post a story about what I know, that being Denver's Cheesman Park. It's said to be haunted, or if not that, there's simply a general feeling of despair and sadness. Although I think ghost stories and hauntings are bunk, the dreary atmosphere of the park seems somewhat accurate from my visits there. For the full story. For the abridged version, one of the founders of the city set aside land for a cemetary. Things were going fine for a while, before it fell into a state of disrepair for the most part, as it was being used exclusively for transients, criminals and such. Also, two new cemetaries were taking away any business. This cemetary was renamed, and began passing from owner to owner until it fell into the hands of Denver itself. With the cemetary now an eyesore, and surrounded by a growing Denver, plans were created to make it into a park. Friends, family and otherwise were given 90 days to move the bodies. While the mayor at the time was away on business, bills were rapidly passed and the contract for moving the unclaimed bodies into other cemetaries was picked up. However, being greedy since for every body he was paid a certain amount of money, the undertaker who picked up the contract deemed that the bodies be packed into caskets that were much too small. Bodies not yet deteriorated into only bones were broken apart, with body parts of the deceased being mixed and matched with others. In addition, many of the staff were robbing the coffins of any valuables. With body parts strewn about and reports of lost souls knocking on the doors of and appearing in the homes of the surrounding neighborhood, the public became angry and the whole thing became a giant scandal. The mayor returned and an investigation was launched. With the entire thing being a black eye and considered unsalvageable at this point, the plans to erect the current Cheesman Park proceeded. Except that any remaining graves or body parts were left where they were, and the park was built on top of them.

Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted November 3, 2003 Scary dreams Farkers shared: OK, here is mine. I've only had it once, but it's the only one that stuck with me for several days. I'm in a room that's being drowned out by the white fluorescent lights in the ceiling. You know, a supermarket type of brightness. The room I'm in is about the size of your average fast food restaurant. The tile one the floor is white and shows definite signs of age. Slowly, the rest of the room comes into focus. I must have been drugged because my head is spinning and I feel very weak. I begin to notice there are about six other people in the room with me. They too look like they've been drugged as well because everyone is sprawled out on the floor and all but myself are having a difficult time keeping their heads steady. Yawning, I begin to get a clearer picture of my surroundings. I notice that in fact, there are two rooms. It only seemed as though there was one room because the entrance to the second room was on the opposite side of me, and the tile on the walls gave off a kind of "connecting" illusion. I keep hearing crying but no one in the room I'm in is making any noise. At this point I make an attempt to stand up, but when I do, an overwhelming feeling of nausea keeps me planted firmly on the ground. That crying sound turns to what I can only describe as demented moaning interrupted with what I believe is "please stop." Suddenly, the loud sound of a struggle and banging metal grabs everyone's attention and as my focus continues to improve, I notice a thin man, who is sitting closest to the entrance to the next room, begins to sob very loudly. I keep concentrating on the sound coming from the other room, but the thin man crying on the floor is interfering with my translation of what's going on. However, what I am able to make out sends my mind in a panic. It is a combination of sounds that are happening at the same time, but I am able to distinguish each one. The first is a man humming. The second is the sound of a plastic bag being crumpled. The third is a dual sound of coughing and what seems like gurgling. The crying man on the ground suddenly stops and turns his head to peer into the room. His face turns to sheer horror at what he sees. I yell out a stream of obscenities directed at whatever is in the other room. The horrified man begins to tear at his throat. He is trying to kill himself before it's his turn to go into the room, but he is too weak to do any damage. The last thing I see before I wake up is a large figure in a blood soaked lab outfit grabbing the now hysterical man by the arm and dragging him into the next room.
