Did I mention that I absolutely frickin' LOVE the Spanky/London team?

London is good but I just don't like Spanky's offense.

Whaaaat? Spanky's got some fun offense.

Such as?

He did a big boot tonight. That's something you'd see out of a plodding unskilled big man. And his finisher is a modified Dudley Dog which is a finisher I never liked in the first place.

He's just not as good as he's pimped out to be.

No his finisher isn't a Dudley Dog. A Dudley Dog requires the person taking the move to do all the work.

Spanky's move is more of a Flipping Reverse DDT.

When I first saw that Ernest Miller promo, I thought it was a commercial for another crappy UPN show.

Did I say it was a Dudley Dog? No. I *know* what Spanky's finisher is and aside from the end part of it it looks the same as Spike's, with the other guy doing the work, which is exactly the reason I don't like it.

Yeah I was thinking that too... I don't want Morgan's finisher to be the sitout bomb. I would rather have him do a cool high-impact move like the F-5  but not that move specifically, just a move in that high-impact category.

In the few OVW matches that I've seen, Morgan used a chokeslam as his finisher. I think he even used a top-rope splash a couple of times, but I can't remember for sure.

How is the other guy doing all the work?? I don't see it. Naturally most pro wrestling moves require both people to do work, but I don't see it being overly on the opponent's shoulders in this one.

DeMott putting over the cruisers was cool. Of course, they're probably good friends from their WCW days.

Let me answer that question with another question.

How is it that with Spike it's the other guy doing all the work but with Spanky it's not? They both execute the move while the other guy clearly is supporting them by holding their backs.

The opponet has the option to throw Spike or take the bump after the jump off the ropes. Also it looks like the opponet is just there to spot for Spike or Spanky then they take the bump.

The Dudley Dog's problem doesn't lie in running up the ropes...it's the part where they turn completely around in the air because the person taking the move had to shift both people.

Spanky's move is just flipping over and letting the momentum bring you down.

I have no problem with grabbing someone by the head and running up the turnbuckles. That doesn't take more work by the opponent.

I liked Velocity tonight.

Orlando Jordan just ISNT growing on me. He has potential though. Kanyon is a lost cause. He is a talented and likeable worker, but he's been a WWE joke and just isn't very interesting to me. Didn't like the match.

Billy Kidman Vs. Rhyno. Thought it'd be super-boring. It was actually pretty decent. Kidman worked well and Rhyno meshed well with his style. We got to see some of each guy's high-profile moves, and Rhyno gets the Gore for a clean win.

The Cat is returning. Urgh...

Spanky/London Vs. the jobbers. The shaved head guy actually worked very well. The long-haired guy was kinda dull. This match had to be super-piped in because the crowd EXPLODED for EVERY impact move, even for the jobbers. I liked the match, we got to see each team perform a lot of manuevers, no blown spots, and a good show of London and the shaved head guy (Murray something?)'s abilities.

Bill DeMott was pretty good...much better than Ernest Miller, and a change from Tazz (who I like, a bit). He pointed out crucial strategies in the match and sold the wrestlers moves well.

Tajiri/Moore was good, if kinda heatless. Seems Moore is being pushed more as a face...

Thoughts?

Same, with opponents that are the same size. On larger opponents it just doesn't look believeable.

But that's only part of it. Looking at the hot tag part of tonight's match and comparing it with the same section of last week's match, London's offensive flurry looked crisper, and more believable. And partly because of that I find London more impressive and someone I'd rather watch.

Damn, that Stu segment was fucking nice.

I agree.

Even with heavier opponents Spanky is just jumping up...that doesn't require him to lift his opponent. He's just jumping up and pushing off and then letting the downward momentum take them down.

Big show is too tall to be on an offensive line...

Rey could be the sneaky little rb but he wouldnt last a year.

TBS could just block the kicks...

Mysterio could be the little Punt Returner that no one can catch or for that matter...FIND.

No he isn't. He is running while grabbing the head while the other guy runs with him (?!), just like the Dudley Dog.

A lot of the time he's close enough to the corner that the opponent doesn't really have too move much.

And like I said before the Dudley Dog's problem lies in the opponent having to turn around in the middle of the move.

But not always. See Judgment Day for an example.

Agreed. Which is why I dislike that move more. And Ultimo's finisher kills them both.
