Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Report post Posted November 3, 2003 Hey everybody, For a group project, a friend of mine is trying to convert web movies (stuff like Homestar runner) onto videotape. I'm pretty sure it has to go from a flash/shockwave file to an .avi file, so how does that happen? Anybody know? Sorry if that made no sense, I'm a neophyte when it comes to most computer tech. Guest One Trick Pony Report post Posted November 3, 2003 I'm pretty sure you need one of those video cards with the coaxial cable plug on the end (the round thing that sticks out and has grooves on it) to be installed on the computer. Then you just hook the vcr cable to that and play it on the comp while recording it on VHS.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 Those are called Flash movies, because they use a plugin called Flash. The program that makes them, also called Flash (by these guys) can make an AVI out of a Flash movie. Not even sure that if you managed to get a *cough* free trial whether the Flash movies themselves have some sort of protection on them that keep people from opening up others' work in the editor.
