IWGP Jr. Tag Titles Vacated

Jushin Thunder Liger & Koji Kanemoto today vacated the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Title, ten months after capturing them from Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi. Kanemoto's left cheekbone was fractured in three places after a punch from Kazunari Murakami yesterday in Yokohama, and he's expected to be out for about three months. Since the young lion pair of Ryusuke Taguchi & Hirooki Goto are #1 contenders, they will automatically enter the decision match. However, four teams will enter another tournament to determine who faces them. They are Jushin Thunder Liger & El Samurai, Tiger Mask & Heat, Jado & Gedo, and Katsushi Takemura & American Dragon (telling us that Dragon will serve as the rudos' fourth member). All matches will take place on "BATTLE FINAL 2003", the two tournament semi finals on the tour opener, 11/24 Korakuen, and the final on 11/29 Miyagi. The title match itself will take place later that night, giving the young lions an advantage and bigger chance of winning gold so early in their careers.

I like Murakami but he just went WAY up on my shit list, I was SO damn pumped to see Lyger and Kanemoto make the rookies look like a million bucks before Kanemoto punked them out and won the match.

I'm GIDDY about the possibility of Liger and Danielson in the same ring. The best junior of the last generation against the best junior of this one. Man, a motivated Liger and Danielson in the same ring...puts GOOSEBUMPS ALL OVER~!

 

This is a big chance for Danielson to get over in NJPW, as before this he's been put in random 6-man tags and such where he didn't get to shine at all.

I think Tiger Mask IV & Heat would make really good champions. Sad to see Liger and Kanemoto vacating, they've been really great - plus I am a big fan of them both.
