In my opinion, it is pretty well impossible in today's day and age to have a "monopoly" over indy wrestling.

ROH is the most recognized indy in the country, they draw some of the best houses and they pay the best.

They've got a smart business model, and they have a prime location for a homebase.

There are only so many wrestlers that you can put on a show, and more often than not, yes....the guys will choose an ROH booking over another one.

Does that make them a monopoly?.... No. I think it's just become the "place to be" among the wrestling community, and props to them for making it work. We're in a wrestling recession here and the business is in the worst shape ever. ANY promotion that has a successful business model and provides some quality wrestling, in my opinion....we should ALL be thankful for. And that goes for not just ROH but ALL the indys, IWA, CZW, Wildside, PWG, ..... (I don't really classify TNA as an indy but then again, it isn't really a major market company.....it's more like an experiment in spending money. Unfortunately for them, the company hasn't made a proffit yet and who knows how long Panda will continue to fund them losing money hand over fist, but hopefully they'll stick around for a while) Those groups are standing the test of time and continuing to promote. We may not all like what they produce, but without them it's WWE or nothing......and that means we're reduced to only what Vince feels like subjecting us to. And that is the mixed bag of the WWE: Sometimes it's some great wrestling, sometimes it's some great angles....and lot's of times...it's total crap.

As a fan today I'm simply thankful for all the wrestling outlets available. Indy wrestling has NEVER been this strong, and it's a direct result of WWE being the only major market wrestling company around. There are so many styles of wrestling out there now and each of the major indies has found it's promotional niche. There's just so much negativity on wrestling period as realtes to the internet, I figured I'd try to start this week off on a positive note....
