haVoc 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Orton and Batista are ME guys? A match here and there in the ME doesn't count.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted November 11, 2003 With the WWE's mindset, particulary in Orton's case it does, with his involvment at SurSeries being a good example. If they are stupid enough to switch the title back to HHH on Sunday (add myname to the list who think it should be GB- Batista, then theyll almost certainly pull the trigger on the seperation of Orton/Batista from HHH/Flair, and Orton-HHH for Armageddon
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted November 11, 2003 without reading through all this I believe they should make Little Johnny a midget, because damnit midgets are cool.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I think Angle/Shane at KOTR that year was better then both. It was.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 11, 2003 (edited) I've grown to hate it. Shane gets off on "outwrestling" Angle or something. Edited November 11, 2003 by Anglesault
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I've grown to hate it. Shane gets of on "outwrestling" Angle or something. I hate that aspect of it, but the match itself is better than the two ladder matches. I think we can all agree that out of all the ladder matches in 2001, Benoit/Jericho was by far the best. Guest Goodear Report post Posted November 11, 2003 And Goodear--that's another issue: Orton's already an upper midcarder on his way to the main in the office's eyes. Rather than using the low-card guys to move the midcard guys up, they have a static midcard consisting of guys they intend never to elevate, and use them to get over (or attempt to get over) guys like Orton, Jones, Cade, Jindrak, etc. The marks and smarks already like and have connected with guys like RVD, Booker, and Jericho--so WWE not utilizing them, and gambling them to try to make stars out of guys like Orton seems highly illogical. (Note: I'm not going to debate the pros/cons of those guys as main eventers, just using them as examples.) See but this is what I don't get. RVD, Booker, and Jericho have done absolutely zero jobs to Orton, Orlando, Cade and Jindrak that I know about. Quite frankly, Shawn Michaels is the only high profile win that Orton has (he didn't eliminate anyone in the Chamber did he? I want to say Jericho got Nash and everyone else got laid out by Goldberg but I'm not positive). Orlando hasn't beaten anyone on SmackDown and Cade/Jindrak have only gotten a few flukey wins and none against the aforementioned 'lost generation'. Look, I'm not saying that RVD and Booker should be jobbing to these guys either. I'm merely trying to illustrate that Orton and the new guys aren't getting this super BJ push that everyone seems to think he's getting other than Jim Ross being all up in their jocks. And quite frankly, the announcers are supposed to be doign that sort of thing. And the next person that tells me that Orton is 'rumored to main event Wrestlemania', I'll remind that he was also rumored to win the Intercontinental Title and The Elimination Chamber by now... and he hasn't. In fact, he couldn't even beat Michaels without Flair's help. Other than the career length--which isn't an advantage for Orton because he's been extremely injury prone so far--there's no real advantage to going with Orton. Plus, if that were really the problem, then why do we have the SAME guys on top for sooo long? The same guys are on top because Vince is not a big fan of taking risks with the main event. Only on rare 'OMG this is guy is a phenom' occasions does Vince elevate someone that high like he did with Angle and Brock. Otherwise, he stays with 'old reliables' which is what just about every wrestling promoter in wrestling history has done. The thing is the lack of elevation of the upper midcard to the main event has about zero to do with Randy Orton who hasn't even beaten any of those guys yet and hardly looked even competitive with Booker T.
