Guest HartFan86 Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 In your opinion, who do you believe takes the Stone Cold Stunner the best?
Guest the BURNHAM Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Although individually, I do like Shane's beer stunner, on a continuous basis I like the Rock's "flying aroudn the ring" sell, and Angle's "paralysis" sell of it the best.
Guest Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 I love the way Rock sells it. His head bounces like a pogo stick
Guest commish13 Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 my favorite is the HBK stunner from WM XIV.
Guest the BURNHAM Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Kurt Angle Although I agree, is anyone really surprised?
Guest godthedog Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 the rock comically oversells the stunner, which is good for laughs but hardly adds to the plausibility of a match. i crack up whenever i see it. same goes for scott hall's selling of the stunner at wrestlemania, which was hilarious. i love the way angle sells it. i also remember one night on raw during the invasion, when the old stone cold came back: he ran to the ring & gave stunners to everyone in sight, & i remember that kanyon did a great selling job of the stunner, but i can't remember exactly what he did. can anybody help me out here, anyone remember what how he did it?

Kanyon did like a backflip out of the ring or something. I just remember it being one hilarious.
Guest Y2DAYDAY Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Scott Hall at Mania takes the prize!!
Guest Downhome Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 I know this wasn't the question, but anyhow... ...Steve Austin himself sells a Stunner the WORST. For him to be the guy who is most famous for doing it, he sells it whenever someone does it to him like a half-bastard. PS Rocky & Kurt Angle both sell it perfectly, with the Hall selling at WM kicking all ass, lol.
Guest Zoltan Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Easily it's Angle as people stated before. The worst is Vince McMahon that is if he doesn't screw it up as he does 3 out of 4 times.
Guest godthedog Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 yup, austin's pretty shitty at selling his own maneuver. vince is absolutely god-awful at it. flair couldn't sell it properly either. at canadian stampede, i was also disappointed in the way brian pillman sold the stunner, i thought it would be something flashier; but i guess that was before the age when flashy selling of the stunner was chic.
Guest Kinetic Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 I just think it's cool that there's such a wide variety of ways to sell it. My personal favorite is The Rock's, but more specifically at "Royal Rumble 1998." He took, bounced up, stumbled around, and got thrown over the top rope. That's poetry in motion, people.
Guest Special K Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Though I do like Angle's, and find Rock's funny, the best has to be RVD's. Before Austin lands Rvd kicks his feet up in the air so he takes ALL the impact on his neck. And that's supposed to the point of the stunner, Austin's shoulder jamming into your throat. I think Rock's is damn goofy, but I don't mind since he often oversells things to get the move over ('cept for submissions, bleh) look at his selling of Hogan's legdrop. It was pretty comical too.
Guest The Man They Call Texas Blu Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 The best was at WM 15 when the Rock took the Stunner. It looked like he hit the ground, bounced back up, hit the ropes and fell back down. Oh, the was great.
Guest Mole Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Angle does it the best, no doubt. Once he gets stunned, his body just goes straight stiff, and he falls straight on his back. It actually looks like he was stunned. Too bad we won't see a stunner on Angle for a long while..
Guest Insanityman Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Angle probably, it's just way I'd picture it if it really happened.
Guest Austin3164life Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 I'll have to admit. Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels sell the Stunner the best. Kurt Angle falls exactly like Austin doesn (in sync), bounces straight up, and falls flat. See Summerslam 2001 for details. Shawn Michaels sells it quickly, but he also falls in sync with Austin and makes the Stunner look more painful. Most comical selling would have to go to The Rock. Especially the Raw where Angle turned heel to the alliance. Rock was kicking Regal's ass, and then Austin ran in, Stunned the Rock, and Rock rolled, then used his arms to push his body up and fall flat on his face. Funny as hell. Strange that at that Raw, the Stunner got the biggest pop, even though he was a heel.....
Guest crandamaniac Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Scott Hall, and Kurt Angle, for the reasons stated above *honorable mentions: SGT. Slaughter (when he flipped over austin's shoulder) and D'lo Brown (1st ever stunner on a truck)
Guest Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 I personally prefer Benoit's selling of the stunner. The way he stays on his feet until the impact is made, then he falls straight back. I think thats how it should be taken, not like how Rocky takes it. That looks god awful.
Guest HartFan86 Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 I personally prefer Benoit's selling of the stunner. The way he stays on his feet until the impact is made, then he falls straight back. The Undertaker has done that in the past and it does look sick.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Yeah, Slaughter sold it nicely with the front flip. Say, did Bret Hart ever eat a Stunner? I just don't remember seeing him get hit with it on RAWs.
Guest HartFan86 Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 Yes, he has a few times. He usually just spinned on his back. Nothing fancy.
Guest Some Guy Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 I hate how Rock sells the Stunner. How am I supposed to beleive that he is knocked out when he's doing back flips all over the ring? It looks stupid and he always ends up landing in the ropes which is counter-productive. HBK sell job at Mania 14 with just dropping to 1 knee and quickly flipping over to his back and RVD no knees sell are the best IMO. Hall's jump up 3 ft and flat back bump is the funniest and Vince's sell is the worst.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 In the rumble Saturn did the same sort of thing Hall does, but i just somehow liked it more. He looked like a cartoon character. More so.
Guest What?! Posted April 8, 2002 Report Posted April 8, 2002 I'm going to go with The Rock. Sure it looks funny, but it's professional wrestling where putting a sock on your hand enhances your finisher or using a worm before a karate chop makes it devastating.
Guest Posted April 8, 2002 Report Posted April 8, 2002 I like the way Benoit sells it. Angle's isn't logical, why would you stand up if you were unconscious.
