Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 It should still be in the spoiler tags. There are people that are trying to read the thread to see what people have said about games they've played. Not to have EVERY game spoiled. MD, no offense, but if the game is over 3 years old, I shouldn't HAVE to put spoilers on it. Because as I had originally said, if it's been 3 years and you haven't played that game, most likely you aren't about to break out in a mad rush to do so. Edit: I can't fucking spell or put sentences together worth a fucking damn today.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 It's still annoying to have it spoiled for you. What if I had never thought of picking it up and you said "I really liked Spoiler (Highlight to Read): This part " Then it wouldn't be ruined and I might think "Hey I think I'll go try that game." The spoiler tags are there for a reason. They should be used for all spoilers regardless.
Guest Kamui Report post Posted November 18, 2003 The FFX ending is emotional. The part where Yuna and Tidus try to hug but she goes through him is incredibly sad. If I recall, that's about the exact part where the actual tears came. That was the saddest scene I've ever seen in a videogame, bar none. And Andrew, bite me, Xenosaga rules. -Duo
Jer 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 The ending FMV for FF6 in FFA gave me chills, and still does pretty much every time I watch it. The Suikoden 2 ending where Jowy dies got me close to tears. I know it's not the "true" ending, but it's easily the best and most emotional imo. I think the only time I've actually had tears in my eyes was in MGS when Sniper Wolf died. The dialogue in that scene really got to me. Beautiful scene.
Guest OSIcon Report post Posted November 18, 2003 The Opera house isn't even the saddest part of FFVI for me. General Leo dying is a lot more emotional and probably the saddest part of a game I have played. You really get to like all the characters in that game. Leo is put over so strongly as a good guy and you can't help but feel sorry for him when he gets betrayed by the Empire despite how much he trusted them. The way the character's react to his death also puts it over. No other death is really mounred that much, but they are all upset when Leo dies making it that much more emotional. Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I felt like crying when I beat Crystal's Pony Tale for the Sega Genesis. I couldn't believe that I actually finished it, and by the time it was over I was in pain. Yes, Crystal's Pony Tale. It was years and years ago, and my brother's to daughters wanted me to read to them. I didn't feel like reading, so they asked me to play the game so they could watch it. Fuck off. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I cried during original Mario Brothers...well not actually cried but yeah... I couldn't get past the second board and realized I suck at video games. Since I now knew without a doubt that I sucked I was going to be an outsider to the whole video game movement. I was reduced to being someone who watches better players play.
dubq 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 No offense, but frankly, can I ask what the fuck is your problem? Not Sakura, but you vivi? This is a thread about video games that make you cry. DID YOU AND PEOPLE LIKE YOU NOT EXPECT SPOILERS??? Geezus, everything in this thread is going to be a spoiler, so I don't know why you wouldn't expect something to be spoiled on games. Sure, yes, it's the ending, but grow up, the game has been out for shit... I think four or more years now, I don't think there's any necessary need to put up spoilers. Sorry, but if you haven't beaten it by now, or you hate the game, or you have absolutely no burning desire to defeat it (which most people state they do) THEN WHY THE FUCK DO YOU CARE IF SHE SPOILED IT FOR YOU? Oh, I forgot, it's Sakura, we must obscenely bash her because anything she does is evil. [/end rant] First of all, PAL, I don't even fucking follow the TSM "wars" with Sakura. I don't know what she did, or why people don't like her. So don't go jumping to fucking conclusions and TELLING ME that the only reason I'm complaining is because "oh, I forgot, it's Sakura." Second, spoiler warnings or not, there's a fucking tag. There's a reason for it.. Use it. It doesn't matter if the game is three years or thirteen years old. I won't even get into how big of a business the used gaming industry is. Shit like this doesn't fly in the movies folder, so why should it here? "[/end rant]" - get a life. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 (edited) First of all, PAL, I don't even fucking follow the TSM "wars" with Sakura. I don't know what she did, or why people don't like her. So don't go jumping to fucking conclusions and TELLING ME that the only reason I'm complaining is because "oh, I forgot, it's Sakura." I think you misunderstand. We rag on Sakura because a lot of us don't like the new FF games, or just hate FFVIII. It's nothing serious against her. Well, Mighty D seems to genuinely dislike her--but whatever. Maybe one or two are like that. However, she gets rather pushy with her opinions so that's how we often respond. In Sakura's defense, NO she didn't use spoiler tags but YES the first post here warns of spoilers. PLUS--she begins the "spoiler" denoting what it is. "FF VIII's ending" right there. So if you didn't want spoiled you didn't have to read any further. Edited November 18, 2003 by AndrewTS

I think if you search his grave you get a sword. Its either that game or Lufia when one of the original heroes dies that you search the grave and get a sword. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 Andrew, yah, I should know it's joking, and yet, I'm not happy about you guys mocking her about it. Yes, she is pushy and yes, she does slap it in our faces sometimes, but when you guys add few to the fire, then she'll probably do it more often. Just food for though. First of all, PAL, I don't even fucking follow the TSM "wars" with Sakura. I don't know what she did, or why people don't like her. So don't go jumping to fucking conclusions and TELLING ME that the only reason I'm complaining is because "oh, I forgot, it's Sakura." Second, spoiler warnings or not, there's a fucking tag. Shit like this doesn't fly in the movies folder, so why should it here? "[/end rant]" - get a life. Excuse me on thinking you were out to bash her. The way you had worded it, I assumed you were like others out there that just bash her, and frankly, I'm getting a little tired of seeing it. However, the other part still stands. The game has been out for more than 3 years. As I stated earlier, if you haven't played it by now, you ain't in a rush to. And if you ain't in a rush to play it, why should you suddenly care? Are you going to go out of your way of playing through it? If so, then I do apologize for getting on your case about it. If you aren't suddenly going to play the game, then I still apologize for my harshness, but my ground still stands. If it's been this long, and you are in no fashion to get the game finished and it's been about 3+ years, then I don't see why I should put spoilers on it. That's my opinion on it as such. Besides, this title would indicate spoilers are within the thread. It's about sappy things that got ya choked up, which would then mean that you would HAVE to spoil it to tell what it is. I mean, I don't just want to say "I got choked up from FFIV". ...well, for what reason? And I'm sorry, but using spoiler tags is time consuming to the person who is reading this thread. I mean, I don't want to go through every single post and highlight spoiler tags. I just want to read what other people have to say and be done with it. Yes, some things might be spoiled, like endings or such, but you know what? I play the games for the enjoyment of the games. If someone spoils something, well, I know about that before hand. I should still be able to enjoy what that game has to offer because it appeals to my sense of what I like in a video game. If because I find that knowing that spoiler hinders the game in any way from knowning, then I've probably been making excuses about how I like the game when really I don't. And if you had read the rest of my post, which apparently I'm guessing you skipped or didn't read, you would've seen that although I disagree with the idea of 3+ year old games getting spoilers, I was still kind enough to put spoiler tags on the stuff I was spoiling. Also to keep the topic on track, I'd like to add that I thought it was sad about the whole situation at the end of FFX. However, I like how it wasn't the happy ending, but really just and ending to what it was. Hence why I won't accept FFX-2 as a real game or sequel.
Papacita 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 Turtles II: The Arcade Game. Gamepro had printed a false stage select code in one of their magazine, and me and a friend of mine spent tried SO HARD to get that code to work...hell, I'm getting teary-eyed now just thinking about it. Also, Battletoads back when I was like 7 or 8. My brother and I were playing 2-player mode, and we had gotten pretty far in the game...and for whatever reason, I got mad at him and started attacking his guy, but when I tried, he ended up beating me to the punch and beating my guy up. I got seriously pissed and kept coming at him, but he kept beating me up and eventually killed me! I threw a tantrum and ran away crying.

Anya 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 I barely even said anything in my "spoilers". "OMFG she said something big happens to Rinoa & Squall~! THAT RUINS THE ENDING~!" There WAS a spoiler warning for the thread. It's a thread about scenes in games. But whatever. If anyone is honestly bothered that they now know vague details about what happens in the game and that ruins the experience then I'm really sorry I ruined the second best game ever(IMO!!!!!) for you. I have a feeling people are just complaining for the sake of complaining though. Nobody's said a thing about all the other massive spoilers in this thread, like a certain major death in a RPG involving a flower girl.

Y'know, the whole "she only got unbanned because she's a girl" arguement is REAL grade-school. I think Dames made his reasoning for unbanning her 100% clear, and it made perfect sense to me. And I still disagree with using spoiler tags in a thread that gives spoiler warnings AT THE VERY START OF IT. If you keep reading it anyway and bitch about being spoiled, then you're just an idiot. -Duo
