So I downloaded a movie......

Recommended Posts

kill.bill.1.workprint.opium is the format and each individual file is opm-kbla.r and then a number. What do I need to do to make this work? This is my first time downloading a movie, so I am kind of lost. Is there a certain type of player that would make this easier, or is my problem the way I unzipped the zip file? PLEASE HELP.

a couple of files named r01 and so on? Then it is a WinRAR archive. Download here.

It works almost the same as WinZip.

Once you have unrared the file it'll probably be an .mpg or an .avi file. It could also be a disc image or an .ogm file. If you have problems with one of these, ask again.

If it IS a .rN (with N being a number) setup, you just have to unrar the first one..

Ok I did SOMETHING with WinRAR......I ended up turning all the files into two giant files but they are not mpg or avi.....this is what they look like....

kbv1.wp.cd1 & kbv1.wp.cd2

So it basically broke all my files into two huge files, now I still can't get either of these things to play. AM I on the right track with what I did or should I start over. I am not sure what you mean when you say, "un-rar" them. Could you explain that process?

Thanks

Well according to the forums at www.packetnews.com all I need to do is burn the files onto a cd, since I made them into 2 huge bin files. So I guess we will see if this works.

Dammit, Dammit, Dammit........it did everything BUT PLAY, on my dvd player. Argh. I put the disk in, and it loaded like it was going to play, it even put the 1:09 mins thing on there like it new how long it was, but then it just sat there. I hope this isn't a svcd vs. vcd thing..........or maybe this happened cause I didn't burn the cue file onto the disk!?! HELP.

You need the .cue file to burn it on a disc. What kind of burning program do you use?

If you don't want to waste CDs you can also open the files with Daemon Tools. download here.

When you start the program a new symbol will show up in your system tray. Right-click--->Virtual CD-ROM--->Device 0--->Mount image--->open the .cue file.

The image will now show up as a new drive in your Explorer. To actually play the movie you'll probably need a DVD software like WinDVD or PowerDVD.

when you choose to "mount image" what does it actually do? I did this to the cue file and a small box popped up and went away very fast. Now that cue file is listed in the mount image box. What do I do now? Just download windvd/power dvd to play it?

Do you see a new drive in your windows explorer? It should look just like another CD-ROM. Maybe you have to refresh (F5). If it's there you should be able to play it with a DVD software. Just start WinDVD or someting similar and it should load the movie. If it doesn't, look for the biggest file on the new drive (probably a .dat file) and open it with the DVD software.

Ok I am going back to the beginning here, cause I am too confused now.......here is my status:

I have downloaded Kill Bill: The zip file is broken up into a folder named kill.bill.volume.1.workprint.opium

Inside that folder there are a CD1 & CD2 folder. Inside those are all the winRAR files that end with .ro1 .r02 .r03 .r04 etc.......

What do I do RIGHT NOW.......that is the very next step I take?
