HarleyQuinn Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Belle was worth the $10 Mill in 1998 at least, 49 HR's and a .328 BA, .399 OBP and a career high 152 RBI's.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Not to mention top 10 in MVP balloting.
Vern Gagne Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Kirby Puckett getting 7 million a year for banging fat assed white women.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 The Orioles signing Albert Belle to a 5 year contract for $65 million and then he ended up with the degenerative hip and didn't play for the last 3 years of the contract. The Os decided to pay the contract so that they could claim a majority of it back in insurance. This handicapped the team financially up until this year which is why they now have some $40 million to spend on free agents this year.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 How about Albert Belle to the White Sox? Then again, it did a lot to end the strike. -=Mike Can you explain that? The signing occured between the '96 and '97 seasons.
HarleyQuinn Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 I'll toss in San Francisco signing Edgardo Alfonzo for this past season. They pay the guy $4 Mill to hit .259, 13 HR's and a .334 OBP? Hopefully Fonz can improve over the upcoming seasons.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 That reminds me. David Bell. A four year deal, and he hit worse than Burrell.
Guest Anglesault Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Weaver came here in a trade, right? If not, the Dream Wrecker should get it. ::grumbles and storms away::
Guest FrigidSoul Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Weaver came here in a trade, right? If not, the Dream Wrecker should get it. ::grumbles and storms away:: You traded Ted Lily essentially to get him (3 team deal with Oakland, Yanks, and Tigers) I was leaving Hideki Irabu for you since you're a Yankees fan but since you didn't mention him...The Fat Toad was a bust
Guest Anglesault Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 I liked Ted Lily. Eh, Irabu was awful, and damn did I hate him when he played for us (From Day One) but to the best of my knowledge, he never Weavered us, so he gets a little bit of a break.

He was a class act, though.
