Randy Orton's "god push"

Recommended Posts

Guest CronoT
< STILL waiting for a good reason why this is a "god'' push...

Randy Orton is using his position as Levesque's personal BJ machine to get into places it takes people years to get to.

How many YEARS did it take Bret Hart? Shawn Michaels? Mick Foley? Steve (Williams) Austin?

Well Austin was winning TV titles by 1991 so it didn't take long.

There is nothing really wrong with Orton. I mean, he isn't great (or even good) yet or anything, but he's alright. He bumps well, sells well, has a cool finisher and brings some comedy (well, I laughed when he killed Mae Young).

I don't see how he is THAT much worse in the ring than a smark darling like John Cena.

I think it comes down to "God" being easier to say than "Guy with sub-jobber heat taking up 4 segments a show and getting verbally blow jobbed by the announcers for two hours"

Smark Darling?

The only reason some people advocate the cena push is because Cena is hugely over.

Orton gets out booed by Molly.

I also think Cena is better in the ring than Orton by a lot.

That doesn't mean I think cena is great or anything.

Bah, Lesnar was the same, yet everybody loves him now.

Plus, people used to mark for Orton even though he was even less impressive during that RNN stint.

He's not over enough for any push, let alone a puh where he beats up and defeats the top faces on a show.

He beat up the top face on the show? When? He's been given no decisive push over any noteworthy opponents, and was made to look weak by JR and every other announcer in his win over HBK by their constant shrilling that he needed Flair's help to get the job done. Some push.

Lesnar was heatless for a year and a half?

Wow, a member of the main heel stable on Raw taking up FOUR segments! The world must be ending!

You seem to lack the fundemental undertanding necessary to continue this conversation.

So, I see no sense in bashing my head against a wall.

Either that, or you're just being willfully thick-headed and annoying.

I don't think he meant Austin as in WWF Austin, I think he meant as in his whole career. This sounds more like a "paying his dues in the lower ranks" argument which I really am not touching.

As for why it's a god push....I don't see it as a god push because Triple H is god and no way he allows Randy to take his push.

God push would mean you (least I think) bring down every opponent and when they should beat you, you win the match. Hence, a Triple H push.

Randy may or may not develop into something better than Luger (great body look, was pushed too early, horrid to average mic skills, didn't seem to improve despite the fact he should have) but right now, this push isn't the way to go.

An example would be Cena, who lost every damn match he had for a year it seemed but managed to make his character into an easily recognizable face on Smackdown who the crowd responds to. Cena proved he earned his push by showing some, not much but some, improvement in the ring and getting over despite losing most if not all of his feuds.

It is possible people just don't like Randy Orton and don't want to see him because they view him as undeserving.

Also, frankly I wouldn't care if he was letting HHH use him as a toilet if the guy was talented so I'm not getting into that "people don't like him cause he is HHH's boy". So is hosstastic Levithan, but I see the guy as talented

So?

So you'll all be on his cock again in 6 months, saying what a good job the WWE have done getting him over, and neglecting to mention you all whined when his push started.

No chance in hell that happens with me.

I liked Cena, I saw him having an upside and never had an issue with him. Same with Levithan.

But Orton....I'm just not seeing it. I'm sorry, but I'm just not. Some people are good at playing cocky assholes and Randy just doesn't fit. And his face doesn't look like it can change from cocky asshole.

Randy Orton will always be the younger version of Lex Luger to me. If others like him, I think it's fine and dandy. But no backing down from me on this guy.

Wow, a member of the main heel stable on Raw taking up FOUR segments! The world must be ending!

That's part of problem!

A heatless individual in the top heel stable in the company occupying multiple segments.

Or, perhaps, he'll be like Test and never get over?

If he's so heatless, how do you expect him to get heat?

By being in the top heel stable, or jobbing on Sunday Night Heat?

Not a God push.

A push that's much too hard for his non-existant heat.

I expect him to step out of the spotlight until the fans demand that he be pushed.

If they never do, so be it.

Not a God push.

Holy Jesus. Someone admitted that it's not a god push.

Thank you.

I don't think I ever called it a God push.

It, like I said, is merely a guy with jobber level heat hanging around the top of the card.

That's a big problem.

Now, if the rumors of getting the belt at mania are true, THAT would be a God push.

A lot of people did though.

That's my point. He's not main eventing. He's not getting clean wins over main eventers. He's not getting world titles. He's just hanging around Triple H. That's why it isn't a god push.

That's a big problem.

I haven't noticed this giant lack of heat. Perhaps you're just looking to hard for it?

I am looking hard for a big substantial reaction for the guy.

Molly outbooed him last week.

I don't think that a guy who can't get louder boos than the women''s champ should be feuding with HBK or RVD.

Howard Finkel: Here is your winner and NEWWW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.......RANDY ORTON!

If this happens at WMXX then and only then will I say he is being shoved down our throats, until then he's a glorified jobber that happens to be in the main event heel stable. Sort of like Mongo and the Four Horsemen.

The guy's getting a god push because he's the least over guy on RAW getting one of the biggest pushes.

Hell I haven't seen anyone as heatless since the cat on the past smackdown or Rodney Mack during the cracker challenges.

Literally Crickets.
