Guest HartFan86 Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 I watched Raw again from last night on tape and I just realized that Spike Dudley and William Regal was the shortest match in WWF history. It was 2 seconds. Rock/Bossman was 3 seconds at Survivor Series 98. Just wanted to pass that long.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 i counted it to be precisely 1.42 seconds...
Guest Kevin Sullivan Booked My Divorce Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 I guess that means Spike Dudley is the Frank Dux of pro wrestling.
Guest RickyB Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 Hasn't anyone wondered why they've jobbed William Regal to Spike Dudley twice? I know one was a total squash with a fluke finish and that the other one he hit him with a weapon. Could Regal be on his way out?
Guest Brian Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 Their going to have Regal go over at the pay per view.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 I would hope that this is Regals punishment for the horrible Edge feud. Edges punishment being not winning the title back at WrestleMania...which I hear was the plan.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 It could be that WWF is trying to move Regal away from the ring and put him into more of a speaking role. But with so few decent wrestlers on Raw i don't know if they'd take another away from them. But they could always put a few more guys on Raw to replace him easily. Regal is better then quite a few guys currently on tv but he is clearly worth more in a speaking role at this point.

Guest Brian Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 Edge's punishment = a feud with Angle. Ouch!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 yeah, Ghast. The observer reported that the idea was for Edge to regain the title from Regal in his hometown at WrestleMania as a blow off to the feud. But it was scrapped because the matches were so poor...and no one wanted to see it on the 4th straight ppv. So RVD won that #1 contenders match on Raw and won the belt instead. See what it takes for RVD to get elavated?
Guest mR. x Da SpOoKy SeCrEt MaN Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 Spike winning the title = brock taking the title

See what it takes for RVD to get elavated? Eww... the idea of ANOTHER Edge vs. Regal match is a bit scary. Regal's a great heel on the mic, but he can't seem to put out too many good matches lately. But then, what does it say about RVD, supposedly the next big superstar, that he can only get a push for someone else sucking too bad. Anyway, about the "blink and you'll miss it" Spike Dudley vs. Regal match on RAW, I thought it was... well at least it was short. Kinda cute, not too terrible. It is interesting to see Spike Dudley actually have two (consecutive!) wins over someone. Does this mean they might actually be pushing Spike above jobber status? Maybe they'll try some "Dudley Boyz v2.0" tag team thing with Spike and Bubba. I kinda hope not though. The Bubba and Spike "making up" thing was probably just to help establish Bubba as a face now
Guest Downhome Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 If you ask me, no match with is won/lost by pinfall can be any shorter than 3 seconds. The only way for a match to be won/lost in less than 3 seconds, are by submission or instant D/Q. Last night if you ask me was a 3 second match by default, as any count before the ring bell should have counted. That's just how I see it and that's how it's down in "my books".

That damned Spike Dudley requires brass knux AND a fast-count to steal the title... REGAL WAS ROBBED!
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 the spike vs. regal match had won ood thing aout it: the backstage segment with the slurpees reminded me to go and get one ::SLURP:: Ah that's the stuff.

Yea, how often does the cheap promo after/leading into a match last longer than the match itself? Actually, Spike taking a slurpee dumped over his head is a pretty sick bump (really sticky... yuck...), probably worse than he would've taken in the match anyway, and he takes a lot of sick bumps. But then, I don't really like Slurpees either... Actually, I WAS going to get one just for the hell of it, but the only cup they had at my 7-11 was Hardyz & Lita... DAMMIT!
Guest razazteca Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 Wrestlemania 6 had a 5 sec match of the Hart Foundation vs the Bolvichs....er the Russians. Regals promo with ladies was classic
Guest thebear Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 Business=Job He's opening the first bank of Brock
Guest Zero_Cool Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 You know, I actually really want to get an RVD slurpee. Fuck The Rock, fuck those other guys...now I just need to go get one. I enjoyed the fluke brass knux shot from Spike...it's what he did best in ECW, play the lucky underdog.
