Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 And why are you so sure LSU is going to win? Forget about last night. Think about OU's performance from the rest of the season. I'm almost positive that they are favored. Don't write OU off. And LSU had better not write OU off. OU wrote K-State off and paid for it. If LSU writes OU off as a joke based on the K-State game and ignores the rest of the season...then they will get walked all over by OU.
Lando Griffin 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Northwestern is going to a bowl, but Northern Illinois isn't. Bullshit. And Conference USA gets five damn bowls.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Its all about predetermined conference tie-ins and Conference USA some how convinced five bowls this year. The MAC only has two so NIU is left out. The Houston Bowl could have taken them as an at-large but they went with Navy. Oh and I'll definently have the my Bowl Pick 'Em up later tonight.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Northwestern is going to a bowl, but Northern Illinois isn't. Bullshit. And Conference USA gets five damn bowls. Conference USA ALWAYS gets five bowls. It's part of their contract with the bowl committee. Also, LSU will NOT write off Oklahoma. And if anyone would like to know, what is really funny here is this. Who does Sports Illustrated mark as National Champion for that deal they do if USC beats Michigan? Why the winner of OU/LSU And who will the NCAA release merchandise for National Champion? Winner of OU/LSU USC will be nothing more than a * in the record book. Also, Northern Illnois not getting a bowl is a huge joke. No respect for the small conferences at all. Yeah they'd better not write off OU. I doubt they will though. Though there fans seem to. But what are you basing it on? Last night. Pay attention to the rest of the season and you'll see why there was talk of OU being the best ever. OU is still alive and they're probably ready to play better than they have all season. They want to avenge themselves.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 So my BCS bowl picks go as such: OU/LSU: Gotta give the edge to OU. They've played better throughout the season better than anyone in history except for 95 Nebraska. Last nights defeat will create a sense of urgency and a sense of vengeance. They'll be looking to make everyone forget the Big XII championship. And I just have a feeling LSU may think they have it easy based on last night. Which will bring them into a rude awakening. Michigan/USC: God I don't know. I give the edge to Michigan because they've beaten better teams than USC has. They're on a roll as well however USC is angry at being slighted from the Sugar Bowl and they want to go in and prove that they are the National Champions. I go with USC. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Oh and what if the game was OU/USC? Would there be quite as many complaints as there is now? Or would all complaints stop once OU isn't in the game? And I actually would rather have USC. I think OU would have an easier time with them than LSU.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 The hell? I thought after Jan 1st there weren't supposed to be any other bowls besides the BCS... oh well Sorry USC, you're a good team, but my half my college football heart lies with the Wolverines, and my last memory of Michigan-USC in the Rose Bowl was sending Coach Bo off into the sunset with a loss... Go Wolverines! And nothing will be sweeter than having KSU beating both of my most hated teams (Nebraska and OSU) in the same year. Go Wildcats! Oh yes, things are looking up

Guest Just J Report post Posted December 8, 2003 This is a fucking travesty. The #1 team in the nation not playing for the title while a team who couldn't win their own conference is. Unfuckinbelievable.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 You guys don't seem to understand that OU had the toughest schedule out of the 3 and dominated there games better than everyone else. That is the reason they are in the Sugar Bowl. I applaud them for not letting one fuck up ruin a wonderful teams chances.

"Dominating" games had zero to do with them getting to the Sugar Bowl, since they removed margin of victory from the computer polls.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 I don't believe that USC is superior to Oklahoma at all. And the numbers back me up. OU beat better teams and had better quality wins. OU as a whole played much better this season than USC did. One game shouldn't affect this since LSU and USC both lost this season as well. Face it OU haters. They are that good. Don't whine. They're going to prove it by being the national champions for the second time in 4 years.

That is the reason they are in the Sugar Bowl. I applaud them for not letting one fuck up ruin a wonderful teams chances. I also have to disagree with that. LSU played Georgia twice, both times Georgia was ranked in the top five. Playing a top five team twice and also playing a few more top 25 ranked teams. Florida was ranked higher the KSU when they beat LSU. And Oklahoma played two top 25 ranked teams, not counting KSU. Complete and utter bullshit. There is absolutley no logic in these discussions. OU's strength of schedule was much harder than USC's. They dominated better teams than what USC faced.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 OU as a whole played much better this season than USC did. Much better? Please. Slightly better, if at all. USC had one or two point-scoring bonanzas themselves.
