Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 OU still posted better numbers than any team in history except 95 Nerbraska. That right there should give them a shot at the bowl. Should it be against LSU? No I think it should be against USC. I think that it'd be bullshit for OU to be left out though based on what they did during the season. So now you're trying to say the season didn't matter? I swear OU haters will find any reason to give why they shouldn't be at the top.
Guest Just J Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Seriously Dama, it's not about hate. It's about facts, black and white, and the right thing to do. I don't hate OU by anymeans.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 And if OU dominates all over LSU's face people will still have something to say! There is no way OU can win and anyone will be happy. There's never a way for them to win and make anyone happy except there fans. And I'm pointing out that the numbers back me up. You can't deny that OU's numbers were more impressive than any team in history aside from 95 Nebraska and that they had a harder schedule than USC and still did better. And you can't deny that last night should not have happened. If you have seen OU play at ALL during this season then you would realize that they do not play like that normally. You would realize that that was not OU last night. And if they are OU. And if they do play like OU. Then I don't think LSU can win. Honestly.
ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Yeah like when they needed a late Clayton TD to hang on to beat Colorado.

And I won't give up! OU belongs in there and that's all there is to it. ANKLELOCK is an OU hater so I'm not listening to him. But the others I am having fun debating with. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Hey I say that USC deserves to be in that game. I think it's BS that they aren't. But they deserve to be in that game against OU. No matter what I think OU deserves to be in that game. Hey if OU had won last night there'd still an an outcry about USC being leapfrogged by LSU. Because I'm sure that would've happened anyways. Hey USC is getting a national title if they beat Michigan. However they have to share it with OU or LSU(likely ou).
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Oh and I want to know. How many of you believe that that team playing last night wasn't the real OU? I mean come on...based on OU's season you can't actually say that that was an OU team that was all there and playing there heart out. So who agrees that that wasn't OU at their best? Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 So who agrees that that wasn't OU at their best? <cricket, cricket> Oh you can't honestly say that OU was playing there hardest. It's already been said in this thread by other posters than me that that wasn't OU trying there best.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 I agree that wasn't OU at its best But OU at its best wasn't going to beat K-State the way the Wildcats were playing last night. It would have been closer by your defense got destroyed by the REAL Heisman trophy candiate.

It would have been closer by your defense got destroyed by the REAL Heisman trophy candiate. Oh please. To say that Ell Roberson is a better canidate over Jason White is absurd. Up until last night Jason White had great numbers. He still has pretty good numbers. 40 TD's and 2 Int's. And yes there will be four more weeks of this. And if OU wins there will be 4 weeks of declaring them the best in the country. If they lose....well then I won't post anymore because I will have hung myself. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 THAT IS IT!! OU at its best would NOT have beaten K State last night. *Ding* Umm...have you seen OU at it's best? Watch the OU that played Texas. Immaterial. OU against Texas was OU against Texas. That was that particular Saturday. I don't give two shits about how well they played all season. They could have made every single game a 187-0 murder (because they liked that number and the tie-in with murder), but that they got rocked by 28 points, once again, indicates SEVERE FLAWS. Neither USC nor LSU had such a deficit facing them in a game, let alone have their loss be by that much. Any time they were down was at the very least contested until the end of the game. OU fucking CRUMBLED under pressure when a team that was ready for them came in and knocked them on their asses. Bill Snyder dissected every bit of their team and it paid off HUGE. A truly great team would have been able to A) come back, B) not let it get out of hand like that, C) ignore the media saying they were in the title game either way (fuck what the players and coaches say on ANY team, they listen more than they admit) and, if you want to use a certain excuse, D) ignore the departure of their defensive coordinator after the game. Now the genius of Nick Sabin will be dissecting the dissection and OU is going to get fucked up down in N'Awlins, much to the delight of the virtual home crowd, which a truly great team should be able to overcome. Make that reason letter E, if anyone wants to argue that Kansas State was virtually at home and that's why they won. I'm no OU hater, but just get off of it already and admit that such a miserable performance negates ANY great season. If you can't even come to play the big games that matter, let alone win them, just get the fuck back to Norman and coddle that 2000 trophy and tell yourselves everything's going to be okay and you're one of the best teams in recent memory over and over again. So, in closing, LAY OFF OF IT ALREADY.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Also, I wasn't talking about Ell Roberson, I was talking about Darren Sproles Sproles for the season had 1948 yards rushing with 15 touchdowns with an average carry of 6.6 Roberson didn't beat you, Sproles did. He beat the life out of OU

the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Who cares if the OU that played last night wasn't the real OU? Was the USC that lost to California the real USC? Was the LSU that lost to Florida the real LSU?
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 OK first of all, TCU didn't "weasel" their way into a home game. They're letting the athletes take their finals on time rather then having to disrupt the whole finals week by taking the GMAC Bowl. I'm sure the players appreciate being able to have an uninterrupted period of time to study without having the hoopla of a bowl game right in the middle of everything. Second of all, as a Univ. of Houston grad, I plan on watching the Hawaii Bowl because with those two offenses the score may very well be somewhere around 84-80. Finally, I reserve the right not to say anything about the BCS championship game because it'll set someone off again. It's just a shame that the team ranked #1 in both polls won't get a chance to play in the championship game, and that's all I'll say.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Well I guess it'll all be settled in New Orleans. We'll find out if OU is really as good as they say they are and if they can shut up the naysayers. Or we'll find out if the naysayers are right and they crack under pressure. We will find out in New Orleans if OU deserves another national title. And Angleslayer....stop thinking about it to study?
