How will this effect Nakamura fighting on New years eve now being the champ?
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted December 9, 2003 NO SHIT! I can't even begin to list how much is wrong with this booking move.
Guest ligerbomb03 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Why the hell did they take the belt off Tenzan?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Great. Now I can hate the Heavyweight Champ alone with the Junior and Junior Tag Champs.

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 9, 2003 It just keeps getting better doesn't it Mad Dog? Opps forgot that I dislike the NWF Champ too. Guess that leaves the Tag and U-30 champs.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted December 9, 2003 WTF? I seriously am having a hard time believing that they would do this? I guess you are right MadDog as I hate all their choices for champions as well.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Guess that leaves the Tag and U-30 champs. You like Yutaka Yoshie? I guess we all have our crosses to bear don't we? I don't hate Nakamura, but this was SO not a good idea, going into 12/31 vs Fedor, had he lost it would have meant nothing, but a win would mean the world. As IWGP Champion, Nakamura better pray that he wins or NJPW is in so much trouble.
Guest ligerbomb03 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 There's a chance Nakamura might job to Takayama. Oh please don't give Takayama the title.

SinToxic 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 A month they gave him, wonder when will be the next time Tenzan wins what he should have held for a year at least. At most he should have made a V1 defense. And not like it was a long match to show the champions resistance, they really dropped the ball on Tenzan. I see him going back and standing next to Chono and making as much impact as Scott Norton.

The frustrating thing about this is that they did such a super job of buliding Tenzan up,Nakamura should have taken him to the edge but not beat him.Im guessing a rematch at 1/4. Hawkius Maximus 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Nakamura/Fedor isn't happening guys. It's being changed to Kosaka v.s. Fedor. Not even INOKI is stupid enough to throw the IWGP champion against the PRIDE champion.
Guest ligerbomb03 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Well, at least the new champion won't be demolished by Fedor after all. And is Takayama facing Cro Crop? When is that match?
Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted December 9, 2003 And is Takayama facing Cro Crop? When is that match? It is the main event on Inoki's new years eve show. I just read that Kensuke Sasaki made an apperance at the show.
Guest ligerbomb03 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Okay, I think Takayama will get slaughtered by Cro Crop, but will he face defeat if placed in a match with Nakamura? That is not up to me to decide, but it's certainly something to think about.

That is not up to me to decide, but it's certainly something to think about. I think that this one is hard to say. I know that Inoki is HUGE on Takayama, but it seems as people are telling him to go AWAY with the shoot style that he loves so much. I think it depends on which route he is trying to take the company. Hopefully Takayama won't be near that title though.

Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Puro n00b rant. Is this honestly such as bad thing. Being here are ragging on Tanahashi aswell, but face it, the current "generation" of Tenzan, Nagata, Nakanishi etc have FAILED , be it through the shoot fights or whatever. If the new group (I'm primarily thinking Tanahashi, Nakamura, Yoshie and Blue Wolf, along with Barnett as the gaijin ace) are working and are drawing, then GO FOR IT. Yes New Japan are taking a massive risk but thats what companies in a market as shitty as Japan have to do. Other than that I blame everything on Tenzan shaving his skunk mullet off.
