TNA news for this week

Recommended Posts

Sabin's matches in RoH have all been disappointing, they've given him numerous chances to make a big splash and earn a push, but he's yet to do so. He's faced Homicide and AJ, and neither match was good.

Xavier is perfectly capable of having good matches, he had a great match with Daniels at 8/16.

He doesn't have **** matches a lot or anything, but his match with walters was supposedly quite good, and he has been having solid **-*** matches all year long without facing any of the big stars. His matches with London were a HELL of a lot better than Sabin's was on TNA.

BTW, I agree with you that they are misusing him. Either commit to him or not, because there are plenty of other indy guys that could use that slot.

I can believe that he had a good match with Walters. I think Walters is real good. My problem with Xavier (although he's reportedly been better in the recent shows...which I obviously haven't seen yet) is that he's the most average guy on the whole roster.

And hell...Shane had a match with London that blew away anything Sabin or Xavier could do with him...and Shane still isn't very good.

Is it just me or does that guy who goes around saying 'fuck everyone,' watshisface, the Corey guy; come of as a bit bitter?

Glad Skipper's on a long term thingy though; even though he was my least favourite of the XXX trio, it still puts him waaaay above most peeps.

I totally agree. What kind of Dick runs back and forth from his TV to his computer all night so he can write "DIE DUTCH!!!" and then copy and paste it a hundred times for a post so 5 people can reply that he's sooo cool.

Wasn't going to respond to this since it is a TNA topic, not an ROH one, but the Xavier hate is completely unfounded.

I've seen Xavier live a dozen times and his matches have never been worse than solid. His match with London at Final Battle 2002 was a great heel vs. face title match. It had good work, good flow, and good heat. I've yet to see a TNA title match that has had anywhere near that amount of exictement from the fans over nearfalls that didn't involve 10 people running in, chair shots, belt shots, ect. Xavier's title matches against Styles and Jay Briscoe were also solid heel/face structured matches. All of his matches since returning have been solid or better. His 9/20 Field of Honor match against John Walters was one of the top 2 or 3 matches of the night in my opinion and his later Walters matches are supposed to be even better.

Givign him the title also wasn't "bad booking". In fact, I think it was one of the smartest peices of booking in sometime. ROH fans cheer wrestlers if they are good in the ring. That makes it harder for people to become good heels. Daniels, for example, gets cheered no matter what he does. So it is hard for ROH to have many heels. WIth Xavier, the fans didn't mind him for the first 6 months of ROH. Then when he won the title and turned heel, the fans felt he didn't deserve it so they started booing him. The thought was that Xavier wasn't good enough in the ring to hold the title. So the fans booed him and were all over him. This caused his title matches to have good heat and nearfalls as the fans really wanted to see him lose. The funny thing was, Xavier started putting on real solid matches around this time. He was still getting heel heat but his matches were also good. A champion that has solid heat filled matches is not a bad champion in my book.

You really need to see a lot more of Xavier before making your opinion. I haven't seen the Sabin match yet so I can't comment on that. As for Sabin not winning yet....okay. Sabin, talent wise, is on the bottom half of the ROH roster. He is not bad or anything, but he doesn't bring anything to the table that other guys in ROH can't also bring. At least Xavier brings heel heat to this matches. He will get a win soon, but all of his loses have come to top guys so it is not that big of a deal. I doubt this will be met well, but in my opinion, Xavier is a better all around wrestler and has more to offer than Sabin.

On topic - - The card does look solid and since I am coming home from cchool Wedensday, I'll probably order it. I just hope its not like every other TNA PPV I order based on a "good looking" card that turns out to be crap.

Actually, Low Ki broke his arm or something so he was injured. Japan had nothing to do with it. It was RoH. FUCK ROH! DIE ROB DIE!

Get your facts straight.

Low KI injured his arm the first time @ The FWA/ROH Frontiers of Honor show against Flash Barker, an FWA superstar.

Then, Wataru Sataka broke his jaw in Zero-One, putting him out of action no less than a month after he came back from action.

But ROH has their faults too. Rob Feinstein is an ASS, and if you don't believe it go ask Mick Foley

Jarrett's a dick. Vince's a dick. Plenty of owners are dicks. Go ask Mick Foley. Because the guy is a turd doesn't mean his fed is automatically bad.

Oh wow, two posters think I'm bitter because the product pisses me off constantly. BOO-FUCKING-HOO! Of course I'm bitter. That's what happens when you love something so much as TNA, and yet it always disappoints you.

You're exactly the kind of fan they are looking for. Because no matter what they do, how bad you think the product is, you continue to watch each week so you have something to complain about. Sure, a guy like syxxx is blind to any wrong doing from TNA. But what happens when he finally does see that he's not enjoying the shows? He'll most likely just stop watching or caring. And sure, Dave O'Neil bashes the product far worse then you do, but he's not even watching it so his opinion doesn't matter to anyone. You, on the other hand, already hate the product, and still support it week in and week out. You're Jarrett and Mantel's dream come true.

If it weren't for Raven and AJ Styles, I wouldn't watch every week.

EDIT: That, and I'm first and foremost a WRESTLING fan. The way I see it, the very fact that I do buy each show and critique makes me more of a fan than many. Why? Because any schmuck can buy it a couple weeks on and off and say "hey, it's pretty good, but I wouldn't buy it every week." Any fan can buy every show because "it's an alternative to WWE" (and yes, this is a BIG reason as to why many TNA fans watch). Personally, I think a real fan will stick with the company through the good and the bad, and say what they're doing wrong with the hopes that they'll improve.

Of course, this was before TNA became WWE Lite and stopped giving two fucks about the IWC (you know, their core fanbase?), and I've just been a fan of wrestling since I was three years old, so what do I know?

You know, as legit a point as that is, could you at least get my name right before bringing me into this

Thank you

Or somebody that just loves wrestling. Hell, I love wrestling so much I even buy the BYW tapes just to see more of it (can't get more dedicated than buying the best AND the worst).

Paying to watch something you don't enjoy = act of stupidity.

The stupidity of going on a message board to bitch about something you don't enjoy = act of stupidy too

How is it an act of stupidity to bitch about something you don't enjoy? That's pretty much what messageboards are made for, to express content or discontent. I love wrestling too, and if TNA was really an alternative I'd buy it, but it's not.

I'm all for the bitching - but to pay ten bucks a week, every week, for a product you're not enjoying...especially when you can pick up a replay in the wake of an actual good show airing...strikes me as a little silly.

Hey, to each their own.

In this case, one costs money and the other costs a couple of quiet seconds at work.

Here, Here!

I wouldn't say I'm a big fan but I've been following it pretty deep since the first show of 2003, and have watched maybe 95% of the PPVs (unless I work and forget to set up the PPV, or just dont have the funds).

I might be blind to any TNA wrong doing, but what I see when I watch TNA isnt what I used to see. And thats good wrestling on TV. It got to the point where I just said "Fuck it. I'll watch when I can" instead of it being must see TV. Kinda like RAW. I'll still watch, but it isnt the top thing to watch anymore.
