I loved the main event the first time I watched it because it was all action and brutal with a lot of great countermoves. Upon watching it again, it's not a great match, but that's not really the fault of the participants, as all three looked superb here. The match was structured around heel underdog trying to defend himself against his two babyface challengers who had already proven that they couldn't beat him in singles matches. There's too much distraction here from what is being done in the ring for me to continue to laud it as much as I did originally.

Angle v Shane was a total mess. The wrestlers were lucky to come out alive and the few good spots in the match were totally contrived and Shane was wrestling like he was trying to upstage his opponent. Not enough cooperation when it mattered and too much cooperation after the danger spots. Bad match.

You're crazy if you think Edge/Rhyno was ***. I wouldn't even give it *, honestly. Both men got MUCH better (as seen by two good efforts at SummerSlam 01).

You severely underrated Angle/Shane, which is just BRUTAL, VERY REAL, full of psychology and insane spots. I've shown it to MANY non-fans, who marked out big time. It's an easy **** in my book, but we all have different opinions. But that Edge/Rhyno rating, c'mon.:)

Hey CM, my bad bro, you gave Angle/Shane a fair rating.:) I was reading the other post which bashed it.

If anyone cares, here's my thoughts on it...

1. Angle def. Christian * 1/2

2. Edge def. Rhyno *

3. Dudleys def. Spike/Kane **

4. Edge def. Angle **

5. Hardy def. X-Pac * 3/4

6. Angle def. Shane ****

7. Austin def. Benoit, Jericho *** 1/4

Bah, I hate this match. The contrived spots just keep flying at you, and I absolutely hate Shane. Especially when it takes so much to put Shane down, but Austin wins later in the night after a superplex.

That wasn't meant to be the ending of the main event was it, I thought they finished it early because Austin broke his fingers or something when Booker T put him through the announce table.
